Sweet Magnolias: Storms and Rainbows (2020)
Season 1, Episode 10
9/10
Pretty clean show
31 May 2020
Where did all the southern accents go? Bill's accent was so slow that I actually thought I would fall asleep or pull off my face before he finished his lines. Oh...What a grave disappointment that was. I was wondering where the token gay couple was when voila there they were. I always run through a mental check off list as I watch shows. This one covered them all. Check check and check. Oh ....Best of all....I picked up a few tips to looking thinner, tent dresses with super wide belts and a hand on my hip, accentuated by a purse the size of a volkswagon. I do, however, enjoy the characters and am hoping season 2 will be on soon.

Just Our Luck (2016)

What was that mess?
10 April 2020
I knew this was a low budget movie when the creepy guy dropped off the Chinese food and handed the girl an unwrapped fortune cookie. His doofus laugh made the hair on my arms raise. And...I don't mean thus in a good way. I hope all the people involved in this film will learn from this disaster, move on and hone their crafts. I wish them Luck.

Broke (I) (2020)
Make it STOP!
3 April 2020
Somebody call a plumber. Broke is another stinker of a sitcom that is headed for the toilet. I wasted five minutes of my time watching the pilot of this one one screaming, "Please make the canned laughter stop!" Can any person out there find just one good sitcom writer? It seems to me that these newer sitcoms are killing the comedy genre. Such a shame:-(

Bless This Mess (2019–2020)

Great show...

Love it! No laugh track. No crappy loud background music. No PC preachy political agendas. Just a half hour of funny. I love the characters. It is a half hour of no violence, no bad language. And....Yes there is some nudity. I have seen those cute farm animals without pants or tops. Actually, it is the only sitcom where the the actors don't come off as trying too hard to get a laugh. I wish there more sitcoms like it.

A Christmas Princess (2019 TV Movie)

Irritating background music
2 December 2019
This was a cute little movie that was turned into a music video. If one likes music videos this one is for you. As for me I like to hear the actor's perform their lines without the "mood music". It really is distracting and adds nothing to the feelings involved in normal conversations. This was just another enjoyable movie turned into a cringe worthy torture.

The Ryan White Story (1989 TV Movie)
1/10
Another "based on a true story" that ebellishes the facts to further an agenda.
21 May 2019
The movie leaves out a few facts. The subdivision where Ryan lived was a very nice one. It was not depicted as such in the movie. Western High School is located in Russiaville, Indiana, not Kokomo. The meetings where parents voiced their concerns about exposing their children to the AIDS virus were orderly and civil. Other homes in the White's neighborhood were broken into at Christmas time. The workers at Delco Electronics donated money, that was given to Jeanne, so that she could replace the Christmas gifts that were stolen from her home. FYI...I worked at Delco. We built the circuit boards used in radios, not what looked like tire rims or whatever those were, in the movie. We actually had break rooms that contained vending machines for candy, food, pop, and coffee. (other hot drinks as well) I never saw any coffee pots sitting around. FYI.... Nor did I hear any dueling banjos. Kokomo was a booming factory town. Our wages at that time brought people from all over the country and from all walks of life. (That was before the passing of NAFTA, after which the blue collar jobs at Delco were sent to Mexico.) Most of the people in Kokomo were hard workers and known for being very charitable. Anyhow, square dancing may have been popular, somewhere, but not so much in Kokomo. I really took offense to the whole city being shown in such a negative light. Everyone that I knew had compassion for Ryan and only wanted the best for him. If some people didn't feel that way, I am sure they were in the minority. I wish the "based on a true story" movies were not slanted to further an agenda of some sorts. I am pretty sure that the facts about AIDS could have been addressed in a way as to not bring hatred toward an entire city. I have since moved to a different state and still hear from others how horrible Kokomo is. It definitely isn't LA, but to that I say, Thank God it is not!
