Tron: Legacy (2010)
I dont get the hate
I understand why this may not be peoples thing, but I don't get how this is one star worthy.
It's ahead of it's time, and unlike the first film, its aged like the finest wine. Though I like the more abstract...ness of the first one, I thought that the Grid in this film got a fantastic facelift. It also has a fantastic soundtrack that really weaves its way into the film. Its actually important to the story. The only "flaw," I'd have is that like the first film it can get complicated, but other than that, its good. Like, an example of what a movie can be good.
Like HOW DID THIS GET SO MANY ONE STAR RATINGS good.
Tron (1982)
Perfect for being imperfect
Honestly TRON as a film, is far from great. It's confusing, and complicated, and it's aged like fine milk. But honestly I think that's what makes it special. You can't replicate this kind of movie. It's all it's own. It also has a lot of rewatch value. Every viewing you spot something you never realised before.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018)
Great
Just saw it today, and it was worth every bit of hype everybody surrounded me with. The animation is unique and great in it's own right.
The Spider-Men they chose were unique and fun. The best characters in movies are the ones you want to hang out with and there are a lot of characters in this movie that have that quality.
They also cram a lot of stuff in, and it all somehow worked really well. Nothing felt out
of place and nothing felt unresolved.
Overall, I am one who greatly loves Spiderverse, and I forgive Sony and the Emoji movie.
Oh wait Angry Birds 2 is next NEVERMIND!
Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul (2017)
Worst Film Of 2017
People say TLJ was 2017's worst movie, when this released the same year? This movie was meant to celebrate the 10th birthday of Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which if I was Wimpy Kid, I would reject this movie in anger!
The movie has no redeeming humor, which is the worst thing that can happen to a comedy. Actually, no. The worst thing that can happen to a comedy is having your audience feel disgusted.
There is literally a scene where its just CGI vomit spewed in your face. I feel bad for the people watching this on a 50 foot screen with popcorn, and possibly 3D glasses (which btw why would you view a live action comedy in 3D?) and seeing vomit in your face. And theres even more gross out humor that leaves you feeling like you need a bath. In hand sanitizer. And through a car wash.
This film I hate to bash, especially since DWK 1-3 are good. But the fact that the director and screenwriters from 2 and 3 return to give us this? Yeah, there is no excuse. This film's worse than anything The Last Jedi could EVER do.
The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King (2003)
Some People Should Know What Adaptation Means
A lot of people hate the film because it's not like the book. If they did it would be incredibly long, which the series already is!
While LOTR is not an easy series to adapt, this version did it really good, with engaging characters, a good story, and legendary visuals.
Hate all you want. If you find the book better than this, go right ahead, but this is in my opinion, the perfect trilogy.
Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009)
Best one
Is in my opinion, a good sequel. Not laugh out loud funny, but still very humourous. Good story that raises the stakes and uses the Smithsonian to it's advantage. Check it out. Its more than just your "failing family comedy" every snob tells you.
Elf (2003)
"Will Ferrell Is A Manbaby: The Movie"
I don't think this movie is bad, in fact whenever I have nothing better to do BUT watch this film I enjoy my time with it. But I don't get the praise or why it has garnered "Christmas Classic," status. I'm sure I am missing something, but my complaints have already been vaguely explained up above.
The Polar Express (2004)
My Favorite Christmas Film
This film obviously has flaws. A lot of people say that the faces are creepy, and though I don't think this, I get their point. The rest of the animation though is some of the best I have seen, and still holds up today marvelously.
The music should be pointed out as well. It can be big and pompous, but also can warm up a quiet scene with heartwarming Christmas spirit music. It has some of my favorite Christmas music.
The story is like a variation of A Christmas Carol, in which one with little faith in Christmas gets thrown into a supernatural scenario where he has a change of heart. I think it was excecuted well and leaves you feeling the quiet warmth and joy of Christmas.
This film is obviously not for everyone, and if you are not a fan of this film, I can totally see why, but this film is my Christmas movie that I will gush about any season. I definetely recommend that you watch it at around 10 on Christmas Eve night. By the time the film ends the main protagonist is winding down and ready to settle in for what lies next on Christmas Day, like you would.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (2009)
Good, But Not For Everyone
For a film about food, this does have an aqquired taste, that most *in snooty british voice: "well educated peers with a good understanding of c-r-r-ritique of cinema," will see as a badly animated wacky mess. Is it? Yeah, it can be quite too much for most people, but I loved it.
It does have middling humour, the really funny stuff mostly from the exaggerated movement and slapstick.
The animation, though not as refined or professional as other animated films, still has a wacky, fun style it can call its own.
The story, though basic and clichéd, is still good. Sonetimes a good movie is simple and cliché. How To Train Your Dragon Anyone?
The characters are also likable, though it could just be me.
Overall, I reccomend it. Again, it isn't for everyone, but if you like wacky cartoons like Spongebob, then watch it!
Megamind (2010)
Underrated
Just watch Schaffrilas's video on it. It explains it better than I ever could.
The Lion King (2019)
DIFNEY BAD, I FMART
DIFNEY MAKE NEW MOVIE. MOVIE NOT GOOD. DIFNEY OBVIOUFWY BAAAAAAAD!
VideoGameDunkey (2010)
Z Tier behind Scott the Woz
Makes great videos, but not enough Bookworm Adventures Deluxe. I may bring the rating up to a 3 when he plays Purble Place.
Bee Movie (2007)
Insert Bee Movie Script Here
It is the kind of movie to enjoy ironically. Just sit down, grab a buddy, maybe even two buddies, and just rip this movie apart, while having a laugh in the process. Oh yeah, and the funniest thing in this movie is Patrick Warburton, who is the villian, because his girlfriend is friends with a bee. MCHWAAH ⛪⛪⛪
ProJared (2010)
Rating His Show, Not His Controversy
Controversy aside, his show while far from the best of the game critic scene of YouTube, is still pretty good, and does bring good takes on games, (primarily RPG's,) with some not laugh out funny, but still charming humor and wit. It now may have left a bad taste in peoples mouths after the controversy, but hey, tragedy + time = comedy.
VeggieTales: God Wants Me to Forgive Them!?! (1994)
For Little Kids With Charm For Adults Too!
One of the "jokes" in this film is just a guy saying "bamboo bamboo bamboo," over and over. If you find that unfunny, then I consider skipping this. But apart from that it's great!
It has a funny scenario with the characters the Grapes of Wrath (monotone "ha") who with Junior learn to be nice and not bully others. Chichéd moral, but a good one, with some good 90's era "blursed"
cgi.
It also has a Gilligans Island parody with a Jamacian coconut tree. That is all I will say.
VeggieTales: Dave and the Giant Pickle (1996)
A Really Good "Bible Heroes" episode
It's the start of LarryBoy, is an adaptation of an actual Bible story, and has a good Silly Song. Let it pass!
VeggieTales: Madame Blueberry (1998)
Poorly Aged Classic
Though some see it as a classic, I see it as a positively mediocre experience, even down to the love song, though that is just me. It does have good stuff in it, like the animation, the scenes in the Stuf-Mart, and especially the moral that everybody of any ideology can get behind.
The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything: A VeggieTales Movie (2008)
Generic Pirate Movie With A Well-Known Brand On It.
I'd only reccomend watching it if someone else under 10 wants to. Its a generic kids movie that is like BTTF and POTC with Veggietales become the most... ehhhhhhh ... movie experience.
Super Mario Odyssey (2017)
Seriously? Come on Nintendo! We all know this is a ripoff of Bubsy 3D!
Now that everybody either had a good laugh or disliked this, Oddysey is the (almost) perfect game everybody praises it to be.
My only problem is that the post game has very little to offer, making moon collecting feel like a chore, though that could just be me.
Cuphead (2017)
Somehow nostalgic
Though controller breaking frustrating, still charming with fun colorful visuals and catchy tunes. I was born in 2004, and yet this 1940's too
somehow feels nostalgic. Favorite boss is the mermaid, and my favorite character was Werner Werman.
