The Wire (2002)
It could've been a 10/10 show
As much as I wanted to rate the show a 10/10, I just could with how the last season was. The last season alone was hardly a 6/10 for me whereas the first four seasons was some of the best TV I've seen. Each episode and character just enticed me to keep watching.
I binged the first 4 seasons in three weeks but the final season took me nearly three months to finish. Each episode just felt more painful to watch and was saddening to watch what I thought was a perfect show just crumble. I almost didn't even watch the final episode. I just knew it wasn't going to be good. I finally got around to watching it so I can be done with the show and I wished I didn't.
TLDR; First 4 episodes unmatched in TV. Last episode felt worse than what happened to GoT.
People Puzzler (2021)
Show is fine but the host
The show isn't actually that bad for a game show but it's just too weird when the host has had so much plastic surgery that she has zero emotion at all. It's literally like a robot hosting the show. I want to like the show more but it just weirds me out seeing a face that just doesn't move when it talks.
If you like crosswords though it's a neat show. Nothing too difficult. I just recommend not actually watching the show, listen to it instead.
You need 600 words to leave a review and you don't really need that much to let everyone know this is the creepiest game show on GSN (Game Show Network).
The Traitors (2023)
Not worth the watch
No way this is unscripted or they just invited most of the cast without any brains at all. The whole group literally does the same thing every single episode over and over then they are so shocked that they are wrong every single time.
Pair this with at least 15/20 members being completely unlikeable kills any excitement or entertainment value in the show. Awful idea to have half celebrities and half random people too. If you're going to have half celebrities don't have most of them be people from other game shows.
The missions hardly matter because why try when you can just randomly be killed off in the show.
Alan is interesting and with Ryan hes the only reason it even got 2 stars.
Next in Fashion (2020)
Sexism is rampant in this show is
This is for Season Two only.
The hosts, mainly Gigi, is so offended when designers choose a make model especially if it's something she likes because she thinks it would look better on a woman. One particular challenge they consistently made it a point that the male designer keeps choosing to make menswear but made no mention of the female designer who only chooses women models. There's also a third designer and she also only does menswear but no mention of that at all.
I feel bad for the designers because the hosts/judges already have a predetermined mindset on who they want to win from the beginning.
Pressure Cooker (2023)
Not a real cooking competition
Any show that has outside factors decide who wins isn't a skill shot anymore.
The winner of the show could've served tv dinners for the final dish and still won. I should've realized sooner that this show wasnt going to be a real competition about who's the better chef but the several blind testings (only real way to judge) had me convinced.
This just came down to who you made friends with and the winner was friends with almost everyone. I for one don't see how being a real as he's trying to show us. The fact that he can't help but cry in every conversation he has just screams he's faking it to show vulnerability. He's trying so hard to win people over and sadly it worked.
Celebrity Jeopardy!: Quarterfinal #8: Patton Oswalt, Candace Parker and Torrey DeVitto (2023)
Simply no screening done before picking the contestants.
This is easily top 2 worst episodes so far for this already terrible idea of a "fun" Jeopardy. Celebrity Jeopardy continues the trend of the whole show jerking each other off and having majority of the questions about other celebrities, tv shows, and movies. But that wasn't even the worst part for this particular episode.
Two of the three players spent most of the game in the negative and wasn't even trying to take the game serious. The third person was answering nearly all the questions and even waging big on the daily doubles just because there's literally no competition.
This had to be one of the biggest gaps in money made going into Final Jeopardy of any of the celebrity Jeopardy's'.
Celebrity Jeopardy! (2022)
Complete waste of a good idea
Nothing turns me off more than having a special Jeopardy where it's just celebrities jerking each other off answering questions about other celebrities.
So many categories are about which actor did this, starred in this show, or also does this. It's like the more these guys know each other the better they will do on the show.
The questions are also rather simple. I will say no more than 15% of the questions are actually stumpers. I don't feel engaged at all with the celebrities when I keep answering a long with them when most of the questions are basic knowledge or hard not to know clues.
Lastly, did they run out of celebrities because so many of these "celebrities" just have 1 Netflix show that no one has heard of them or the show. When I said the celebrities jerk each other off, they did this constantly with the after break interviews always asking about what tv show/movie they are working on now and who they get to work with. Really? Just one time talk about them outside of Hollywood. Nope, they won't do it.
Only reason I give it 2 stars because there were a few select individuals who do seem out of their league compared to their opposition.
The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Elves have hidden barber skills
How is it that everyone in this show looks like they have never had a hair cut, proper shave, or even bathed besides the elves who have perfect hair? I just don't understand how Arondir has a clean short cut hair with what looks like even a fade going on. Just how do the elves do it?
Visuals and world building is about the only good thing about this show so far and might stay that way. I haven't cared for any of the characters yet nor do I see a half decent story.
Amazon continues the trend of ruining every IP it touches. Maybe after spending a billion on this rushed, uninspired spinoff they will try to be original or step out of the business.
Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022)
It's starting out ROUGH.
I have too many problems with this show so far and don't see many positives.
The good:
Ewan McGregor. Top tier casting pick back in the prequels.
The bad:
Obi-wan, who trained his whole life to be a Jedi master and trained Anakin, has practically forgotten how to be a Jedi and appears to be weaker than Rey before she had any formal training.
Plot - More bad guys who have no buildup. We're once again on a desert planet like the other 2 Star Wars shows. Cost saving by reusing the set and outfits. Fortunately we do see other places. Obi-Wan is meant to be here so it's unfortunate that this was the 3rd show.
What is with the shaky camera? It's like they filmed some of the show with a hand-cam.
The terrible:
Blackface is bad but whiteface is okay?
Santa Inc. (2021)
Didn't even finish the first episode
Probably the worst, unfunny show I've seen. Oddly, Sarah Silverman makes everything awful and this was more of everyone's fault than just hers. This is a do not watch from me.
Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Tom Holland is not a good Spider-Man.
Like most movies, they peak at the beginning and after each one you ask why did they make another? Very few redeeming aspects from this movie and it's mainly the cameos. It's also really long for a forgettable film. Luckily I didn't pay to see it, unluckily I did spend time watching it.
Arcane: League of Legends (2021)
Everything is alright besides the VAs.
Their choice in VAs (Outside of Heimerdinger) has just been awful. Why they would choose Shohreh of all people baffles me. It makes it hard to get through the episodes. Animation is not particularly what I like but I respect it and it's well done. Story seems interesting and I do like seeing the characters. I'm not sure if I'll finish the series though.
Dune (2021)
It's okay.
I've never seen a movie broken up into multiple parts and the first half being good. This just continues the trend. Very drawn out. Maybe they will redeem themselves with the second half whenever that comes out.
Imawa no Kuni no Arisu (2020)
It's okay.
Season 1
The anime memes are real. The last game felt like it was never going to end. The whole show is very predictable. My girlfriend and I both guessed at the very beginning of the 10 of hearts challenge that she killed herself and that should be the first body to throw on the fire. How did not one person think of that?
Season 2
I feel like Arisu is trying really hard to be a real life anime dude. The way he runs and his facial expressions just don't seem natural at all. The pacing of season 2 is god awful so far. 1 game was broken up between 3 episodes is far too much. It didn't need to be that long.
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Someone gave a YouTuber a movie contract.
Story was okay besides some of the obvious agenda and typical relationships. The excess extra art, reaction related effects, and YouTube references made it really unbearable at times.
It's a movie. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Tom and Jerry (2021)
Casting choice was awful
Every scene with Kayla was awful and every scene without her was alright. Writing was pretty bad and unbelievable. I did enjoy that every animal was animated too just like Tom and Jerry. Shame they didn't seem to really be the focus here even though the title of the movie is called Tom and Jerry.
Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
For the people who will watch any superhero movie
For everyone else, pass on it. This isn't a movie you will remember a month from now nor care to ever see it again.
Watchmen (2019)
It was Okay
I've read the graphic novel, watched the movie, and now the show. I'm not even disappointed about the political agenda. I just feel like it was slow, boring, and not written well. I personally wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
The Boys (2019)
Anti-Superheros
This is what Marvel should've been. The cast is top tier with especially Homelander. Not a perfect show but I enjoyed every episode.
Avengers: Infinity War (2018)
Money grab
Nothing about this movie is memorable. The story was so bad that had to be sololy to make another movie after this which they did.
Stranger Things (2016)
They got it all right besides the cast.
I don't think I can find anything wrong about this show besides the the cast themselves. For those reasons, I only give it a 4/10 because it got to hard to finish.
