Strange Angel (2018)
I don't understand why this show only has a 6.9
This show is fascinating and top notch in every way script/acting/production. I hope it is finding its audience and gets to finish telling it's amazing story!
Indigo (2003)
Sets unrealistic expectations of Indigo children
I heard this movie was made for only $500,000 and shot in only 3 weeks or so. Keeping this in mind I feel on a technical level they did the best they could with such limited resources. I know if they had more money and time they could have gotten better actors or at least better performances out of the existing ones (i did notice most of the smaller roles seemed to have better actors than the major roles hmmm).
My biggest concern about this film is that it sets unrealistic expectations of the capabilities of indigo children. The girl in the film professes that she is actually at the lower end of the ability scale and that there are others much more gifted than herself.
I feel it would have been more fair to say she was more gifted than most and that the gifts of most indigo children actually center around having a more general deep intuitiveness and spiritual knowledge.
I worry that most people will now dismiss or overlook the indigo phenomenon when they don't see children running around predicting the future, healing the sick and communicating telepathically with other indigo children around the world via the etheric web.
Hellraiser: Inferno (2000)
Hellraiser 5 and 6 arent really "Hellraiser" movies now are they?
With 5 and 6 it really seems like someone presents a script to the studio and the studio goes "hmmm why dont we throw in 3 minutes worth of Hellraiser stuff and we can market this as a Hellraiser sequel?" These stories could almost stand on there own if slightly modified without any ideas from the Hellraiser world, Is the make-up effects budget so low for these filmes that they can only give the cenobites a few minutes of total screen time in the whole movie? I would love to see new sequels written from the start with the Hellraiser universe in mind, and not some cheesey cop/detective/gumshoe/who-dunit with sex scenes for the male demographic crap. And thats all I have to say about that.
Beowulf (1999)
this movie had so much potential but sadly it busted.
The film opened with a terrible techno soundtrack. The sets and locations were perfect and the costumes were gorgeous. The world they created had an amazing blend of Future and Past but then... the actors started speaking. The techno soundtrack cheapened the film reducing it to teenage hoopla. a serious score could have made this movie so much better. if they would have taken the film more seriously and had all of the actors more focused on making more gothic and mysterious performances, as opposed to using typical ghetto slang and gestures, it would have easily helped this movie become a cult classic.
