The Twelve Chairs (1970)
Much Better Than Expected
I rented this film because it was the only Mel Brooks movie I hadn't seen. I had enjoyed all of his other movies and thought,"Why not see 'em all?" I thought since I hadn't heard of it it would be stupid. And, Man, was I wrong. This movie could be described as hilarious. I loved it. And it's not exactly like all other Mel Brooks movies. If you like Mel Brooks I recommend this film to you. Dom DeLuise is hilarious in this. Now go watch it with your family.
Dirty Work (1998)
one of the funniest movies ever
This movie is sooooo funny. I love every single thing the main characters do to get back at people. Norm MacDonald is a really funny guy. I like the acting in this movie. It is absolutely horrible, but that's what makes the movie so funny. This movie has a lot of funny people in small roles (Chris Farley, Chevy Chase, Don Rickles, Adam Sandler, and John Goodman). My favorite character in this movie is Jack Warden's. I love how the only thing he thinks about is whores. I also love all the references to prostitutes from Norm in this movie. My favorite part is MEN IN BLACK Who Like to Have Sex With Each Other. I laughed so hard after that. I just couldn't stop. I recommend this movie to anyone with a sense of humor. Well that's all.Good bye.
A.I. Artificial Intelligence (2001)
No Good(Spoilers)
I went to this movie because I am a big fan of both Spielberg and Kubrick. I payed for my whole family. I'm really glad it was a matinee.$28 down the drain. That's horrible. Not only was the movie not entertaining or good, It went on for 2 1/2 hours. This was probably the biggest disappointment of a movie I have ever seen. For you who haven't seen it, don't. It's not even worth the cheap theater. It's not even worth the new release rate. Just wait til it gets off the new release shelf.
Thunderball (1965)
good bond movie
This is a really good bond film. It's one of the best ones until that extremely boring underwater scene. this movie has all the classic bond personalities like the dry martinis and the women and his suaveness. After the underwater scene, which can be entertaining at times, the ending is not bad at all. Overall I like this movie. A big portion of the likableness of this movie is that Sean Connery adds many more of those funny one liners James Bond is famous for.
Jurassic Park III (2001)
different(may contain spoilers)
This movie was fun. Me and my cousins made fun of it from beginning to end.I though it should've been longer. Both scenes where Sam Neill escapes (or gets rescued from Tarzan) from the raptors were incredibly stupid. I think the flaw of this movie was that the makers made the raptors a little too smart. But other than that it was worth cheap night.
High Anxiety (1977)
great spoof
the first time i watched this movie i thought it was pretty stupid.last night i watched it again.i thought it was hilarious.i got many more jokes that i didn't get the first time.if you like hitchcock or mel brooks you will like this film.
Dr. No (1962)
one of the best James Bond films
One of the best James Bond movies. It's the first. In this one Bond, played by Connery, is more serious than in other films. He is more alert and many small things (like licking a strand of hair over closet door) add a nice touch that the other movies fail to achieve. Connery is the youngest actor ever to play Bond. When the movie was made he was not yet a star, so I believe this to be his best acting effort. Jack Lord plays the best Felix Leiter. He was asked to come back in GOLDFINGER, but he demanded too much money. Ursula Andress, Honey Rider, was completely dubbed over (not that it matters). Anyway the story goes like this. Energy waves are interfering with a missile launch site, 007 is sent to Jamaica to investigate. As he is finding the truth you get everything from thrilling car chases to poisonous spiders to dragons that run on diesel. He has problems with his new gun-Walther PPK. And to set the standard he starts the movie by gambling and the trademark phrase "Bond, James Bond." Then he continues standardizing Bond with women and dry martinis (shaken, not stirred) throughout the film. This film is a true classic. I give it 9/10.
How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
the story was changed too much
i didn't like the movie very much. the only thing it had in common with the original story was the makeup. the makeup artist did a very good job. the story was changed completely. i was very disappointed with the movie
