Beowulf (2007)
Before it's time
It's oddly enchanting and impressive for the time. The animation and oddly textured backgrounds throw me off, but it's still really impressive.
Howl (2015)
Solid and simple
Below telltale game quality level writing. But the action is somewhat interesting. It would be a good horror game.
Bone Tomahawk (2015)
I love the style, but something is a bit off
I wanted to give this movie a 7, but I'm gonna settle on a 6. This movie has amazing atmosphere, amazing characters, amazing buildup. But unfortunately, it's just a lot of build up for a very quick finale. I think it needed another draft of editing. Also, even though I am a fan of the practical effects, some of them are a bit obvious. I loved the movie, but I don't think I can recommend it to everyone.
Secret Window (2004)
Classic 2004
I watched this movie because the trailer had a really cool narrator, one of the honest trailer type voices. I could tell it was a King story. Along with the sorta cheesy directing, the great acting and suspense made this movie really enjoyable. Watch it if you are a fan of the early 2000's feel.
Home Sweet Hell (2015)
Not bad, interesting characters, Good actors
I'm surprised by the low rating, I suppose the characters don't meld well with all people?
I find the situations to be uncommon in most dramas or comedies. My only problem, which is what I think ruins it a bit, is how unrealistic or dumb Mona's decisions are. I feel like they could have made her a lot more intelligent overall. The movie kind devolves from the first stupid decisions. So that's why I gave it a 6.
If you like rom coms or dark comedies then you would probably like it.
Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)
Simple and Entertaining
I went into this movie blind and I was pleasantly horrified and surprised. The movie is well directed, has great practical FX and is suspenseful. It's a like a trip through hell. The movie doesn't feel low budget at all. My only problem with the movie is how the trip to prison is setup. I was wondering how he gets to the title "Cell Block 99" and when you find out how, I was generally confused. So besides that plot hole, the movie is totally worth a watch, unless you cringe very hard at gore.
The Art of Self-Defense (2019)
One of the best movies I've seen in awhile
This movie isn't for most people, it's very quirky and borderline ridiculous. But, that is what made it amazing. I feel like people don't know that some Karate Dojo's are similar to this one, the average person probably thinks it's just insanely unrealistic. But actually, the beliefs of the sensei are completely based in reality, I have witnessed similar masters before. This is also one of my favorite Eisenberg movies, I just think he plays the over-the-top character well. Go see it if you love martial arts!
Mortal Kombat Legends: Scorpion's Revenge (2020)
A Classic Story with Over-the-Top Action
This is a must see if you are a Mortal Kombat fan. It's a familiar story with a simple plot. The action is insanely gory like the video game fatalities.
Overall, I really enjoyed it, can't wait for the sequel. The only problem I had with the movie was that the action seemed a little too focused on "glory" kills rather than "brutality". Like how Liu Kang would counter one blow and his arm would fly off. I did like how they kept it somewhat realistic, that was pretty entertaining. Except the part where Joel Mchale becomes an expert martial artist.
So yeah, watch it.
Us (2019)
Turned into a B movie really quick
I actually enjoyed the ending with the explanation of the prologue. But what I dislike was the motive and reasoning behind the entire movie. The movie just doesn't make sense and has no explanation of it. The puppet underground thing was not explained and not logical. Get Out was 10x better because it just made sense.
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
Wow, one of the best action movies I've seen.
If every movie and show had action like this, the world would be a better place. It's still not the level of The Raid/Raid 2, but it's great and Keanu is the perfect actor for the job. Reminds me of the same feeling great violent video games give you.

John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017)
A step up from the original.
The story is simply ridiculous, but the insane realistic feeling action is amazing. The amount of people John wick killed in this movie was insane. Better than the first, another perfect example of what an action movie should be. Best action I've seen since The Raid 2.
John Wick (2014)
An example of a good action movie.
Simply the start of something amazing. John wick is what I always wanted since I watched the matrix. It's insane action with a simple story.
