Ryan Reynolds just confirmed another cameo in Deadpool 3 during the latest episode of Welcome to Wrexham. Reynolds’ Wrexham AFC co-chairman and actor, Rob McElhenney, landed a cameo role in the film. His visit to the set in London was documented in the series, however, most of the footage was heavily censored or blurred.

Update: In his first mainstream television interview in years (excerpted by THR), Kevin Spacey sat down with Chris Cuomo on NewsNation to address what’s being seen as resistance (by some) to his return to acting. While he acknowledges those who have supported him, such as Neeson and Stone, he blames fear for the fact that many have only reached out to him privately rather than publically. “But there are also people that I’ve spoken to who, they love me, they believe in me. They’ve stood with me in private… but they’re afraid to stand up. And I’ve been very fortunate that people have been honest with me about that. And I think that’s a shame, that we’ve come to a place as a society where people are afraid to say what they believe and what they feel because they’re afraid they’re going to get canceled too.

Sharon Stone, Liam Neeson and more actors are coming to the defense of Kevin Spacey and calling for his return to the industry at large. Spacey has not worked in Hollywood since being accused by several men of sexual misconduct starting in 2017. The two-part documentary “Spacey Unmasked” recently aired in the U.K. and is now streaming on Max and features previously unheard of testimonies about Spacey’s alleged sexual misconduct, including a claim that he allegedly groped another “House of Cards” actor on set.
In statements given to The Telegraph, Stone and Neeson were joined by the likes of Stephen Fry and F. Murray Abraham in their calls for Spacey’s return. Abraham himself was accused of sexual misconduct during the production of the Apple TV+ series “Mythic Quest,” which reportedly led to his firing.
“I can’t wait to see Kevin back at work. He is a genius.

Five years ago, the idea of discussing the best video game adaptations ever felt like a largely joyless task. Inevitably, you would have to lower the bar to allow room for movies and shows that you would never otherwise discuss in a positive light. There were a few genuine highlights even back then, but the perception that the majority of video game adaptations were quite bad was both widespread and largely accurate.
The situation has changed in truly remarkable ways in recent years, though. We now regularly receive video game adaptations that aren’t just good according to the standards of that criteria but are rather genuinely great movies and TV shows. Suddenly, there is a genuinely complicated discussion to be had about the best video game adaptation ever.
Before we dive into that topic, though, keep in mind that we’re limiting ourselves to movies and TV shows based on video games.

After helping to transform a soccer team and a town in Wales, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have set their sights on central Mexico as the next spot to invest in a beloved local sports franchise.
Reynolds and McElhenney have purchased a stake in Club Necaxa, the century-old Mexican soccer club that also counts Eva Longoria among its owners. The pair will work with Longoria and fellow investors Al Tylis and Sam Porter to enhance Club Necaxa’s standing and grow its profile in international sports circles at a time of heightened TV and streaming demand for soccer content. It’s understood that Longoria, the Mexican American multihyphenate, helped bring Reynolds and McElhenney into the investor group.

The rules are simple: Survive 30 days while being hunted by people attempting to kill you, and win one million dollars. As long as you're with another person, the hunters will leave you alone. This is the proposition presented to Tommy Walcott by a paid-to-be-there Andy Samberg in the Hulu film "Self Reliance." Written, directed, produced, and starring Jake Johnson, "Self Reliance" taps into the thrilling anticipation of David Fincher's "The Game," but with a lighthearted sense of humor and hell of a lot of heart that could only come from the guy who gave us Nick Miller on "New Girl" and one of the best episodes of "Mythic Quest."
Tommy decides to exploit the loophole by paying a transient man named James/Walter (Biff Wiff) to stay with him 24/7. He also encounters a woman named Maddy (Anna Kendrick) who is also playing the game, and who Tommy starts to...

Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender has massive shoes to fill with its live-action adaptation of the beloved animated series, and the same is true for the actors tasked with bringing the show’s characters to life. Of the many secondary characters in "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia," none has had quite as much interaction with the gang as Matthew "Rickety Cricket" Mara. The character first appeared in the season 2 episode "The Gang Exploits a Miracle," where fans got to know him as a former high school classmate of the younger members of the gang who had an intense infatuation with Dee (Kaitlin Olson). Called "Rickety Cricket" because he wore leg braces throughout high school, he had gone on to become a priest, but his reunion with the gang led him on a downward spiral that would lead to him becoming a drug-abusing pimp with burn-related facial scarring who lives under a bridge. Over the years, he's debased himself in just about every way, making "Sunny" fans double over with laughter in the process.

Yaya (played by Camryn Jones) just wants to walk to school with her boyfriend. Living on the South Side of Chicago in a house overflowing with family members, the only thing that gets the exhausted teen out of bed every morning is knowing Dre (Travis Wolfe Jr.) will be waiting on her stoop. The only issue: her protective brother, Mouse (Victor Musoni), doesn’t approve. He thinks her friends aren’t a good influence — they show up late to school too often, eat too much junk food, and don’t pay enough attention to their surroundings. Mouse, clearly, just wants his little sister to be safe, get good grades, and live a better life, but by intimidating Dre, he’s unwittingly snuffing out her one spark of joy — joy that manifests itself via her favorite hobby: dance.

Exclusive: Fox has handed a script commitment to animated workplace comedy Taskmasters, from Brian Keith Etheridge (The Neighborhood), Brendon Walsh (Crank Yankers), cartoonist Johnny Ryan, Fox Entertainment Studios and Fox’s Bento Box Entertainment.
Co-written by Etheridge, Walsh and Ryan, Taskmasters is a half-hour animated workplace comedy that follows a crew of lovable wackos navigating the gig economy at a fly-by-night, “we’ll do any job,” business. Rob McElhenney and his wife Kaitlin Olson were spotted walking on the paddock before the Formula 1 Grand Prix of Las Vegas race at the Las Vegas Strip Circuit.
The couple attended the race on Sunday and posted several pictures on Instagram.
McElhenney is an investor in the Alpine F1 team with Michael B. Jordan and Ryan Reynolds.
He shared a few shots of him at the event, including one with the French Alpine F1 drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon and one with him and his wife smiling side by side. He added the caption, “What a weekend! Thank you @f1 for an experience I’ll never forget. See you again really soon! @alpinef1team.”
Olson also posted a couple of pictures that showed her chatting with Gasly, Ocon and McElhenney. She additionally included a video of one of the drivers making a pit stop to get his wheels changed.

Exclusive: Lionsgate Entertainment is in final negotiations to acquire an additional ownership stake in management and production company 3 Arts Entertainment, sources tell Deadline. The exact size of the stake is unclear but it is understood to be significant. A rep for Lionsgate declined comment.
In spring 2018, indie studio Lionsgate acquired a majority (just over 50%) stake in 3 Arts, with an option to buy more/the rest five years later. The new deal, which is now being finalized after months of negotiations, ups Lionsgate’s investment in the leading management/production company in a major way without going for a full ownership.
At the time of the original 2018 investment, Lionsgate’s initial stake was valued in the $300M-$350M range. The prices of media assets like 3 Arts have gone up over the past five years, and the new acquisition followed a new valuation, a standard procedure, which I hear was higher...

Apple TV+ is raising its subscription rate 43%, from $6.99 a month to $9.99/month — exactly one year, mind you, after the streaming service enacted its very first price increase, of 40% (from its original ask of $4.99/month).
An annual Apple TV+ subscription will in turn fetch a cool $99, versus the previous $69.

Since its launch in November 2019, Apple TV+ has been one of the — is not the — best value in streaming. However, almost exactly one year after a $2 price increase, the platform is raising costs again, this time going from $6.99 to $9.99 for a monthly subscription and $69 to $99 per year; this represents a 43% increase in price. Before October 2022, the Apple TV+ rate had been just $4.99 monthly and $49.99 annually, therefore, the new price more than doubles what the cost had been just over one year ago.
Apple TV+ is raising its rate by 43% to put it more in line with other premium streaming services. The streaming service has long produced high-quality originals, but its library was far smaller than most of its competitors. The tech giant is also increasing the cost of Apple Arcade, News+, and the Apple One bundle. 7-Day Free Trial $9.99+ / month apple.com Why Is Apple TV+ Increasing Its Prices?

Apple has hiked the price of its Apple TV+ streaming service for the second time in a year.
The tech giant updated the pricing info for Apple TV+, along with its Apple Arcade and Apple News+ subscription services and Apple One bundles, on its website Wednesday. The new price of Apple TV+ is $9.99/month in the U.S., up from $6.99 previously. The annual price is increasing from $69 to $99 per year. Existing subscribers will see the price increases 30 days later, on their next billing renewal date.
Apple first raised the price of Apple TV+ for new and existing subscribers in October 2022, when it kicked the subscription from $4.99 (the price point it originally launched with in November 2019) to $6.99 per month.
“Since launching four years ago, Apple TV+ has made history for streaming services by crossing major milestones in a short span of time, thanks to its extensive selection of award-winning and broadly acclaimed series,...

With a career that goes back nearly 50 years, director Jean-Jacques Annaud was bound to run into some troublesome actors. But the French filmmaker has been relatively lucky – and it wasn’t Brad Pitt or Jude Law or Two Brothers’ Kumal and Sangha that gave him headaches, it was F. Murray Abraham.
Speaking at the Lumière Film Festival in Lyon, France (via Deadline), Jean-Jacques Annaud said that working with F. Murray Abraham on 1986’s The Name of the Rose – a 4K presentation of which was screened at the festival – was a nightmare compared to what he expected from his co-star. “Everybody warned me that Sean Connery was impossible and an extremely difficult character. He was an absolute dream and I got on with him fantastically…My only bad memory of an actor across my whole career, and I’ve directed, I think, thousands of actors, was F. The Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark episode of Wtf Happened to This Adaptation? was Written and Narrated by Andrew Hatfield, Edited by Mike Conway, Produced by Lance Vlcek and John Fallon, and Executive Produced by Berge Garabedian. Here is the text of Hatfield’s script:
Campfire tales. Town legends. Ghost stories. Whatever you want to call them, they exist as a way to tell stories from one generation to the next. They can be told at summer camp, at sleepovers, or by grandpa when he’s had an extra J & B and is feeling squirrely. They can be urban legends, embellished stories based in fact, or even just a made-up tale to illicit fright from its listeners. Los Angeles, CA – Publisher Tokyopop announced the forthcoming launch on December 14th of Captain Laserhawk: A Blood Dragon Remix, an original new boys’ love manga inspired by the Netflix anime series featuring alter egos of characters from the hit Ubisoft video games in a highly referential homage to the early 90s.
The Netflix series follows Dolph Laserhawk, a rebel super-soldier who escaped the army and planning a final big heist with Alex Taylor before they sail into the sunset. The show was created by Adi Shankar (producer of Netflix’s Castlevania series) and is currently streaming.
“I’m so thankful to Adi, Ubisoft, and Tokyopop for letting me play in this wonderful sandbox that they’ve created,” says Ben Kahn. “I can’t wait for fans to see how Dolph Laserhawk’s doomed romance began, and how it irrevocably set him on his current path.”

"It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" might be set in a gritty dive bar in South Philly, but the series costs millions of dollars to make. The network-grade camera equipment is a huge liability, especially in a neighborhood like the one where the series is set. Much of the show is shot on the set of Paddy's Pub in Los Angeles, but some parts of "It's Always Sunny" are shot on location in Philadelphia, per Collider. The cast and crew of the FX series are unafraid of taking risks, often putting their bodies and their reputation on the line for the series, but sometimes their bold authenticity comes at a price.
The only member of the "It's Always Sunny" cast who's actually from Philly is showrunner Rob McElhenney, who also stars in the show as Mac opposite series co-creators Charlie Day and Glenn Howerton. Each character in Paddy's crew gets one...

Once upon a time, in a land where the beer flows as freely as expletives are loosed, the gang from "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" became addicted to an online video game. Charlie (Charlie Day), Mac (Rob McElhenney), Dee (Kaitlin Olson), and Frank (Danny DeVito) all became obsessed with a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (Mmorpg), forgoing many of their basic needs in order to take care of their digital villages in the season 8 episode "Charlie Rules the World." The episode is hilarious, with the members of the gang battling one another online and in the real world to try and have the most powerful online avatar. And for a little while, fans of the series could join in on the ridiculous fun.

Today, Spotify, in partnership with Warner Bros. and DC, announced The Riddler: Secrets in the Dark will premiere on Tuesday, October 10 with all 8 episodes available exclusively on Spotify. The series will follow an unexpected adventure from the perspective of one of the most cunning DC Super-Villains in Gotham City, Edward Nygma voiced by Hasan Minhaj. Colman Domingo joins the cast as Batman, who begrudgingly teams up with Minhaj’s Riddler to track down a masked vigilante on the loose in Gotham City. Spoilers are hard to avoid for the second round of Welcome to Wrexham, the engaging FX series about the fate of a historic football club in northern Wales purchased by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds (of the Deadpool franchise) and Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia). While famously losing a couple of key games that ended Season 1, the Red Dragons thrillingly won promotion back to the English Football League in April after a 15-year drought — the perfect capper for these new episodes. (Credit: Getty Images) “Anyone who’s been following the Wrexham story will have seen that we got promoted,” says Humphrey Ker, the McElhenney-Reynolds pal who serves as the club’s executive director. (The comic actor also occasionally appears as Tall Paul opposite McElhenney on Apple TV+’s Mythic Quest.) “I think a big theme that will be stressed will be the challenge we faced in terms of expectations.

Lionsgate CFO James Barge said the dual Hollywood strikes are hurting revenue by roughly $30 million per quarter. While the damage is spread across several business units, the exec said management and production subsidiary 3 Arts and other television operations would be the main affected areas, at least for the near term.
“In our assumptions, we have built in an assumption that the strike goes through the September quarter,” Barge said during the company’s quarterly call with Wall Street analysts. “That was about a $30 million impact. As you can imagine, it primarily impacts our talent management business, 3 Arts, and television in that context. So, we factored that in. If it goes longer, it’s a similar impact, probably, as it rolls quarter to quarter. If it does, we’re hopeful that things get resolved and we’re back to work in the mid-fall.”

The cast of "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" have been working together for years. Half of the members of this tight-knit group are married to each other, but these boundary-pushing comedians have no qualms about their characters sleeping with people that aren't played by their spouses. However, things did get a little strange while shooting Dee and Charlie's romantic tryst in season 10. Kaitlin Olson, who plays Dee Reynolds, has been married to showrunner and co-star Rob McElhenney for over a decade. His co-creator and co-star Charlie Day is married to Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who plays the object of his character's affection, The Waitress. It was an awkward day on set, but the person who felt the most uncomfortable with the scene might surprise fans.
The scene was actually thought up by McElhenney, Olson's husband of several years at the time, he confirmed to Conan. "We've been married a long time,...

Warner Bros. Discovery CFO Gunnar Wiedenfels’ comment on Thursday that the media giant has saved $100 million since the strike began is not going over well with the actors and writers who are holding out for a better contract.
“That’s like half of what you spent on ‘The Flash’ movie that nobody saw,” “Mythic Quest” writer, actress and comedian Naomi Ekperigin told TheWrap in front of of Paramount Studios on Thursday.
“That really gets you out of the hole you put yourself into when you made the merger,” she joked.
“Community” star Charley Koontz told TheWrap: “I think it’s interesting that today $100 million, is a lot to them. That’s a great savings for them today. Before, it was a pittance, it’s not worth making anything that [will earn less than] that… But that’s also a fraction of what we’re asking for. So you know, if [Warner Bros. Discovery CEO...

“The Good Wife” and “The Good Fight” star Christine Baranski joined SAG-AFTRA’s “Rock the City for a Fair Contract” in Times Square on Monday on behalf of her series co-stars and colleagues.
Baranski started by noting that she was speaking “personally” on her experience as “a working actor” as well as for the guest and background actors she has worked with over the years. For 13 years, Baranski has played a lawyer on two shows, one on CBS (“The Good Wife”) and one on a streaming service (“The Good Fight”) — first CBS All Access and then Paramount+. Concerns having to do with streaming residuals are a central sticking point for the SAG-AFTRA strike.
“On both shows, I consider these actors my colleagues and part of our creative family. Their contribution to the series’ success was indispensable, and I am here today speaking on their behalf,” Baranski said.
“We will not live under corporate feudalism.

The perils of artificial intelligence to the entertainment industry came to San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, with SAG-AFTRA national executive director Duncan Crabtree-Ireland joining a panel of voice actors organized by Nava, the National Association of Voice Actors, to discuss the specific hazards AI is already posing to the profession.
“We’ve got to reject the idea that this is just something that’s going to happen to us and we can’t say anything about it,” Crabtree-Ireland said at the outset of the panel, about whether AI could devastate the entertainment industry. “I think it definitely could, the question is whether we’re going to let that happen.”
Along with Crabtree-Ireland and moderator and Nava board member Linsay Rousseau (“God of War: Ragnarok”), the panel, which played to a standing-room only audience, consisted of Ashly Burch (“Mythic Quest”), Cissy Jones (“The Owl House”), SAG-AFTRA negotiating committee member Zeke Alton...
