This is the worst Star Wars film I have seen as of writing this. The Prequels are much better than this... and you know what that means if you are a Star Wars fan. Hopefully the next film in this trilogy will redeem this B.S., but I doubt it.

Just watch the films from the 1970's and 80's. Or the Prequels.

This is BY FAR the worst Star Wars film I have ever seen.

Just skip it unless you want to be disappointed.

The Myth of the American Sleepover (2010)

Great film-- I can't find much to complain about. Just watch it!

Before I begin, I may be biased due to being from the same area in Michigan where this was filmed (the neighborhoods all looked familiar to me, etc)-- but this is a really good "coming of age" story.

I hesitate to even use that term, even though a lot of the tropes of the "coming of age/teen drama" are present; I think what I like most about this film was the atmosphere. The tropes kind of just pass you by and it's more about the atmosphere and pure emotion conveyed.

Just the atmosphere (and perhaps shooting location) alone made me feel some very strong nostalgia about the time I was around the age of the various characters.

Great atmosphere, good actors, good cinematography, and so on.

I can't really put my finger on it, but there is just something about this film that really hit me somewhere in the feels. Which is kind of strange looking at the film objectively. This film was the final nail for my decision to go to my High-school reunion (which I did not plan on going to).

It's hard to explain, so JUST WATCH IT... it's definitely more than worth the money.

I very much hope that David R. Mitchell makes many more films in the future.

I'd give this a 9.25 out of 10

Under the Silver Lake (2018)

Amazing film.

I feel like I shouldn't say too much, and I just highly recommend you give it a watch. Don't watch trailers, don't read spoilers, and just go into it.

I don't think anyone will be disappointed as the story progresses to the end of the film. This is one of those films that is hard to even explain without spoilers-- so just go watch it if you like films.

If you enjoy charter studies, thrillers that aren't quite what you'd expect, existential "nonsense", and in general just films that are kind of strange... check it out.

(Oh also, there's an "easter egg" in there from one of the director's previous films... I thought that was worth mentioning because it was pretty cool)

GO WATCH IT

9 out of 10 because nothing is a "perfect film" But I thought about giving it an unattainable 10/10

20th Century Women (2016)

Very strong film. I don't understand all the negative reviews.

This is a very strong film, unless you only like fast-paced action films; I'm going to go out on a limb and say you'll probably like this movie.

As is the norm with A24... it's a good film.

I don't really have much to complain about. I belied in the world of the film, I believed the characters were real, etc-- the world and logic of the film was well established. There were a few tropes of the genre, but some strong writing and direction makes one look past this without really thinking about it. I actually cared about the story and wanted to see how things played out.

The story is a bit disjointed, but I think that works to the film's benefit due to the type of storytelling it's going for, which overall is very effective.

I'd recommend this film to pretty much everyone that likes good movies.

How to Talk to Girls at Parties (2017)

Really just... middle of the road.

I liked the setting and aesthetic quite a bit.

Though, it was a strange film-- better than your typical Hollywood schlock that fills up most theaters, but it's in no way great. I feel like much more could have been done with this concept, but it just left me, kinda uninterested about halfway though.

The film is not bad, but it's also not good.

If you can watch it for free, eh go ahead.
