Grey's Anatomy: No Time to Die (2021)
Uncomfortable
Bailey and Webber were so incredibly petulant that they ignored what was happening with Schmitt. They were both so obsessed with their own opinions about "the Webber Method" that they were completely unconcerned with a resident. No one called Psych or did anything to help him until there was a visible issue. And the entire thing was just uncomfortable.
Link's whole thing is tired. He needs to get over Amelia already. I'm not a fan of him and Jo being together romantically but his insistence on being in love with Amelia is tiring. And I think Kai and Amelia make a better couple.
Owen's whole "mercy killing" thing comes out of nowhere. It's just a plot point to get Hayes to leave.
Grey's Anatomy: Leave a Light On (2020)
Worst Grey's episode...
Alex Karev grew to be one of my favorite characters on the show. He evolved so much from where he started and this episode was pure assassination of his character. All the growth he showed just disappeared with this episode. I used to think Derek's departure from the show was the worst, but this takes the cake.
I was never a big Izzie fan to begin with, nor was I a fan of Jo. But everything they built to in these later seasons showed Alex caring about Jo and not him wanting kids this badly. Or even wanting to go back to Izzie. She was never mentioned at all. Alex just left, at a complete disservice to his character up to this point.
I might have been able to accept the letters, but where he ended up just doesn't sit well with me. The character is ruined with this episode and I will definitely skip it upon rewatch. Not even the plane crash episode was this terrible.
Criminal Minds: Annihilator (2018)
Linda Barnes
Strauss is nothing compared to Barnes. Barnes is a character that you grow to hate so quickly so easily. This could have been an okay episode, if not for her. I almost quit watching the show when Reid got arrested, but this might be it for me.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: Moo Moo (2017)
Good way to tackle the subject
This is a very real issue that happens in the world as we know it today. The way the show handled this topic was very mature. It maintains the same idea of the overall show and is able to tackle such a serious subject. I genuinely felt for these characters, and it's important for people to know that this really does happen.
Brooklyn Nine-Nine: The Good Ones (2021)
Worst episode in the show by far.
Even worse than Gina's return. Everyone knows what happened in the world, and everything felt very forced. The entire episode was simply recapping real-world events. The show has tackled issues before, but it was much subtler and actually well done. Rosa quitting the force is very much shoehorned in. Obviously there's a very real and a big issue going on with cops in the world, but it feels weird to have that topic be so forced into a show like this.
Artemis Fowl (2020)
2 Stars for 2 Laughs
Josh Gad is not funny, no matter how many times this movie tries to make you believe it. His narration adds nothing to the story, and only serves to make you more and more irritated the longer you are forced to hear his attempted Batman impression. Nothing involving this character is even remotely funny.
I have never read the book, but now I have no desire to even try. The acting was very lacking and the kid was a prick. Colin Farrell is very wasted in this movie, and we barely got to know him before he disappeared. The characters had no personality. Listening to the dialogue was like putting my head in a metal grinder. There was no sense of wonder regarding the magic, and it was a very boring story.
Overall, it was a waste of my time. It would have been better as a show. For the love of everything good in this world I hope they don't make a sequel.
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Good Family Movie
6/10. Good for the family and for a laugh. Don't go looking for a good plotline.
The plot is very basic and doesn't make sense at time, but this movie is good for a laugh. Everyone in the family can enjoy this movie. It is by no means a masterpiece, and the animation style leaves a lot to be desired. The extra "quirks" of the modern internet don't add very much to the movie. Mark is one of the best characters in the movie. I completely disagree with the voice actor for Katie's brother. Although an interesting character, it is ruined by the VA.
Supernatural: Carry On (2020)
Disappointing
This finale was unnecessary. Episode 19 was a perfect finale and we did not need anything more. It's understandable that this was made during extreme COVID times, but it's still a complete trainwreck filled with useless nods to better episodes and stuff thrown in for cheap laughs. Not my finale.
The Simpsons: Lisa Goes Gaga (2012)
In the words of Comic Book Guy...
Worst. Episode. Ever.
There are many episodes where Lisa feels outcast from her peers, but this one is the worst I've ever seen. Having guest stars be the main part of the episode is one of the biggest mistakes the Simpsons ever made. If I could rate this episode 0/10, I would.
Jungle Cruise (2021)
Mid-Tier Family Film
The first part of this movie is fairly boring, although The Rock is very funny. The doctor and her brother are also quite charming.
Overall, the CGI design was very good. The twist added much-needed substance to the story. Emily Blunt's character got very irritating halfway through, seeming to be nothing more than the movie filling its quota for feminists.
The ending was a bit disappointing and in my opinion it would have been better if it were less optimistic. Although, if it had been made the better, yet sadder ending, it may not have been the best family film.
Overall, mid-tier film, good for families, and beautiful CGI.
Hawkeye: Never Meet Your Heroes (2021)
A Great MCU Show
I enjoyed this first episode a lot. In my opinion it is a great deal better than the other Disney+ original MCU shows. Hailee Steinfeld is a decent actress, but the character of Kate Bishop has absolutely no substance surrounding her. The story itself is very interesting and the action is well done. It is nice to see Hawkeye with his family and I hope the rest of this series continues to be this good.
My Little Pony: A New Generation (2021)
Decent Movie!
The songs were mostly good and I loved the environment for the movie! I am obviously not the target audience but I still enjoyed it quite a lot.
I didn't like the character of Sprout very much, I felt like he was a bit too obnoxious and maybe there was a better choice for the voice actor. I liked Zipp but the voice actor was not the greatest choice ever. Everyone else did great in their roles!
Definitely different than the show and G4 will always hold a special place in my heart. Overall, enjoyable movie and a great start to G5!
What If...?: What If... Killmonger Rescued Tony Stark? (2021)
Started out good...the rest was terrible
It started out well but then it turned into almost the exact same thing as the Black Panther movie. Not the worst episode of the series yet barely surpasses the Captain America and zombie episodes.
My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic (2010)
Great kids show!
I found the show to be quite enjoyable, but it dropped off after season 6 and I stopped watching completely when season 8 came out.
Scream (2015)
Great show...until the third season
The first season was so well done and almost perfect. The second is where it started to go downhill, and I didn't enjoy it nearly as much. The third season was absolutely terrible. It would have been better if it were made under a different name, as it is completely different from the first two. I would not recommend the third season to anyone.
Ocean's Eight (2018)
Bland and Tasteless
In short, this movie is a less complicated version of the other oceans movies, except with women. Nothing original was done to make this movie interesting.
WandaVision (2021)
Confused But Intrigued
The weird parts in the show are mildly interesting, but there are a lot of boring parts as well. I genuinely was confused after watching the first episode. Watching the second helped the show gain my interest, but I don't understand the overall goal of the show or where it fits in the timeline. Paul Bettany is the only reason some of the jokes land, but I do believe the show is trying too hard to be comedic. All the scenes with women are a bit weird and many seem overacted. I only hope as time goes on the show becomes less confusing.
Dumbo (2019)
Awful Movie and Bad Acting
Normally I love Colin Farrell in movies, but he was awful in this movie. The kids, especially the girl, were so wooden and stiff, definitely my least favorite characters. There are so many pointless characters in this movie with so many side plots. Everything feels forced, with no real focus on the flying elephant. Even Danny DeVito couldn't save this disaster of a film. All the characters were unlikable at best. In summary, don't watch this disaster. If I could give it a 0/10 rating, I would.
