The Circle (2002)
Enjoyable, suspenseful, well acted
I would have given this movie a higher rating if there had not been so much smoking, which I consider irresponsible. Everyone in this movie was above average in their acting. Treat Williams was especially good, but he always is. Too many reviewers compare this movie with others, saying it is weaker for one reason or another. Don't compare movies like this - that's not what a review is for. A movie should stand on its own merits. I honestly think these people are just trying to show how many similar movies they've seen because it makes them feel better informed and smarter than the average reviewer. Guess what? They're not!
7th Heaven (1996)
One of the best shows EVER
I love this show for a multitude of reasons. Most of them have been mentioned in the other comments so I won't repeat. But the primary reason is because every time I watch this show I feel good after the episode is over. I have watched something constructive, inspiring, morally uplifting - more than any other show that I can think of. A lot of the nitpicking that I have read in the comments is really lame. You criticize the stealing of a glass because this restaurant has lots of glasses. The point of the story is that it is wrong to steal. The writers had to have the character steal something! Each moral issue is dealt with in a specific way. It is easy to criticize the individual way that was chosen, but a way had to be chosen! Sometimes the solution to the latest family crisis is arrived at more quickly than it would probably be in real life, but the show very seldom carries an issue into the next episode. This is what is so great about the show. I feel good about this situation because the problem was solved now, not next week. My only criticism is there are too many reruns. They need to film more episodes each season.
Twenty One (2000)
The best game show on TV at the present time.
Millionaire is a good show, but come on! It is not as good as Twenty One. Why? Because you have two people competing against each other - not one person spending a lot of time contemplating (boring) and staring at Regis. Because occasionally the two contestants get a chance to answer the same question if they pick the same level of difficulty. There is no limit to the money they can win. All the contestants will most likely be chosen - if they miss one night, they carry into the next - not like being one or two out of ten, and the rest go home. But I still think the big edge is the one-on-one competition.
The Darwin Conspiracy (1999)
A very entertaining movie
No academy awards for this one, but it was entertaining and kept my interest throughout - which is what a movie is supposed to do. The acting was also pretty good. I was especially impressed with Robert Floyd, who played the mentally challenged brother of Jason Brooks.
Less Than Zero (1987)
This is a very bad movie
Bad directing, very bad acting. Not even Morton, James and Nicholas could save this disaster. Its sad to hear such badly written dialogue come out of these gifted actor's mouths. A very appropriate title for this movie.
