This is based on the true story of three women: Robin Ramirez, Marilyn Johnson, and Amiko "Amy" Fountain. The details were first revealed after a Tuesday morning raid in July 2012 by the Phoenix Arizona Police Department. Included in the seizures were $25,000,000 worth of fake coupons, 22 assault weapons, and 21 vehicles including a 40 foot boat.

Ramirez pleaded guilty to counterfeiting, fraud, and illegal control of an enterprise. Ramirez was sentenced to 24 months in prison and seven years of probation. In Delivery Man, Vaughn's character David Wozniak, was a habitual sperm donor and had fathered 533 children. 142 of those kids filed a joined class action lawsuit to force the fertility clinic to reveal his identity.
