The chemistry among the main characters was quite intense, and fun to follow. But that was about it.
There are people who are skilled in reading others' face. I know some of them. Even I can, to some extent, read people's mind from facial expressions. After all, we DO express our thoughts with them. And we can safely say there are commonalities, but the rest very much depends on each person, each situation, which was, on some occasions, featured in the episodes too. The foundation of the entire drama is that recognizing people's mind by his/her facial expression is universal enough to call it "science". And it is this very bottomline that the drama itself fails to convince.
Even with the fact that the whole story is based on actual person's activity (Mr. Ekman and co.), after the third episode of series one, I am telling myself, "My mom would have read that! What is Lightman so complacent about?" Yeah, I ain't calling him Dr. Ekman!
The story would have been far more entertaining if Lightman was doing this face-reading as a side business. It sadly deserves cancellation after the third series.
