Warrior Nun: Revelation 2:10 (2020)
what Sr Beatrice said
Great show and love the way the story unfolds and surprises with plot twists. While I don't like the way it ended, I can't wait for season 2. Hurry!
Run: Fuck (2020)
The Tipping Point - All in
You start watching a series and wonder: Is this going to be worth it? You watch the first episode. Perhaps its the acting, plot, cast, editing, music, which causes you to want it but you want more. Then you watch the next episode and you get drawn in deeper. When the 3rd episode arrives, you want it - you really want it ALL. You learn more about Ruby and a lot more about Billy than you realized. Then there's this one scene - I won't spoil it except to say you'll think one thing and bust out laughing when you realize what exactly is happening. But at that moment, BLINK - you realize this just went to a whole new level. An understantement: Superb plot line and twist! You start connecting the dots - but are the dots really connecting? Just as real as Ruby's body language. Then you get to the last scene and its: Game over, Hooked. Totally. This episode is the tipping point - you're ALL IN. WOW - Savor this episode because you won't be able to wait until the next one. As for me, time to watch it again. Whew
Run: Kiss (2020)
Merritt Wever is crushing this!
Merritt Wever speaks volumes with her eyes, grins, and the tilt of her head. You don't even need the hear the dialogue to know what's going on. I rewatched this episode just to watch her. Can't wait for more!
Dare Me: Parallel Trenches (2020)
Keeps getting better
Luv the edits, different POVs - strong, really brings home the characters and dilemmas they face!
Another Life: How the Light Gets Lost (2019)
Music, Cinematography, Editing - Brilliant
I loved this episode because is was so complex - so many story lines active at once (which is one of the reasons I like this series so much). The best part was one of the more sensual scenes which played Walking on the Ceiling by Class of 88. This is genius. especially how the two scenes are linked together using this song. It began with a scene between Niko and Erik, transitioning to August,Oliver and Javier. Cinematography, music, editing down to the precise beat - Brilliant!
I noticed this before but this episode takes it to a whole new level.
You Me Her (2016)
A real hidden gem
I stumbled onto this show and thought I'd give the first episode a try. Wow - I was surprised at the quality of the writing, acting, and music. The lead actresses/actors do a great job and the supporting cast is outstanding. Even those who may be in only a few episodes do a great job and I hope they stop back by in the future. Although the "throuple" hook is in every show, it is really about all kinds of relationships between people and the authentic challenges in maintaining them. I love the way the writers keep unraveling the story line and expanding the subplots. I really, really like the way many of the episodes end with a surprise or cliff-hanger - but then again, I'm bingeing my way thru the seasons. Also, major kudos to the music director. The music is so on point with the script and is wildly incredible. I've picked up some great tracks from this show. Go watch it! Now!
