The Dukes of Hazzard: Hazzard in Hollywood (2000)
not worth watching
i saw the 2 reunion movies one after the other. The first one was very well done: the general jumped and the cast were looking in good health. In this movie, Luke has a goatee and the general only jumps once. To make it worse the dukes sing, rosco is loving his dog and there is no Uncle Jesse. The way that they didnt even mention his passing till the end of the movie was awful- no one even talked about him!!!!
If you want to see the dukes in their prime watch the series. If you want to see them back together again see the first reunion movie. You will be sad if you watch the second one as such a great show has been killed.
But it could have been worse- coy and vance duke show up too!!!
Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace (1999)
a long wait for nothing
After years of waiting for this to come out i was sadly dissapointed for many reasons.
Anikin's acting was very wooden- they should have gotten the kid from the 6th sense to do the role- then the film would have been a bit better. Darth Maul was a pathetic villan, after waiting almost 15 years for this film, i expected a better character development on behalf of Lucas' team.
When will Lucas realise that Visual Effects dont make a movie, good script and acting do!!! My suggestion for George is to develop a better script and cast some people who can act, if he wants episode 2 to be as sucessful as the first 3.
Grease 2 (1982)
Poorman's attempt!
I found this film awful for many reasons, the music was pathetic('Cool rider'- wasnt as good as 'Grease lightning' now was it?), the actors were poor copies of the originals(Reminded me of Coy and Vance from the Dukes of Hazzard!!!) and the film had no heart.
i think it would have been better if they made Grease 2 into a high school reunion. Maybe they will do that in the 3rd one. Wouldn't it be great to see Travolta back with Olivia?
Supersonic Man (1979)
closest thing to 1980!
Supersonic man was made for the people waiting for Superman II(1980). It rips off the original Superman film in many scenes, but is still quite a good watch if you like superhero movies. The FX of our hero flying were not that great- however still far superior than Superman IV. Overall, not a bad film.
Shaft (1971)
2000 version is better!
i saw this the other day- what a waste of time. Dated dialogue, bad script and the camera work looks very dodgy- as if a 5 year old is opperating it!!! Roundtree's acting was the best- the rest of them looked as if they were reading dummy cards. Some of the scenes also looked as if they were making it up as they went along!!!
I liked the oscar winning theme song by Hayes, and Shaft's Cool jacket still looks funky today, however Shaft 1971 is waaaay past it's used by date!
