Diary of a Mad Black Woman (2005)
Remarkable work!
WOW! This is one of the best movies I've seen in a while. When a movie can make me go back & forth from crying to laughing as this one did, I am impressed! Kimberly Elise was just wonderful. I thought she had major potential when I saw her in "Set it off". I was right, she has become such a terrific actress. Shemar Moore, great as usual and FINER than ever! And Tyler Perry just had me in tears laughing! I think 'MEDIA' is one of my favorite characters of all time. But honestly, all the actors were just super. The story was excellent and unique which seems to be pretty rare these days. I don't know how many more remakes or take-offs on T.V. shows I can stand anymore. I hope to see more movies like this one come out. Definitely see it - you will not be disappointed!
Hair Show (2004)
Excellent and highly underrated!
This movie was so underrated, I just can't believe it! I loved every minute of it from beginning to end. Mo'nique did such an amazing job. For the most part she was her usual funny & crazy self, but she did also have some serious parts and I was so impressed. She even had me in tears during one scene - no lie! The rest of the cast were all very good as well. Also many people I appeared in quick 'few minute' scenes throughout the movie which was cool. Some were Vivica A. Fox, comedian Bruce Bruce, Serena Williams, super fine Bryce Wilson (from Beauty Shop-mmm!), E-40 (my favorite rap star) and many more! The story was also very good. Don't pay attention to this films ratings.. it was an excellent movie!
Ralphie May: Just Correct (2004)
The real winner of "Last Comic Standing"...
...As far as I am concerned and also the rest of my family, Ralphie should have been #1. Dat Phan is funny, but no comparison to Ralphie May. This DVD was just hilarious! We were laughing from the beginning to the end - If you're easily offended by racial jokes you might want to pass on this one, he definitely targets all of us (kind of like Carlos Mencia does) which I think is great!
Black Knight (2001)
way under rated...this movie is FUNNY!!!
I can't understand why so many people are SO critical of all Martin Lawrence's movies! He is one of the funniest moviestars out there and he was absolutely PERFECT for this movie! This movie is definitely under rated on this site... I laughed through the whole film and I do plan to buy it.
The Queens of Comedy (2001)
**** FUNNY !!!! ****
ALMOST as funny as "Kings of Comedy" Sommore and Adele Givens were absolutely wonderful. I could definitely watch this over & over. I heard they had all different material when they were at the Paramount in Oakland. I just wish they would have made more than one video!
The Original Kings of Comedy (2000)
How many times can I watch this?....
I've probably seen it 20+ times already. In fact, we're watching it right now. Cedric is doing his "parallel parking" This movie is one of my favorite comedy tapes ever...and I have a lot of them. I have the whole collection of "Def Comedy Jams" & all kinds of stand-up comedy. This is one that I can watch over & over & over. I'll probably have to buy a new tape! All 4 comedians we're excellent (including the host - STEVE HARVEY!)
**The "KANGS" (not the kings) need to come to San Francisco!!!!!!!
Arthur (1981)
I will never get tired of this movie as long as I live...
I can't even say how many times I have watched it but I always laugh myself to tears every time I see this movie! It is also such a cute love story. Dudley Moore, Liza Minelli and John Gielgood are all so funny! Arthur 2 is almost as funny too. I wish I know more couples like the hysterical couple Dudley & Liza play in the movie.
A Time to Kill (1996)
I've seen this movie about 7 times...
and each time I cry more. I don't want to write a book like so many others did here. It is simply a wonderful movie with some wonderful actors! Out of the 400-450 movies that I own, this is one of the 20 that I can watch over & over again.
