Detective McAvoy keeps getting stopped by the police. One for a possible traffic violation, on another occasion two cops show up outside his house in a threatening manner.
Maybe McAvoy should had called in Internal Affairs.
It is all to do with the police closing ranks for the shooting of a young black man by the police. His offensive weapon that the cops mistook for a gun was a trumpet.
Dr Jenny Cooper is dealing with the inquest and the dead man was a family friend of McAvoy and he gives the family moral support. Hence why he is being persecuted.
Dr Cooper's handling of the case raises concerns from her superiors and she still sees the black dog. She is also bothered why she cannot remember owning such as dog in childhood.
Something about the episode just seemed a little too neat for what should be a disturbing issues about race related police brutality. At least the episode puts Dr Cooper's family stuff in the background.
