Wholesome, sweet, funny, and great to watch more than once.
3 August 2003
The pairing of Cusack and Beckinsale was indeed perfect for this movie. Never over-played by either made the movie. You would love to see another movie starring this pair, like the Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan films. The beauty of Kate Beckinsale brings tears to your eyes. Cusack always mesmerizes in stories like this. He is very likeable.

Hard To Think Of A Film Worst Than This
23 December 2001
If you tried to make a bad film, you could not make one worst that this one. I can't imagine anyone paying good money to see trash like this in a theater. The thing that really gets you is being mesmerized in looking at the entire thing just for the amazement of seeing how lousy it could get. The redeeming facet of this film was seeing the words "The End"

A Really Good "Feel Good" Film
23 December 2001
The simpleness, and wholesomeness of this film makes it a treat to watch. The music and songs make it even more enjoyable, and the beauty of Jeanne Crain in this film would make your eyes water. A rare film with Dick Haymes who was always underrated as a singer. I feel lucky to have a VHS copy of this film.

Oscar Worthy For Nicole
22 December 2001
The fact that Nicole Kidman was not even nominated for an Oscar for this performance is a miscarriage of justice. Her opening monologue is a classic. Her portrayal alone of a self-indulgent, conceited, ambitious killer makes the film a winner. This was Nicole at her best and her role went a long way to make me a fan of hers for life.

Great film about teens during the 1920s
14 December 2001
This movie made me a fan of Jeanne Crain when I was 13. She showed a talent here for light comedy. The bloomer bit was hilarious. It was a "feel good" movie and although I have not seen it for years I remember it well. Too bad it is not in VHS. I surely would buy a copy.

Little Gems Do Exist.
17 August 2001
Warning: Spoilers
Once in a great while you go to the library hoping you will find a gem of a movie that will surprise you. This movie is that gem. it mesmerizes you from start to finish. I have always been the incorrigible romantic and this movie touches you. Based on a short story by Jack Finney, who seems to be engrossed in writing stories that transcend time, for example his novel "Time And Again", this film does not disappoint. The ending was perfect, but yet you did not want it to end, and that the story would go on, and show the romance develop between the Scott Denby character and the girl he meets in the graveyard, (Beth), who is like Elizabeth Whitcomb, his link to the past. However, I am very satisfied how the movie ended. It gave me that little tear of happiness, and the boost to write about it here. I highly recommend thsi film to all the lovers out there, who will find that love really has no limits.

Good Movies Are Back
25 March 2001
An thoroughly mesmerizing performance by Emma Thompson, Audra McDonald, Jonathan Woodward, Christopher LLoyd and the rest of the cast. The story of a terminal cancer patient who can retain her sense of humor is something to behold. Your deepest feeling for her plight is aroused, and you can only feel as helpless as she is while watching her suffering. Audra McDonald, who is best known as a Broadway singer with the voice of an angel, should get more roles after this performance. See it, and weep.

Jane Seymour's performance
11 February 1999
I enjoyed the full depiction of John Steinbeck's book. Seymour's performance was flawless and possibly the best she has ever done. She is the only actress who ever made my hair stand on end portraying the scary, evil character of Kathy Ames. This is one of the best mini-series ever made, and the cast of actors perfect for each role.
