Warrior (2019)
Simply the best
Like Bruce Lee himself, no embellishment is needed, the cinematography, the choreography, the script, the acting, all are combined to make this one of the best television shows I've ever seen.... Bruce would be so proud.
You really FEEL each and every character's story line, you hang on every word...which strangely enough I could sometimes even predict for myself. Must be because I grew up watching Bruce Lee, and the show is just so....him, but his descendants, who appear to be deeply involved in this show's production, really pay tribute to his legacy here, and I am so glad this show was made.
Ghosts: Viking Funeral (2021)
Terrible
Maybe if I had not already been watching the British version, I would think this show was okay, but as it is, it's nothing more than a cheap knock-off of the original...how do they even get away with it? The British version makes me laugh and feel things, this one just makes me roll my eyes at how awful it is! The acting is bad, the writing is super predictable, and I just can't get over the fact that America had to steal something that they couldn't improve upon...and I don't know how to keep speaking on a show that's so terrible for this silly review, but I have to submit the required amount of words!
The Flight Attendant (2020)
Easy does it
As an alcoholic, I have to say that episode 5 of season 2 is just too real man, just too real. Keep coming back, and take it one day at a time, that's all I can say.
Halo (2022)
Captivating
Okay, this does not follow the game storyline, but personally I can forgive that, because this is shaping up to be a very cool storyline, and honestly, I think this is the Master-Chief I always wanted!
In the first episode they covered an awful lot of territory, gave you just enough character background to let you know who you'd be rooting for, and who you'd be rooting against. I don't want to give spoilers here, so that's all I'll say about the story, but the visuals and the feel, are just absolutely stunning!
I cannot wait for the next episode, and at the end of the day, that is what really matters in a good tv show.
Starstruck (2021)
Three F's
I'm gonna try to keep this short and sweet...
I have to give it an 'F', three 'F's actually, for Fresh, Funny, and Fabulous! I do hope the Americans (yes, I know I am one, lol) don't try to copy it like they did with "Ghost", because I don't care what anyone says, the British version was way better.
I'm only on the 2nd episode of season 2 here, but I'm really hoping Matafeo does do a 3rd season, this show just makes me smile.
Walker (2021)
Padalecki is the weakest link
When I first saw a remake of Walker Texas Ranger happening, with one of my favorite TV actors as Walker, I was excited...now, I'm just so disappointed.
Absolutely everyone else in the show is awesome, including the talented and oh so HOT Lindsey Morgan, her leaving the show is gonna hurt them, but Padalecki, who was great in Supernatural, is just plain awful! I can't figure out what he's trying to do with his face! There is waay too much going on there, even his bodies mannerisms are unexplainable and spastic. I hope he's not on drugs, which was my first thought, but whatever it is, he stinks, and I'm quite sure the only reason he has the main role, is because he's also the show's producer.
Out of loyalty to the original Chuck Norris character, and because like I said, the other actors are great, I will keep watching to the end, but I expect that end to come soon, you can't have a long-running series, with a terrible lead.
Naomi (2022)
Patience Grasshoppers
Okay, lots of young newish actors, and they're still learning, but right away I felt the show was at least personally relatable, as I was also a military brat, and comic book geek. The show gets a lot of that dynamic right, like the diversity, and rather strict family structure, so it felt a little like home to me.
I also enjoy the abundance of Easter eggs in the show, which many of the reviews I read before posting this, wouldn't have gotten, because they have no knowledge of the DC Universe. However they did lose me a little. When in our current time period, Superheroes were first NOT real, and then suddenly just now being discovered?
All in all, I'm intrigued, curious to see Naomi's transformation, and what other heroes they intend to introduce besides Superman, after already having met a version of Hawkman, Commander Steel, and Captain Comet, in the first 3 episodes, and just hoping the writing and acting gets just a little bit better.
Kindred Spirits (2016)
Intriguing
I think Amy and Adam are actually doing a better job of keeping an audience engaged than Jason and 'Ghost Hunters' anymore. Their cases seem to explore a different angle or aspect of hauntings, whereas Ghost Hunters is pretty much the same thing, with the same end result, every single time.
Station Eleven (2021)
Grabbed me quick!
I like to think of myself as a very unknown, but very astute amateur television critic...kind of like backyard mechanics think of themselves as professional mechanics, lol, and all I can tell you is that after only 8 minutes into the first episode, I knew this show was going to be worth watching!
Mr. Corman (2021)
Too real.
Just finished watching the final episode, and I think I can wager a guess as to why the show is not being renewed...it's just too real.
I think that there are an awful lot of people in this world, who saw themselves in this show, and didn't necessarily LIKE what they saw. The constant fear and panic over Covid, the isolation of lockdowns, the aimlessness and uncertain future...the Zoom dating! 🤣
