Doctor Who: The Power of the Doctor (2022)
Season Unknown, Episode Unknown
8/10
A great end to a messy era
24 October 2022
The Power of the Doctor is a fun, fantastical and high-energy finale that did a fantastic job of setting up the 13th Doctor's regeneration. With a multitude of twists and turns, and well-paced writing and directing, Jodie Whittaker, Mandip Gill and Sacha Dhawan (along with many others) were able to flesh out their characters and show the best of their acting ranges together.

While it may have suffered from the usual Chibnall cliches and corny dialogue, the episode still manages to persevere and show the audience a good story with interesting plotlines and villains.

Overall, Power of the Doctor managed to intrigue and entertain with probably the best writing in the era, interesting villains with good purpose and a triumphant goodbye to the 13th Doctor.

The Flash: Negative, Part One (2022)
Season 8, Episode 19
7/10
Yeah, pretty good episode but very disappointed
23 June 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I'll start by saying I liked the episode quite a lot, it was a good first part for a finale and has an interesting cliffhanger that's got me excited for next week. However, the problem with Eric Wallace is that he SUCKS at characters... and today I'm specifically talking about Eobard Thawne. I absolutely love Matt Letscher as Thawne, and after years of him being off of The Flash, I was very happy to see him return. Unfortunately his return, in my opinion, was very lacklustre. In last weeks episode, it seemed like there could have been a set up for Letcher's Thawne to becoming the Reverse Flash, having memory loss, finding a way to find super speed, and having a loved one now making him more vulnerable than ever. But no, no no no we can't have that. Wallace just loves to make old returning villains good, and that's exactly what happened to Letscher's Thawne who died and was immediately replaced with Tom Cavanagh's Thawne. I'm genuinely broken, and yeah I'm probably over reacting, but he just does not have a grip on his characters. This was his chance to create the villain origin so many fans have been waiting for for years. Instead, he literally just wastes him for nothing. I love Tom Cavanagh, but I'm sick of seeing him as Thawne when I know there's no explained, canon reason as to why he's wearing that face still. It was the perfect opportunity to have a past Thawne who, instead of being humiliated by The flash in this timeline, has his loved one indirectly killed by him (which could have replaced Iris' death and lead to a big battle in the finale) and turned bad after realising that he will never be able to save people and blames the flash for all this after losing her AND being told by Flash that he's destined to be bad... and it could've literally tied in with what Letscher's Thawne has said before. In season 2 he states that he realised he was never gonna be the flash and that he was destined to be his greatest enemy... well damn, that would've been great to go off, having Eobard from another timeline's origin story in present day! But damn it seems I have better connective ideas than Eric Wallace, who continually writes what seems to be lazy and uncreative scripts for his seasons. I really hope we get to see Matt Letscher again next season, coz what a waste for such a great Eobard Thawne.

I don't know what to think
16 June 2022
I really liked this episode but it kind of let me down too. I love the Reverse Flash, and Tom Cavanagh was written very well in this episode which was a nice surprise, however Matt Letscher was not. I really hope we get to see his origin story in the last two episodes. John's story was a little disappointing too, I was excited to see him as Green Lantern but now he's just thrown it all away. It was written nicely, but they basically just hyped us up for nothing if they don't bring it back somehow. Really hoping they do these characters justice in the finale.

Lol how old are the people reviewing this?
30 April 2022
If you're an adult and giving this as poor a review as possible, then that's fine. It's not like the original series at all and even the characters aren't fleshed out as much as they used to be. But my nephews absolutely love this show, and it's not meant to please old fans, but rather attract the younger audience. There are still messages and meanings in the episodes teaching kids morals and valuable lessons, and is bright, colourful and not overly complex for the younger children watching the show. Personally I think it's great, and while it's not the show I fell in love with as a kid, it's definitely seems to be working for the new generation.

Destiny 2: The Witch Queen (2022 Video Game)

A better story and fun gameplay
27 February 2022
Destiny 2: The Witch Queen sets a new standard for upcoming expansions to come. The story in the game is great, and the new weapons, weapon type and Void subclass changes are very fun to use and master. While it is a bit overhyped in my opinion, it is miles better than some of the other DLCs released. My proper rating is 7.5/10, however I'll bump it up to 8 instead of 7 due to the effort Bungie has clearly put in despite both COVID and budget restrictions.

The Book of Boba Fett (2021–2022)
7/10
The best episode was...
1 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
The one with Din Djarin. This show is good, but nothing special or very interesting. There isn't a whole lot of action and most of it so far is backstory mixed with some present day shenanigans. Like I said, the best episode so far has been the one with Din Djarin from The Mandalorian in it, which is such a shame because I want to be getting excited over Boba Fett rather than him.

Halo Infinite (2021 Video Game)
7/10
Fun gameplay, good story, okay multiplayer
15 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
It was fun to get back into Halo and play through the missions, explore the open world and find secrets and all that, but while the gameplay was great, the story was nothing special. It was good, but not as great as the original Halo trilogy. Very basic villain and not many interesting characters. Multiplayer has been very poorly handled. You can't choose which game mode you want to play, there aren't many game modes and customisation is mainly achieved through micro transactions. The game could have been better, but I'm still solidly happy with what we got.

I'm still mad this didn't get Game of the Year
10 December 2021
What can I say? This game's narrative was very well written with very delicious characters, as well as gameplay, for players to get immersed in. I highly recommend Red Dead Redemption to all as it is a fantastic example of a effortful game that gets so many things right. Move out of the way God of War, coz this game should've been Game of the Year.

What a disappointment
5 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I was hoping in this series finale we would have answers to the Doctor's past lives as it was heavily teased throughout the 6 episodes and especially in the penultimate episode. However, the Doctor literally threw away the answers at the end of the episode, with a little hint that she will (probably) find out later on, most likely in the third 2022 special. This is an entire year away, with barely any Doctor Who content. Anyways, the editing was poorer than usual, the pacing was as bad as always and the villains were defeated pretty easily to be honest.

An interesting plot executed adequately
15 November 2021
This episode had some great plot lines going on and had me intrigued all the way through. However, as per usual in this era, the pacing and dialogue could be a bit off at points. While not an improvement from last weeks episode, it still held it's own and made me even more excited to unravel the overarching mystery of the season.

Improving itself
7 November 2021
With improvements from last weeks episode and great villains to watch, War of the Sontarans is a great addition to the season. The Sontarans were menacing but funny, especially as they are given quite a few comedic scenes. The continuing overarching plot was also interesting to watch and has me excited for next weeks episode.

A solid start with some issues
31 October 2021
Warning: Spoilers
While I understand this episode is meant to set up the rest of the season, it suffers from poor pacing and too many plot lines going on. However, it was still very interesting to watch and had me intrigued the whole way through. The Doctor and Yasmin's relationship is also quite good in this, showing them arguing and bickering while still getting along. Dan is a great new addition as well, however I hope his ignorance isn't a constant throughout the season. Altogether though it was a pretty solid start to a new season of Doctor Who.

It's alright I guess

While weapon upgrades and cards are cool, the game has barely improved since Left 4 Dead. In fact, I would rather play that than Back 4 Blood.

Shocking, hilarious and distasteful in a great way!
7 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
Some spoilers ahead. I went into this movie thinking it would be pretty run of the mill, with many characters seen in the promos surviving... boy was I wrong! I was shocked with all those deaths at the start, but my god it was funny to really see just how unimportant they all were. It's a bit of a shame that some characters were cast really well, like The Thinker, Captain Boomerang and Savant, and seeing them die was saddening, but in a very hilarious way. This movie also proves that James Gunn can make you feel for characters, even minor ones (For example, Ratcatcher 1, who in my opinion was cast really well) while still keeping it light and humorous. Definitely recommend this movie to all. It had some great cinematography that shows just how inventive and unique James Gunn is!

This episode was so weird
5 July 2021
I don't know what was going on in this episode, but it seems the creators are forgetting that this was a comedy and not a complete drama. Weird seeing what this show has become.

A heartfelt episode filled with fun!
9 June 2021
As a big fan of Adventure Time, this episode is amazing and had a lot of great fan service. If this is the last we see of Finn and Jake, it's a satisfying finale for the two.

The Flash (2014–2023)
8/10
A great beginning and a slow death
25 May 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The Flash's first three seasons were probably the peak of the show. These seasons had interesting villains, good characters, great writing and pacing, and most of all, The Flash! The next few seasons is where the show starts to get rocky. Season 4 had a great villain played by the fantastic Neil Sandilands, a great premise, but unfortunately began to gradually become more and more tiring as the season progressed. Season 5 also had a great premise, but the villain was terrible and extremely annoying. The last half of the season is where is starts to get really good... but everything else is pretty meh. Season 6 is a weird one... you can tell that the show runner has changed and all the characters seem... different. While this season improved on the previous one, and had some pretty cool villains and storyline's, it didn't feel like The Flash we all knew and loved. Season 7 has had a pretty weird beginning. A few episodes have been great, such as The Speed of Thought, which was brilliant paced, directed and acted. But so far this season just doesn't have the charm The Flash once did. The characters seem to all serve the same purpose, and with so many different people to focus on, some episodes barely have Barry Allen in it!

Altogether, this show has been an interesting one to watch, with many reveals, fan service and fun packed into it. Unfortunately though, the show seems like has become a shell of what it used to be.

This is the movie that was meant to be released
19 March 2021
Without saying too much, this movie is epic, intense and incredibly well done. While still essentially being the same movie that released in 2017, it feels vastly different and adds a ton of interesting content that viewers will love.

Everyone seems to hate her... but I really liked Debbie. Wish we could've seen more of her honestly. The episode itself was enjoyable. I liked how most of it was outside of the precinct.

This show is really funny and enjoyable. A lot of humour for both kids and even parents. People who hate this show have an expectation that this should be like the old show, but it's completely different.

Familiarity and Fun
7 February 2021
'Adventure Time: Distand Lands' is a continuation of the original 'Adventure Time' series. It does not butcher or cheapen the previous series or characters in any way, and is still as enjoyable. If you were a fan of the show, you will definitely enjoy these special episodes.

A bit slow, but interesting and enjoyable nonetheless
31 January 2021
It's quite enjoyable, but it definitely is not what you'd expect. I feel like watching it once all episodes are released rather than waiting each week would be more preferable as it feels like it may have been intended to be viewed that way.

Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks (2021)
Season Unknown, Episode Unknown
6/10
A mostly fun adventure
2 January 2021
This episode was a fun, breath of fresh air as Doctor Who finally returned after a long wait and was definitely worth it. There was action, excitement, comedy and, of course, aliens! The return of the Daleks was great, and they posed a great threat as per usual. All the characters bounced off of very well and The Doctor interacts with her companions a lot more interestingly in this episode. The biggest problems I had with this episode was with the pacing and some of the dialogue, but other than that it was mostly great. Awesome special, great performances and entertaining for everyone. 7/10.
