Mystic River (2003)
A personal triumph for all involved. One of 2003's best.
A film of shattering, emotional wallop and brevity. As with Unforgiven, Eastwood has taken the theme of violence and explored how it can affect the victims involved, and the hypocrisy over who processes it.
I underwent a similar trial by fire as Tim Robbins and the years it took for me to cope have been countless. I urge every parent, child, and person to see this film. You won't regret it. Brian Helegeland screenplay alone deserves an Academy Award nomination.

Roller Coaster Rabbit (1990)
The best of all the Roger Rabbit shorts
I saw this back in 1990 before "Dick Tracy" started. I must tell you, "Roller Coaster Rabbit" is the best of the shorts. If your lucky, you can find the video Disney released over five years ago on eBay containing all three shorts starring are famous hare and Baby Herman.
I like this one the most because of the risks Rob Minkoff and crew took with the sight gags and risque humor. I mean how can you not laugh at dear Roger when he makes an orthodontist joke. My only problem with this short is the rating. PG? C'mon MPAA, if you start censoring cartoons what's next - more mindless action films getting safe ratings when they deserve the R? Anyway, check it out. And Disney, if your reading this: greenlight more Roger Rabbit shorts, or better yet, a sequel to his film. The fans deserve it.
Scary Movie 2 (2001)
EXTRA, EXTRA!! Sequel outdoes predecessor!
Once in a great lifetime, a sequel to the hugely successful film knows all the great punchlines to target and relishes them till no more. "Scary Movie 2" is such a case. The original, released July 7, 2000, was a surprise and made $40 million opening weekend. While it spoofed the teenage slasher genre quite diligently, I felt the lowbrow levels of humor went wayward and failed. To my avail, "Scary Movie 2" was nearly bathed in lowbrow from head to toe, but the experience this time was more enthralling. In closing, if in the case you cannot ingest the film after the first ten minutes, then leave the theater and ask for a refund. Still, I must contend that you endure the pre-title "Exorcist" spoof sequence. Why? Two words: James Woods. He was always on fire, just as the film.
The Adventures of Ford Fairlane (1990)
Rock N' Roll has never looked better.
Well, I must admit that I took the critics advice back in 1990 and avoided this superhero comedy. But after watching it tonight, this is pure laughs. How can you not love the Hearst car chase as a gulity pleasure? The Dice is a riot. And judging from its respectable box office, a sequel was a must. Ebert should be ashamed for giving it one star. I give it a suave***
Wonder Boys (2000)
He did it!!!
Curtis Hanson made it. He followed up his success to 'L.A. Confidential' with this sweet story of a beatnik, mostly stoned Professor Grady Tripp who had fame seven years ago with a top-selling book and finds a prodigy in an oddball student of his class and has many adventures with him. The movie ends up being the red velvet cake of 2000 and possibly destined to become a classic.
And in a good supporting role is Robert Downey Jr as Grady's gay book editor. Also Katie Holmes is nice as one of Grady's students. My grade- A
The Insider (1999)
How can you not sympathize?
Probably left in the dust come Academy Award time. 'The Insider' is #4 best film of the year. The ending alone is just as good as 'Casablanca's.' The best slow-motion ending of all-time.
The World Is Not Enough (1999)
00-Disappointment
One of the most anticipated movies of the year has become the most manipulative movie of the year. Pierce Brosnan is back as 007 in TWINE. He looks comfortable for the third round, but I wasn't. The film opens in Bilbao, Spain. Our hero is making a deal that invovles an oil tycoon and a bunch of rich scum. After this, it leads to a boring boat chase. When viewing this facist stunt sequence, I thought the movie was going to get better. Oh boy! Was I wrong. Trying to critique this movie wasn't hard. It's not as lurid as 'Goldeneye', but its no 'Tomorrow Never Dies'. The only merits this film has are the pipeline sequence and Sophie Marceau. Denise Richards, the second to worst Bond girl in history. **1/2
Law & Order: Special Victims Unit (1999)
Top-Notch Chemistry
I just saw the pilot last night and I must say , IT'S SO MUCH BETTER THAT "LAW AND ORDER"! "Special Victims Unit" main stars(Meloni & Hargitay) have such great compatibility on tv. I surely do hope that they can develop a romantic fling for one another .
3 Men and a Little Lady (1990)
The most charming film ever .
This is Emile Ardolino's best film . He directed 'Sister Act'. But this shines brighter . Here's some food for thought. Look at the scene very closely ,in which Selleck & Guttenberg are trying to put Mary to bed . Selleck says s*it twice . I was really surprised that this movie got past the MPAA with a PG rating after that . But I'm not offended
Batman & Robin (1997)
Worthy Sequel
I believe that many critics were tough on this movie . But , I must admit that there are only three reasons to see this movie .
1) George Clooney as Batman - Hey ! It sure beats the hell out of Val Kilmer's portrayal . 2) Alicia Silverstone - The only female that sure looks sexy in the the Batgirl costume . 3) The sleek yet unbelievable Batmobile .
