The Man Who Viewed Too Much
atlasmb16 January 2019
The tile of this episode, "Dial M for Murtaugh", is a reference to the Hitchcock film "Dial M for Murder", but this episode is actually a nod to another great Hitchcock film, "Rear Window".

Told partly in flashbacks, the story has Murtaugh thinking he witnessed a crime. Like "Rear Window", there is a reference to a newlywed couple. And it comically substitutes a dancing fat guy for Miss Torso.

Meanwhile, Cole is following his own leads regarding another crime. He is also trying to advance his love life, but his past thwarts his attempts.

As in the best episodes in this series, there is a clever combination of comedy, crime, and character development.

Great episode

Like any new pairing it takes time to find chemistry and this has continued to build. Feels like the writers are starting to handle the characters better with a better pace to the story. I am hoping we get to see a 4th season and there is quite a foundation built with lots of side stories that can be arced off. Sean William Scott has done a really good job and I hope this allows him to relaunch his career and shed Stifler typecasting.

This one was actually funny and entertaining, if the rest of the season is like this episode, the show may still have a chance to survive without Crawford.

Getting better every week!

It's took time to get the balance back after the change in cast and the fact that there's no rigs in a lethal weapon. But it's just goin from strength to strength. This week was the best by far , the comedy flowed naturally .more character development with Trish and Erika. All in all there maybe life after rigs .

Finally going in the right direction.

This season started OK, but has been going downhill since. Until this episode!

Comedy, drama, some almost romance, it's all good.

I hope they can keep it up.

Back on track.

I agree with everyone so far this episode was a welcome change. The humor was more natural and we got to see more personality out of Trish other than 'straight laced lawyer mum' all the time. I hope they continue to develop the other characters especially Avery - he seems to to have been reduced to a doormat.
