A confused kid in a confused world
16 July 1999
Tom Cruise stars in this 80's teen flick that was popular for its time and still has a good message to this very day. Tom playing the innocent Joel Goodson, a kid that is on his way to making it big and getting into a good college until he meets up with the call girl Lana(Rebecca De Mornay). This movie just goes to show you how certain decisions can have different impacts on how the overall picture turns out, and Joel sees and realizes just that. The show was cast perfectly and the music adds to spice the movie up. This is a Warner Bros. classic and I think anyone in their right mind should see it.

Definitely not what I expected.....

Usually you hear about movies that have some sort of feel good quality to them, but this one just didn't do that for me. Although Bill Paxton and Billy Bob Thorton played terrific roles as two guys living in a small northwestern town that seem to have no morals, ( at least that's what it seemed like in the movie ) this one just had a weird feeling to it. The small town gave this movie more of an errie feeling - kind of like Fargo - you can see some similarities between the two. But I guess I can see where this movie is coming from. This movie explained to me about the consequences of the decisions you make and how they may effect your life even more in the future. It just seemed like Billy Bob and Paxton made one wrong decision, then another, and then even more, digging a deeper hole for them each time they did something. If I could describe this movie in a phrase I would absolutely say it's the "Feel Bad Movie of the Year."

Definitely the feel good romantic comedy of the year!

You've Got Mail was a terrific film about surprise, love, and competition. As the movie progresses, you become more and more anxious and interested about the romantic chemistry between Hanks and Ryan. Many laughs also contribute to the relationship that forms between the two. It starts off very rocky between both Ryan and Hanks and it is impossible to see how they could ever get together under such intense circumstances, but that makes it all the more fun to watch. If you are looking for your so called "chic flick" or romance story, then You've Got Mail is the one romance comedy that you've definitely got to see!!!
