Saving Private Ryan (1998)
one of the best war movies ever made
The film starts off with (to me with one of the most well directed scenes in the film) the invasion of Normandy or D DAY. It's something that you can't explain but you have to see. As sat watching the first 25 minutes of the movie, ( if seeing this film, have great surround sound room, no interruptions) i never was so impacted by a film. Steven Speilberg is a living legend. He won my total respect with this film. The film is situated around 8 men trying to find Private Ryan. The reason why is because his 3 other brothers who went to the war all died in battle. So he gets to go home free. I'm never watching the Academy Awards after who I heard won best picture. I give this film A+
Image of an Assassination: A New Look at the Zapruder Film (1998)
26 seconds captured on a home camera shocks the world
Now finally the famous Zapruder film is available to own to the public. The original film was taken and digitally restored. It now shows a clear view of every movement of Kennedy and Conally. This film proves that there had to be a conspiracy to the killing of the president. I recommend this to film, its definitely to own!!
Face/Off (1997)
One of the best movies of 1997
FBI agent Sean Archer (John Travolta) is a man who has spent a good ten years tracking down Castor Troy (Nick Cage)who is a terrorist. The reason. Troy was shooting to kill Archer. But instead shot Archer and his son. His son died and Archer never been right since that day. This movie couldn't have been done without director John Woo. I love the way Woo directs the gun fight scenes. Travolta and Cage do excellent performances. I give it an A
Heat (1995)
Pacino, Deniro, oh man!!!!
this movie was so good beacause they have two of the best actors of our time in one film together. This movie also includes Jon Voight, Val Kilmer, and Tom Sizemore. Robert Deniro plays as a robber, Val Kilmer and Tom Sizemore are his friends who help out with the bank hiest's. Al Pacino plays as the cop who's out to stop him. the gun fight scenes are well directed. If you have a good entertainment system, this movie is to own!! B
Maximum Overdrive (1986)
I love it!!!
One of my favorite movies of all time. It's only one of the few movies that I can watch over and over. A meteor passes over the earth causing all the man made machinery to go ballistic. and the story centers upon a group of people stranded in a truck stop in North Carolina. What i loved about the movie is the whole world is messed up, in the basement of the truck stop they have an arson full of weapons. So imagine if that happens right now.. You have so many weapons and explosives and the whole world gone mad. I would have a lot of fun!! Not to mention this was Stephen King's first directing effort, and not a bad attempt. i give it a B
Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (1998)
A brilliant film
A Terry Gilliam film, Johnny Depp stars as Duke Rahul, and Benicio del Toro as Dr. Gonzo. Duke and Dr Gonzo go to Las Vegas to find the American dream. Along with them they bring a suit case full of drugs that contain mescaline, ether, acid, maarijuana, cocaine etc.. etc. this movie is very funny, but then again scary cause this actually happen. The two leading stars did an excellent performance. I give it a 9 out of 10
RoboCop 3 (1993)
oh boy!!! this movie is horrible!!
The first two where great. Fred Decker was a great Robocop. Then Orion Pictures goes and makes a pg-13 Robocop 3 which aims only for young kids, which totally sells out on the built in audience the first two movies had. Then the low blow was having Robert John Burke as Robocop. There was no chemistry between Robocop and officer Ann Louis which the first two films had. The highlight of the film was when Robocop flies!!! You can see the strings, and the blue screen!! That's a great film. I give it a D-
Silent Night, Deadly Night (1984)
A very underrated horror film
This movie freaked me out when I was young. I just got a chance to see it again. I still had that same feeling. It's Christmas Eve and a little boy and his family go see their (missing a few marbles) grandpa. He scares the heck out of the little boy saying that Santa Claus punishes the bad.
This film is very freaky, all true horror fans should see it. Stirred alot of controversy at the time of its release. I give it a B+
Very Bad Things (1998)
A great but sick film
6 friends go to Las Vegas to have one of their best friends bachelor party. They have what parties usually consist of, food, music, alchohol, and of course, drugs. And a hooker. The hooker first does a little dance for them, and who ever wants to have sex, they pay 500 dollars. The character played by Jeremy Piven can't take it anymore. His urge for sex has taken him over. So he's having sex with her and by accident, slams the girls head into a coat hanger spike, killing her instantly. They decide that the best thing to do is bury her out in the desert. Things go from bad to worse. the movie is one of my favorites, but there is a big audience out there that hates movies like this. Cameron Diaz does an awesome performance as the character she plays. Christian Slater is just evil. I recommend this movie to the the Pulp Fiction audience. i give it a B+
Blades (1989)
more funny than scary!!!
another cheesy but hilarious film by TROMA. This film is nothing but a funny remake of JAWS. Instead of a shark, it's a pumped up lawnmower, instead of on a beach, it's a golf club course. This film is not to be taken seriously, but if u do watch it, there will be an urge to turn off the movie. At least forward it to the part were they start to hunt the "lawnmower". (just like in jaws)Instead of a boat, it's a van. I'm very surprised the actors and actresses sign on to make a film like this. Again, this movie is not to be taken seriously!!!!!
