Adventures of Wild Bill Hickok (1951)
Sugar Corn Pops - Shot with sugar, through and through
When these programs began they were sponsored by Kellogg's Sugar Corn Pops which had a really snappy jingle stating the cereal had been ' shot with sugar, through and through ' and where Guy Madison as Wild Bill Hickok would shoot straight at the camera as if he was doing the loading of the sugar in the sugar pops ...
Originally called Sugar Pops in 1951, this name was later changed to Sugar Corn Pops, and then to Corn Pops, during a time when many cereals dropped the word Sugar from their titles ...
This process helps to prevent the Pops from going stale and from secreting a sticky substance that causes the corn pops to stick together (a problem caused by the method that the cereal is processed)...
Being a lifelong cereal eater I can attest to them tasting very much better back in that era than they have since the 1970s and today should not even be considered a decent cereal at all, unfortunately.
Flight 90: Disaster on the Potomac (1984)
A Moment In Time
I was scheduled to be on this exact flight, returning to Florida from Washington after doing some military research at the Pentagon, however due to a family health problem canceled out two days before ...
Have thought of this moment many, many times over these last now 25+ years in wondering " what if " ...
This docudrama sets out the most important facts of that horrible day in very close detail ... It may possibly have been better, however it does tell the true story ...
The major miracle is that there were 5 survivors and even more most heroic men and women who took it upon themselves to throw themselves into this unbelievable rescue operation ... They are the real and true heroes of that day ...
The Raiders of Leyte Gulf (1962)
RANKS AS ONE OF WORST FILMS EVER RELEASED
In actual fact this film was not released ... it escaped !!!
If you have never viewed this cinematic disaster you have been spared seeing one of the very worst film efforts to ever be turned out.
There is no proper way to accurately describe just how awful this film really is but suffice it to say that over 20 minutes of the 80 minutes of the total running time is much of the same footage, just with the negative flopped over, so that battle action running down a hill rushing off to the right at first then later appears again as battle action running down the same hill but rushing off to the left this time.
Seldom seen on TV it is really a total mystery as to how this actually now appears on the open in video form.
Would not think they have sold too many of this ridiculous effort.

The Man and the Challenge (1959)
A Remembrance for George Nader - 1921-2002
With the death of GEORGE NADER, on 4 February 2002, I thought of this most interesting program, which even though it had only a short run, was a tremendous idea with good story lines throughout. Generally unseen for over 40+ years it would be worth viewing again. The opening credits showed many differing images, one of which was a snippit of COLONEL JOHN PAUL STAPP, riding his famed rocket sled, at the point where he was often referred to as "The Fastest Man Alive".
Out of the Past (1947)
DEATH OF JANE GREER
With the death of JANE GREER, on 24 August 2001, thus ends the life of ' The Queen of Film Noir '...A sultry brunet with luminous, suggestive eyes, possibly a HEDY LAMARR look-alike, she was fantastic in " OUT OF THE PAST "...She appeared in only 24 films, however, many are well worthy of review should one be presented with the opportunity...Look for her in, " THEY WON'T BELIEVE ME ", " THE PRISONER OF ZENDA ", " MAN OF A THOUSAND FACES ", " THE SHADOW RIDERS ", and " AGAINST ALL ODDS "...Born BETTEJANE GREER, she was one of the last of the greats...
Once More, with Feeling! (1960)
A GREAT UNSEEN CLASSIC COMEDY !!!
This is the last film made by Kay Kendall, in which she really excelled.....Possibly one of the two or three best films ever for Yul Brynner.....and, a fine performance by one of filmdom's great character actors, Gregory Ratoff.....The subject of this great unseen classic comedy is the story of Victor Fabian (Brynner) as one of the world's greatest conductors, whose townhouse is chock-a-block with hundreds of photos and paintings of himself in ever room, throughout.
This film should be considered a must-see.....Hardly ever seen on television it has popped up in special showings with other top comedies such as " The Trouble With Harry "
Pro Football (1934)
A GREAT OLDE-TYME FOOTBALL MOVIE
This is one of the famous Pete Smith Movies.....Appearing in this film are some of the greats who played in the early days of the NFL.....including, BRONKO NAGURSKI, possibly one of the greatest players in the long history of the NFL.....If you have the opportunity to view this historic film I would highly recommend doing so.....Not many like this were produced.
