Tires (2024)
The 6th graders play is more entertaining
And more mature. The level of comedy here is on par with a two year old fart jokes. I was expecting some one to call a person a name so they could respond " I know you are but what am I? " Thats the high brow level of writing here. In the scene in the office with the reporter that basically all it is. None of the characters were fun to watch or funny. Annoying isn't funny and all of them never rose above being annoying. If you seek humor in a television program, I recommend you not waste your time and keep looking. If there was a single joke in this, someone needs to remind me because I must have missed it.
On the other hand, if you think incessant use of the F-bomb is simply hilarious, then this show's for you.
Cooking Up Murder: Uncovering the Story of César Román (2024)
Typical drawn out Netflix doc
Three long episodes that could have been done in one easily. Jealous boyfriend kills girlfriend who was leaving him. And he was a bs artitis and was semi famous. Big deal. The most shocking part of the story is according to Spanish law they could only give him 15 years max. So as in other things that absolutely have to be about ten times longer than they need to be for no apparent reason other than the vein glory of the pretentious people in absolute charge of the project. Character counting and minutes on screen are apparently correlated on some type form or fashion. When shorter reviews and shorter documentaries would suffice.
Turning Point: The Bomb and the Cold War (2024)
Lies and more lies
Well of course the russians cast some magic spell and made people vote for Trump. I know putin came to my door personally and offered me a sawbuck for my vote. Give it a rest people. And look how wrong McCarthy was. The whole world didnt turn commie by slapping it with a socialism paint brush. Nope that never happened. Maybe I'm just dumb but was excited for this show for weeks but the woman on there acting like the Japanese were innocent and U. S propaganda tricked everyone. From my years of research the Japanese were almost as evil as the Germans. The batton death march forcing POWS to sit in direct sunlight until they died or beat them while brutally burnt. The killing of 350,000 civilians and brutal raping and killing. Feeding people to sharks for fun. Directly responsible for 8 million Chinese deaths. Brutal human experiments. I pride myself on being unbiased when it comes to history because no country was innocent but this infuriated me. The Japanese were brutal and great warriors but they were far from innocent.
Poor Things (2023)
The poor things are the viewers.
This could quite be the worst movie I have ever seen in my life. And I saw The Room. So you think its ok for what is basically an infant or young girl to be taken advantage of repeatedly. Whether she likes it or not. There's a reason we mature as we do. Odly though this child never seems to mature. Her speech improves but thats it. Its utterly disgusting. Basically child porn. And oddly enough this had to be made during the me too movement. I guess someone didnt get the memo. Defoe has made some wierd choices in the past buy ths goes above and beyond. Save yourself two and a half hours of misery and skip this one.
Death and Other Details (2024)
Ive almost for what it was originally about
The is one of the most uninteresting shows I have ever seen. It might be a little better if you could wait to the end and watch them closer together but its so boring that you forget what started it all. It's also very disjointed and does that thing I really hate -- constant cuts to a story in the past. It's annoying. I cant belive Mandy Patinkin agreed to do this. Not to mention the other story lines and situations that have absolutely nothing to do with the story. That seems to be very popular these days. I am pretty darn sure they use flashbacks to confuse the audience, This way viewers don't noticed the plot holes that would otherwise be glaringly obvious .
#Cybersleuths: The Idaho Murders (2024)
Wow this show is really bad
Whoever thought this would be entertaining I hope for our sake never produces anything ever again. I was about twenty minutes in before I stopped watching it. That was all I could take. Like water dropping on your forehead. I hate documentaries like this. All it does is bring out the nut jobs that actually have no idea what their doing. These people were interfering with an ongoing investigation. These amateur detectives are not restricted to follow police procedures. That they released this before trial is over is wrong on many levels. And they're not even entertaining. At all. The foul mouthed young lady is particularly annoying. TikTok sleuths do more harm than good. What the hell Paramount?
Leave the World Behind (2023)
When does part 2 come out?
Sure this isnt the way theyre going to end it. What happened? Why are the animals going crazy? Hello!! It started as promising and a very different film, but clearly the writers had nowhere to go with an ending, so they didn't give one. You have to just use your own imagination here! Very disappointing to have wasted over 2 hours watching this, which was way too long for the content. Julia Roberts character was awful, her kids super annoying, daughter was a borderline sociopath. The whole family's lingering cognitive dissonance despite the mounting, obvious evidence of what was happening drove me to near insanity. The only reason I and probably a lot of other people watch this film is because Julia Roberts is in it.
How to Become a Mob Boss (2023)
If youre going to make a documentary dont disguise it as something else
Why cant you just make a documentary without pretending youre doing something else. Also on episode three there is a woman who is about as Italian as borscht that breaks out in an Italian accent when she says a word she deems needs to be said that way. Its like listening to a record and suddenly hearing a scratch. Like news anchors usually do. Its annoying when they do it but hers is way worse. She tries way too hard. Other than that its worth a watch. Keep in mind a lot of the facts are wrong too. Peter Dinklage must haven either had some free time on his hands or owed someone a huge favor. The end.
Untold: Jake Paul and the Problem Child (2023)
Dont pay attention to the haters
Dont listen to the bad reviews. I guarantee you they all work for old school boxing. In one way or another. One guy says the fights are fixed then another guy says he's fighting retired fighters and other people say hes on steroids. Make up your mind. Boxing is dead. The ufc is a pale shadow of what it was when it started in the 90s. Hes playing stupid. Hes pretty dang smart actually. He goes the distance with Tommy Fury. Knocks him on his behind. But hes still not a real boxer? He fills seats. Hes annoying on purpose. Everyone cant see that for looking. And thats just what he wants. Judge for yourself.
#TextMeWhenYouGetHome (2022)
Awful sound effects
I can't even pay attention to the show for the stupid clackity clicking sound effects they somehow think are prevalent with texting. Does your phone make a noise when you text? It doesn't make any sense. At all. The rest of the show is okay . It's your typical true crime program. I wish I could somehow mute that sound. #TextMeWhenYouGetHome became a viral, worldwide movement following the death of Sarah Everard. The slogan sparked awareness around the vulnerability women feel while out in public alone. In this true-crime docuseries, each episode follows the case of a woman who has been abducted, harmed, or even killed while she was out by herself. In several episodes, survivors reveal their own story.
Betrayal: The Perfect Husband (2023)
Wow! I dont even know where to start
So youre husband cheated on you and he was good at it and if he wouldn't have spread his std every where he wouldn't have got caught and you would still be taking selfies with him. Smiling and showing how oblivious to the facts you are. Its terrible that he preyed upon a student and tried to seduce even more but other than that where do you see a podcast and a three part docu series? I wonder how many women just in Ga this has happened to? There is no here here. Just look up a county in Ga or any other state and search for sex offenders. New flash, there more than you care to count. So find another man . Vet better the next time and get on with your life and stop trying to make a buck off of it. This proves that netflix will put anything on just to make it look like they have a ton of stuff to chose from. BTW if you haven't watched this don't.
Big George Foreman (2023)
What a great film!
I dont know why I was this only has a 6.6 rating. If you see the film you could probably guess why some people might not like its. Although most of the people who took the time to actually write a review liked the film . This is a come back movie , a cautionary tale and spiritually inspiring message all in one. And its a true story. No graphic nudity or profane language . All casting and performances here excellent, especially Sullivan Jones who emulated Muhammad Ali perfectly. Have a great admiration and respect for George Foreman. Having lost the World Heavyweight title to Muhammad Ali, his comeback story is one that begs to be seen.
Extraction 2 (2023)
The action sequences are amazing!
Lets face it. Very few action movies, especially straight to streaming ones have a story that rivals The Godfather. So the story with this one is a little convoluted . But watch it for the photography of the action sequences. Long shots that don't break. I still cant figure out how they did they one where they were going to the train. Going in and out of windows on a moving train. It had to be CGI but if it was it was top notch. I still do not understand the low ratings. Maybe they have tiny televisions and could not appreciate the outstanding camerawork . The first movie was good but this one is so much much better! As expected!
True Crime Story: Indefensible (2021)
The name of the show is on point.
Whoever cast this very annoying woman should never be hired to cast for another show again. Everyone enjoys listening to someone who thinks they're the smartest person on earth don't they? No.... they don't. The number one rule of journalism ( if you can call this woman a journalist) is the show is not about you. Subtlety is the key. Instead being on the side of whats right you wind up feeling sorry for the people she interviews no matter who they are or what their role in the story is. There is no defense for the interviewer or the person who cast her. Or whoever decided there's needs to be a certain number of characters in a review.
Vh1's My True Crime Story (2021)
The narrator ruins it
The narrator completely ruins the show. The content is entertaining and interesting enough without the need for street slang and someone trying way too hard to be cute. Rule number one of journalism ( not saying this woman is a journalist ) is you are not the story. The story is the story. I saw the episode where the guy started out faking loan applications and he wound up faking identities and making millions of dollars. Why do we need someone speaking street slang when this was clearly white collar crime. ? Nothing street about it. I couldn't even enjoy the show. Its like watching a documentary about eagles and its being narrated by Donald Duck.
Casa Grande (2023)
Wort show ever
I would rate this show a 0 if I could. Casa Grande is a boring, repetitive and uncreative show set in a town in Northern California where random things happen. The characters are unlikeable and the show was terrible from the beginning. Overtime, the show became drastically worse, which I didn't think was possible. The story/stories are pointless and uncreative.
The acting is some of the worse I've ever seen, probably in my whole life and don't get me started on the dialogue. The scripts for some episodes are utterly awful. Some episodes don't make any sense and dialogue is thrown around for no particular reason in some scenes in certain episodes.
This show fails on every level and my advice, stay away from this terrible and overrated show.
Sense8 (2015)
Horrible
This series is bad. Weak idea, with thousands of plot holes, poor and predictable script, so bad acting! And sex, so much unneeded sex. Once you see 2 or 3 episodes there's nothing surprising left, except of the high rankings. I am puzzled over the 8+ average review on this new Sci-Fi show. First off it's not really sci-fi. The first episode made me wonder if they should call this Make no Sense. You can tell they put tons of money into this, and technically it is very appealing. I had to fast fwd the episodes just to get through some of it. Sense8 is one of the most pretentious series I've ever seen. It's full of insipid protagonists who come straight from a low quality airline magazine. If you're 12 years old with low brain activity, you might like it, but seriously, people, it's not even for a hangover Sunday. The only thing that is minimally funny is that the producers make fun of a Latin soap opera that one of the main characters is doing, in which he is an actor. The irony is very evident, the quality of the actors in that telenovela is better than the slop that is the series itself.
Evolving Vegan (2023)
Whats the point?
Im not getting the point of the show. To show us how well we could be eating if only we lived in .... Where are the recipes or any tips at all? How did this get a 7.5? In the first episode the host talks about one chefs secret butter. Another gives the ingredients for his fake meat but neglects to show us how to make it. We could have better dishes but instead some of us are still learning the ropes while we eat oatmeal and rice and beans. I've seen other on the road shows where the chefs show us how they prepare the meal but not this one. You want more people to go vegan but won't offer any help.
The New York Times Presents (2020)
Some episodes are ok. Most are not
Slap full of propaganda. Im watching in 2023 the first episode is health care workers presenting covid as if it were an episode of the Walking Dead. They said when the restrictions were lifted covid cases would skyrocket and yada yada yada. Well we all know how that turned out. However when you get to the episode abiut Brianna Taylor that one is actually interesting. And objective. The show as a whole doesn't seem to have a theme. You've got episodes about pop singers and rappers along with one about fires in Australia and crimes and criminals. So what is the new york times actually presenting?
The Good Mothers (2023)
Snooze fest.
For one thing its way too long. It could easily have been done in three episodes. Moms in trouble and goes into witsec. The kids aren't happy and the dirt bag family is trying to shut her up or kill her or both. Even though its based on a true story its been done time and time again. Its more like a really slow soap opera than a limited series. Throw in a teenage romance and a lot of dingy sets and you could put it on daytime tv and fill the commercial breaks with ads for tide and Palmolive. To whoever made this please get to the point. Now, The Good Mothers the abridged version might not be that bad.
Shrinking (2023)
I have yet to laugh even once
Hollywood thinks everything that isnt a serious drama or action show is a comedy. Wrong. You're supposed to actually make people laugh. That is the definition of a comedy. Not go out of your way to shock or offend them. If you took out the curse words and sex references the show would be about five minutes long. You would think with the talent they have on the show it would be better but its not. And when did Christa Miller turn into the Joker? Its painful to watch. Harrison Ford is horribly miscast. Jason Segal is trying to carry the whole show. Thank goodness real therapist are nothing like these people.
Dog Gone (2023)
What is with all the hate?
" These people are terrible. They made the wrong choices . They are rich and are able to do this" Really? The movie The Titanic has rich arrogant people in it too who made a slew of wrong choices but somehow everyone loves that movie. How about the fact they made mistakes which apparently none on the haters never do. How about basing your review on the movie and not the real people its based on. Its a nice feel good movie that been done a thousand times before. The reason for that is people like to see other people find their pets. I suppose none of you have never lost a pet or anything else that was dear to you. Check yourselves.
Take Your Pills: Xanax (2022)
Hypocrosy at its finest
So, it starts out by saying we live in a society where everyone thinks they can solve all their problems by taking a pill. Then towards the end it says " Oh, dont take that pill. Take this one" You cant make this stuff up. Did I just watch a commercial for Lexapro, Celexa and Prozac? Because that's exactly what it felt like. And then the hypocritical " Therapist " Start yamming away at how bad Xanax is when they are the ones who prescribed it to begin with . If they were such great therapist their patients wouldnt need drugs to begin with. This is simply a hit piece paid for by the makers of the other drugs.
The Premise (2021)
it ok
The Premise is basically a series of shorts. Each episode (for lack of a better term) is a stand alone short film, there is no reason to watch them in order since none of the episodes have anything to do with the others.
The stories are very rich and some are quite profound. I watched them in order and the 1st episode which isn't my favorite and many of the QAnon/Trumpers which seem to dominate IMDB, might have been offended by the 1st episode and not watched further, well they would probably be offended by the whole series, since many of the episodes tackle philosophical issues which would be difficult to defend from the conservative viewpoints.
The Resident: Peek and Shriek (2022)
Seriously
Could you be anymore obvious? People watch fictional television programs to escape every day life. Since when is Kemp a millionaire who has never held office before looking to cut hospital funding? Stick to People having extremely rare medical conditions over and over and over again. Our discriminatory voting laws require people to have identification to vote. Just like you have to have to buy a gun. Or drive. Or open a bank account. If you want to get political wwhy don't you bring up inflation or astronomical fuel prices. Or maybe mention the stock market having record drops and being stagnate for oved six months.
