Looks great, less filling
1 February 2005
I must say, I loved the looks of the movie. Every scene was truly a work of art. But, the movie was flat, unengaging, and slow. Gwyneth Paltrow's performance was really bad. Her reactions were inconsistent with her character and she delivered her lines like she was reading them for the first time. The other actions were very good, but Paltrow's lack of acting ability really annoyed me. Jolie was barely in the movie, but when she was on screen she was great. The rest of the cast worked rather well and their performances were enjoyable. Now to the bigger complaint, the movie was boring. While every scene was truly art, it was like staring at a painting each scene, nothing really happened. You see the background, actors come one screen, deliver lines, thats it. No other interaction, no movement, nothing to draw my attention. It is a cool technique how they made it, but other than that, there isn't a movie there.

Over-hyped beyond what I thought could be
15 November 2004
I am 23 years old, saw Fahrenheit 9/11, have friends in the military, and I voted for Bush. This film wasn't just bad, I can deal with bad films if they make a point, it was downright insulting to my intelligence. The connection that Moore tried to make with Bush and the Bin Ladens is where I stopped believing this movie could present evidence. So a guy who didn't take a medical exam in the 70's with Bush, invests money into Bush's business, but, heres the kicker, that man received money from the Bin Laden family, one of the wealthiest families in the world to invest. That is reaching for something that isn't there. I guess if you hate a leader enough you are willing to overlook the lengths Moore went to make a connection. Anyway, even disregarding the political stuff and looking at this film objectively(which I tried to so, probably not with much success), it is boring to the informed, disjointed, and sad really that someone would devote an entire film to hatred of another. I liked Bowling for Columbine even though I disagreed with its message, it was a cool way of looking at the events. Fahrenheit wasn't entertaining and was another example of just who much out of touch some people are with society that anyone would believe the BS in this "film".

Most original show in a while
28 July 2004
First, I am a 22 year old college student, and I love this show. I originally started watching Jimmy Neutron when I was babysitting, and I was amazed at how much more entertaining the show was than prime time TV. The inventiveness of the writers in coming up with new gagets and gizmos every week is enough to start watching the show. Then with the character development, visual gags, slick animation, the addition of real science facts and funny stories, I keep watching it. I read some other comments saying that the show was horrible and I have no idea where anyone gets that perspective other than they are mad because they have to watch a kids show. Kids show, adult show, I am still highly entertained by Jimmy Neutron. Give it a chance, you will enjoy it.

King Arthur (2004)
3/10
Besides the famous names, nothing of note in this stinker
11 July 2004
Having just wasted 2 hours and 20 minutes of my life on this film, I am ashamed that I bought into the hype. The movie was 1 hour 45 minutes of waiting for something to happen, then, a big disappointment. I think the idea of demystifying the King Arthur legend was a good start, but, focusing on a single event that probably didn't happen and wasn't that integral to the mythos of King Arthur, Merlin, his knights, and the Roman Empire was down right stupid. Take out those names and what you have left is a bad attempt to suck off the success of Gladiator. There was a lot of potential in this one, but it felt like the film makers were trying to draw out the movie and fill in time, well beyond what could be considered artistic license. I left feeling like the story never really started and hope someone else besides the team that crapped this out, makes a sequel that deals with the rule of King Arthur, because it a real shame to ruin this myth with this stinker.

Spider-Man 2 (2004)

Wow
28 June 2004
Having just seen spider man 2 at a sneak preview, I am amazed. The special effects were so amazing that it was hard to tell that there were any. The fight scene between Doc Occ and spider man was truly fantastic, probably the best special power fight scene in a movie so far. Above the action, and above the special effects was the story of how Peter Parker tries to live his life and Spidermans, the introduction of Dr. Octavious, Mary Janes career, and Harry Osborns obsession with killing spider man. Based 2 years after the first movie, Peter Parker is truly struggling being spider man, having to sacrifice everything. MJ has become a star. Harry has taken over Oscorp and is funding Dr. Octavious' (who Peter Parker idolizes) research in the hopes of making Oscorp larger than ever. If you liked the first one at all, you will love the second, and probably even if you didn't like the first one, it is that good.

Not a bad B movie
17 May 2004
I saw Pluto Nash for the first time on HBO and really enjoyed the move. It is a great B movie, cheesy plot and acting, but good action and great visual effects. It just didn't come together how I would have liked as Pluto was too much of a good guy to be a bad guy. But, there are certainly much worse movies that have been made like the Italian Job, but watching Pluto Nash, I never wanted to turn it off and watch a blank screen instead. Critics be damned, this is a good movie to watch on a rainy day. I wouldn't say to make a sequel, but the premise was solid, the lead actors good, the visuals excellent, but there is just a lack in general direction in the movie, but each scene is fun to watch. Give it a chance, don't expect a lot, and enjoy.

EuroTrip (2004)

Fun and funny
18 March 2004
I must say I liked this film. Sure, some of the bits didn't work. But, when they did, they were great. The best of the film was definetly Michelle Trachtenberg. She is pretty, carried out her role well and is ideally suited to her role as a cute girl next door. How far she has come since Harriet the Spy. The 3 other main actors, however, weren't so good. I know this is a teen movie without a lot of acting requirements, but dude, there were better actors in my high school stage crew. The supporting characters were great, if underutilized. All in all, the movie was fun. It didn't take itself seriously, and, if you watched SNL when it used to be funny, you would get a lot of the German jokes. Maybe it is because I am in college, or maybe it was because there wasn't anything out the night I saw it, but I liked Eurotrip.

Best of the Series
22 February 2004
Having just seen American Wedding for the first time on DVD, I am mad I didn't see this in the theater. American Wedding was definitely the best of all three movies. Sure, not all the cast moved on with this movie, but just like in life, not everyone from your past makes it to your present. The movie was gross, uncomfortable, and in the end made me laugh and really like the characters. The pinnacle of the trilogy is smarter, wiser, and more grown up than the previous two, but of course, it is still immature. As I graduated high school with the 1st one, was in college with the second, and am graduating with the third, I see a definite correlation between real life and the movies. You will watch, laugh, and have fun, because that is all a comedy should be about and thankfully, it is.

Kinda boring..
29 January 2004
I watched Tomb Raider 2 not expecting a deep plot or having interesting characters which is good because the movie is devoid of either. But, I was expecting action and fast pace. Tomb Raider 2 failed to deliver. I was bored throughout the movie. It wasn't a horrible movie to watch, but if I am going to see an action movie, I would like to see something interesting, not just a bunch of technically difficult shots and hard physical moves. Not really worth a rental unless you are really into Angelina Jolie, as she does make just about any movie watchable.

Funny? I think not.
14 November 2003
Watching View From the Top wasn't bad, I have seen worse movies that make feel like your in pain. It wasn't that bad, but it certainly wasn't good. Attempts at humor did not succeed and I had a hard time distinguishing this from a pure-romance movie. Other than Mike Myers, the movie just fell flat on it's face and really didn't have a strong story or good acting. The funniest part of the movie was the end credits. I would say, don't rent the movie and if it were on TV and the only other choice would be watching infomercials, pick the infomercials, it would probably be more entertaining.

Boat Trip (2002)
10/10
Very funny
20 October 2003
Boat Trip is one of the few movies I have seen in a while that offers something fresh and original. Yes it has the typical "gay" jokes, but no, the movie doesn't center on gay bashing or glorifying. It explores the subject of sexuality as just an everyday occurance and makes fun of both hetero and homosexuality. The Swedish Tanning team is a great example of reminding men what it means to be hetero. Roger Moore plays more than just a bit part in the movie, and when he is on screen, he is absolutely funny. Horatio Sanz is, in my opinion, one of the least recognized and most underutilized funny men of our time. His actions and timings always make each scene better than the last. Cuba Gooding, Jr. is excellent or course. His acting in the film is very much different than one might expect and creates another, more human, feeling to the film. Roselyn Sanchez is absolutely stunning and delivers a solid performance.

Boat Trip is not a serious film, and it is not supposed to be. I can assure you that if you are interested in seeing a surprising good and funny film, watch Boat Trip.

The Rundown (2003)

A great action film!
29 September 2003
The Rundown was one of the best new action films I have seen in years. It wasn't boring or stupid like a lot of the recent action films I have seen (Tomb Raider 2) but instead has a lot of believable action and wit. Thank god this film's action scenes don't take any ques from Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, a good film, but the fighting sucked. I would say take a look at this movie in the theature and again on video whenever you want to watch something with explotions, witty diaglog, great action scenes, and even the "Rock".

Funny
24 February 2003
I saw the movie on opening night and it was by far one of the funniest movies I have seen in a long time. I wasn't alone in this as the entire theature was laughing so much I missed some of jokes to the noise. It started fast and got slower towards the end, but never felt like it dragged. See this movie if you want to laugh and enjoy yourself!

Funny Stuff
4 July 1999
The movie is very much like the show but the language is not edited out at any point. If you cast aside the potty language you find the movie speaks out against ignorance and intolerance that is fastly becoming so popular in our society. In this movie the parents blame everyone but himself or herself for the undesirable behavior their children exhibit.

The script is very well written and funny as hell with one liners dotting the entire movie along with running jokes, such as Saddam Hussein as Satan's lover. The movie does finally reveal Kenny's face, but he is still very hard to understand. A Terrance and Philip movie starts everything and all the South Park children start swearing as a result of seeing the movie. Remember though that just because it is a cartoon and star's children, this is NOT A CHILDRENS FILM.

The Waterboy (1998)

Good film to watch
9 November 1998
The Waterboy is one of those movies that just makes you feel like you haven't wasted your time watching. It is not a great film in meaning but it made me laugh and that is all it is supposed to do. No stupid lame plot like a lot of today's movies, I don't even know if you can call it a plot in the movie, but just plain entertainment.
