Definitely giving it another chance
sabelinski26 September 2018
I was upset to hear that they fired Clayne Crawford "Riggs", but I was skeptical about the show to begin with. How you going to take Lethal Weapons iconic characters and make it a weekly your show. But they did it and I looked forward to some hilarious lines from Riggs and Murtaugh. I think the soul of the show is still there. And they didn't just jump in and act like nothing happened with Riggs, they acknowledge it and say as much that the new character is not the re to replace Riggs, nor will he ever. People are allowed to have their own opinion. Watch the show and see for yourself. In my own opinion I feel like the troll comments on here are haters being haters what do they do, but hate all day.

You fired the heart of the show

Clayne Crawford was the one who made this show special. No Riggs/Clayne no Lethal Weapon.

Good recovery from casting changes
Sabalon26 September 2018
While sad to see Clayne leave, I don't have my head up my rear like some people and will give things a chance. They did a good job of coming up with a replacement for Riggs, something I didn't think they'd be able to pull off. And they did so with a story that doesn't just pretend nothing ever happened. While a little different, the spirit of Lethal Weapon is still there.

Pleasantly Surprised
Onetrack9727 September 2018
I wasn't expecting much after Clayne left. The writers did a good job creating a similar character.

I don't see much use for Jordana's character but I hope they come up with something.

Not deserving a one star but beginning of the end
keithsreed-185-29575529 September 2018
First off Seann William Scott does a decent job and doesn't deserve any grief for stepping into the Clayne Crawford role. His character is actually kind of interesting. Plus the episode is well made, good stunts and explosions as per usual, so it doesn't deserve a brutal review as others are leaving.

But it just isn't the same any more, and while I'm not saying I'm boycotting the show I'm certainly less interesting in it now and will think twice before press play.

The soul of the show is gone.
MrColding26 September 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really tried to give it a chance. But there's no soul anymore. What made the show was Martin Riggs and his chemistry to everyone around him.

In every episode, by and large, I thought to myself, this is a damn good tv-series. Briggs crazy ways to handle things, the action, the humor in tandem with Riggs rough moments in life - THAT was made this show not only great but amazing.

I'll give it a few more episodes and if I don't feel it after that, Lethal Weapon is over for me.

Rest in Peace Martin Riggs

Not too bad even with a new partner
marknorville26 September 2018
I like many, was not sure, that this would work. However, watching the first episode, it actually was not that bad. I forgot stiffler was there, and instead gave his character a chance, and actually he is quite a bad ass.

All what I can say, is give this an objective view, and you might quite like it.

The show is dead
bobpuls27 September 2018
With the Seann William Scott as second star in this show it's become horrible to watch .. Too bad they did this move . i was watching it only for this dynamic between the two main actors, but this is gone with Seann William Scott. Bye bye

Sluggish yet sincere and fresh!
eliowens26 September 2018
The season 3 premiere is missing Martin Riggs, but the show still feels fresh and innovative. There's many things to like about the premiere episode, even though some of the early user reviews would indicate otherwise. The writing is still sharp and engaging; furthermore, it's obvious that Murtaugh is very distraught about Rigg's death. Overall, very solid episode that explores the origins of the new lead, Wesley Cole, without ignoring other dangling plotlines from season 2.

Worth it.
er_ist_zuruek16 October 2018
I know what others wrote, but screw that. For every ending is a new beginning and the chemistry is never there from the very first hour of a relationship. Give this some time guys. I really like Sean in this and I hope those hardcore fans give him more than just 5min to convince them. Always the same with you guys, the hate on new things isn't healthy.

Such as shame that you fired THE actor that put his heatmrt, soul, efforts in this show, for 2 seasons it was soooooooooo great and you took this away from me and a lot of other fans of Clayne Crawford, it is such as shame that you did this and just replaced him...shame on you

Big enough to admit I was wrong...
rage0976-908-65157329 September 2018
I'll admit, I was one of the people who was convinced I wasn't going to like the show without Riggs after Clayne Crawford's departure, but I was wrong, and happy to be. The show was still very enjoyable with Seann William Scott as the new co-lead. Cole is a refreshing character. Riggs and his death wish were kind of played out. Even movie Riggs got over it by the end of the first one and was no longer suicidal, but it seemed these show writers were intent on having him remain a loose cannon with no sense of self-preservation throughout the run of the show.

Cole, while just as lethal as Riggs, if not more, and just as much of a daredevil, doesn't run into it like he doesn't care if he lives or dies. He has a reason to live, and actually tries to make it out alive. The character is likable, a family man, or at least trying to be, and just an all around decent person, considerate of others, unlike Riggs. Don't get me wrong. I loved Riggs, and will miss him, but I'm glad they went a different direction with Cole instead of trying to recreate Riggs. It's fresh, and I think the show will be just as good with him. Don't listen to the naysayers who won't actually watch and pay attention just because Riggs is gone, and give it a try. I did, and I don't regret it.

Excellent character change
jjburritt26 September 2018
When I first heard that they were going to kill off Riggs I was not happy. And I thought the show was going to suck but I thought I would give it a chance. I'm glad I did it's refreshing new start to the TV show and I will continue watching for while at least anyway. The first episode was well done especially since they're not planning on having Sean try to re-create Riggs character but be his own similar character. And Sean William Scott seems to fit this character very well.

I was curious, and got pleasant surprised.
bjoernis19 October 2018
Okokok, Crawford was the bearing beam of the show, I'll admit that. He got himself written out because too many complaints about the safety on the set(not a good reason if you ask me). But, as a fan of "Stiffler", I give this a chance. This will be Lethal Weapon 2.0. Like it or not. Give it a fair chance folks.

Very weak episode
cynthiapuppy26 September 2018
The episode never got going, actors seem to have lost the spark from previous seasons. The comedy aspect of it is very poor.

Don't judge it by the low ratings from users still upset about the cast change
AMZCali26 September 2018
I had given up on this show long before the end of last season. There are only so many hours in a day and life is short. Gotta be picky with what we watch. I wanted to see the season 3 premier just to see how well they pulled off the changes. After seeing this first episode, I've put this show back on my scheduled recording.

The new show feels the same in some ways and very different in other ways. They started off in another country which gave everything a fresh feel. Riggs was GREAT! There is no denying that. They had the perfect actor and just the right writing for him. However, business is business and they had to get rid of him. For those who are upset, why not address your anger in the right direction, the direction of the man who's own actions got him removed from this show.

SWS is not Riggs. He is playing a different character who has a daughter and an ex/significant other, mother of his daughter. SWS has brought in a good character that even the angry band would get behind if not for their misplaced anger.

Wanted to hate it...
tarnishedhalotx27 September 2018
I've been on the fence about even watching since they killed off Riggs, but I like Sean William Scott, so decided to give it a chance. Chemistry between him & Wayans isn't as good, but hopefully will get better, didn't despise it as much as expected.

Killed off the heart of the show
brashier29 September 2018
I tried but after 10 minutes I gave up. Riggs was the best part of the show. Between Damon Wayans poor acting and the terrible writing it was unwatchable.

Better than expected
gtjeddah26 September 2018
Truth be known, Mel Gibson will always be Riggs, but when Crawford was cast I was dubious but stuck with it and he grew on me as Riggs 2.0. Not interested in the politics of his sacking but was intrigued by Scott' casting as Riggs 3.0. To be honest I thought he did a pretty good job and will fit in nicely, yes they tried to jam a lot into the first episode to tie up loose ends but now that's done, I will be watching and hope "Steve Stifler" comes through.

Disappointed to see Riggs go
tom_ashford22 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Riggs was my favourite character and Crawford played him so well. That aside I enjoyed this episode and was glad that they showed Murtaugh and others struggling with losing their friend.

My main issue with this episode was Murtaugh waiting at the hospital wearing a goatee when at the end of the previous episode he didn't have one. Also where was Molly? The contiuity in this episode has spoiled the beginning of this new series and I hope it gets better. Here's to William Scott and I hope he does a good job.

Really??
nicoleb-0547830 September 2018
To watch Damon Wayans act sad about Riggs death just felt like a slap in the face. His prissy boy attitude is the reason Clayton was fired. Boohoo. Call the wahh-mbulance bc this show is about to die.
