Elemental (2023)
Pride & Prejudice mixed with prejudiced history and floods
It was enjoyable and I teared over the love story. But the immigration portion wasn't necessary. They gave mom and dad names since they couldn't pronounce their original ones. Very Ellis Island immigration standards. They were exiled and made Fire Town since no one would accept them. In turn, they hated one of the other elements. One. No one else. Just water. And the love story was pride & prejudice which, they did go to a movie called Tide and Prejudice. How appropriate. Not really understanding why her rage blew up the pipes other than to bring Ember and Wade together and create art and drama. Then we have Ember who rages and Wade who cries all of the time. Is that what changes their elemental chemistry? Their irrational emotions? It wasn't clear and seemed to be just everywhere..
Tell Me Your Secrets (2021)
Bit of a Mess
I finished what I started. I gave it 3 episodes and it just kept making sense then just turning out of nowhere to something that didn't fit to the story. I think Lily Rabe is underrated and gave a great performance, however, this storyline just threw too much in to the air and left it unresolved or explained nothing.
Limetown (2019)
They Could Have Done Better
I have listened to the podcast and this show could have done better. Jessica Biel is not portraying the character accurately and is more interrogating people rather than interviewing them as journalists do. Lia was a professional in the podcast and not a cold, insecure, emotional mess that Biel is portraying. Honestly not a fan of the casting choice for her to play Lia. This was just a promotion for the terrible book that was more of a prequel about her character than the history of Limetown.
