President Donald Trump unloaded on Fox News on Tuesday after it featured a segment with one of his critics, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-md).
Trump also went after a Fox News host, Chris Wallace, and mocked a former anchor, Shepard Smith.
Trump wrote, “Really pathetic how @FoxNews is trying to be so politically correct by loading the airwaves with Democrats like Chris Van Hollen, the no name Senator from Maryland. He has been on forever playing up the Impeachment Hoax. Dems wouldn’t even give Fox their low ratings debates….”
He added, “…So, what the hell has happened to @FoxNews. Only I know! Chris Wallace and others should be on Fake News CNN or Msdnc. How’s Shep Smith doing? Watch, this will be the beginning of the end for Fox, just like the other two which are dying in the ratings. Social Media is great!”

Michael Avenatti found “nothing funny” about this weekend’s Saturday Night Live cold open that turned the House impeachment hearings into a soap opera — and included an appearance by Pete Davidson as the attorney.
In what appeared to be an imitation of President Trump’s Twitter style, Avenatti offered a sarcastic review panning the SNL sketch.
“Nothing funny about tired Saturday Night Live on Fake News NBC!” the embattled Trump foe jokingly tweeted Saturday night. “Question is, how does that total loser Pete Davidson save his dying mediocre career by playing me and get away with these total Democratic hit jobs without retribution? This is the real quid pro quo. Investigate!!!”

Fox News Sunday anchor Chris Wallace wasn't impressed with Jake Tapper's handling of a Dec. 17, 2017 interview with Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin on the CNN Sunday morning show State of the Union.
Tapper, after telling Mnuchin that he would "get to taxes in one second," asked the cabinet secretary if he would be "alarmed" by President Trump firing then-special counsel Robert Mueller, as was considered a possibility at the time.
After receiving a transcript of the exchange, Wallace fired off an email to then-Treasury spokesperson Tony Sayegh. "Is this right?" he asked. "Was the ...

The Santa Monica Observer has issued a story following the coroner’s verdict today on the cause of death of Los Angeles Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs, a report that largely vindicated the newspaper’s speculation on his cause of death.
The newspaper was blasted by the Angels and Texas police after it published an earlier story that indicated Skaggs may have overdosed on opioids. The Texas coroner also came to that conclusion in his release today, saying that a combination of drugs and alcohol caused the 27-year-old pitcher to choke to death.
“Everything Stan Greene said in the days immediately following his death, turns out to have been true (sadly),” said an emailed statement from publisher David Ganezer. He added, “drugs are pervasive at Santa Monica high school and other affluent high schools in Los Angeles. As responsible journalists, we hope that Tyler Skaggs death will lead to a national...

The set of “Morning Joe” closed out the week with some mockery of President Trump’s latest rally in Grand Rapids, Michigan, on Thursday, with host Joe Scarborough and longtime guest Donny Deutsch both expressing their contempt.
“He’s just disgusting to look at. He’s obese,” Deutsch said on Friday. “He’s one of the most repulsive physically looking human beings I’ve ever seen.”
“He looked so sad and pathetic last night,” Scarborough noted.

President Donald Trump took to Twitter Thursday to mock the ratings of MSNBC and CNN in the days since Attorney General William Barr said the Mueller report showed no evidence of collusion between Trump and his 2016 campaign and the Russians.
He started by singling out a favorite target, the MSNBC morning show hosted by former fans Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski.
“Wow, ratings for ‘Morning Joe,’ which were really bad in the first place, just ‘tanked’ with the release of the Mueller Report,” Trump said in an early morning tweet. “Likewise, other shows on MSNBC and CNN have gone down by as much as 50%. Just shows, Fake News never wins!”
Trump didn’t cite specific numbers or say which shows had suffered a 50 percent drop-off, but he may have been obliquely referring to a widely shared piece in the Daily Beast citing ratings concerns at MSNBC now that the Trump-Russia collusion narrative was on ice.

President Donald Trump has weighed in on the Jussie Smollett saga, calling prosecutors’ decision to drop all charges against the “Empire” star “an embarrassment to our Nation.”
On Twitter, the president called on the FBI and the Justice Department to “review” the “outrageous” case, but failed to provide more specifics. Smollett allegedly faked a hate crime and had been indicted on 16 counts of filing a false police report. On Tuesday morning, the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office dismissed the charges against Smollett in exchange for the actor forfeiting a $10,000 bond payment to the city. Smollett did not have to admit guilt and has used the move by prosecutors to claim he has been vindicated. The decision to drop charges has been condemned by police and by Chicago Mayor Rahm Emanuel.

It can be a terrible burden to be able to see the future, particularly when the rest of the world seems blind to the present. Seldom has that fact been more sobering than it is in Agnieszka Holland’s urgent but disjointed “Mr. Jones,” the true (and somewhat unknown) story of a young man who was cursed with the ability to see what was coming next, as well as the determination to recognize the full horror of what was already there.
An ill-conceived prologue notwithstanding, Holland’s well-intentioned and characteristically unsentimental thriller begins in a musty corner of 1933, where a wide-eyed young Welsh journalist named Gareth Jones is convinced that Adolf Hitler poses a serious threat to the rest of the world. Played by an earnest James Norton (who offsets his natural good looks with a pronounced streak of “do the right thing” dorkiness), Jones is laughed off by the other,...

After Bryan Singer was the subject of another sexual assault article, featuring four new accusers, many film fans were thinking this would be the proverbial straw that broke the camel’s back and that the director would be ousted from his recently-signed gig on “Red Sonja.” But then came a statement from the producer of the film, Avi Lerner, that was defiant and supported Singer wholeheartedly. Now, days later, the producer has second-thoughts about the content of his statement, but is still 100% behind his director.

While fake news has become one of the biggest challenges facing journalism today, European reporters are twice as worried about it than their American counterparts according to a new poll by German ad agency Sweet Spot PR.
According to the poll, 31.58 percent of Nordic European countries cited “fake news” as the “biggest threat to journalism today,” while the phenomenon was cited by 22.76 percent journalists in the rest of Europe. In both groups, “fake news” was the plurality concern among a crowded field of issues.
In the United States, however, “fake news” wasn’t as worrisome of an issue and was cited by only 12 percent of reporters as their biggest concern. One in five reporters were concerned about staff cuts in newsrooms, while nearly 30 percent warned of the declining ad and print revenue.

(Warning: Some mild spoilers for Season 3 of Amazon’s “Man in the High Castle”)
Eric Overmyer swears the third season of Amazon’s “Man in the High Castle” isn’t a response to Donald Trump.
“I banned the ‘T’ word in the writers room,” Overmyer, who took over as showrunner this year, told TheWrap. “I wanted to let the current situation resonate with the show by itself. I didn’t want it to dictate our narrative.”
But the real-world parallels of a show that not only imagines Nazi Germany’s victory in World War II — subjugating much of America in the process — but the spread of its fascist worldview, are hard to ignore. Put it his way: The tagline for this season is #ResistanceRises.

Sacha Baron Cohen’s controversial Who is America? is performing a valuable service in that it’s exposing how “shameless” are those members of the Gop who will “literally do anything,” the hosts and creators of Pod Save America told TV critics at TCA.
The four Dems on the HBO TCA panel said their party need not clutch its pearls over Cohen, insisting his very divisive Showtime series is not going to hurt Claire McCaskill’s chances in Missouri.
The most depressing thing about what Cohen does “is that he’s not that manipulative… He does not have to push them too hard,” Jon Lovett said.
(Late Tuesday, it was announced that Georgia state Rep. Jason Spencer, who mooned the camera and yelled racist slurs on Cohen’s program, will resign from the legislature.)

While diapered Trump flew over Parliament in London, President Donald Trump treated Brits to one of his Fake News tantrums at Chequers, the country estate of the prime ministers, baring his teeth at reporters on scene from CNN, and NBC.
Trump also accused his mentor Rupert Murdoch’s The Sun of “Fake News” for having accurately reported that he bashed Pm Theresa May’s Brexit exit plan, and hailed Boris Johnson as UK’s future Pm during a sit-down. The Sun is “Fake News” he explained because it did not include all the nice things he said about May during the interview he gave on his way to Brussels to meet with Nato members.
At this morning’s presser, Trump explained that when he gave the interview, he did not fully understand May’s Brexit exit proposal. He said he does now, after spending the better part of two days with May.

President Donald Trump this morning crowed over a correction NBC News issued Thursday night.
“NBC News is wrong again!” Trump tweeted as the sun came up. The news division corrected its scoop that investigators had wiretapped Cohen’s phone lines. The tapping took place before the FBI raided the office, home and hotel room of Cohen, who has claimed he made a $130K Nda payment to porn star Stormy Daniels shortly before the election, to keep quiet her claims of a decade-old affair with Trump.
After the initial report, Trump’s new lawyer Rudy Giuliani reacted dubiously, while Stormy’s lawyer Michael Avenatti took a victory lap on MSNBC, saying Trump is so undisciplined that “any number of things” might have been found via tapping between Potus and Cohen.
Hours later, NBC News issued a correction, reporting Cohen’s phones were not tapped, citing three senior officials. Feds reportedly were...

Donald Trump has taken to Twitter (again) to seize on a mistake by NBC News.
The U.S. President slammed the Peacock network after it corrected its story, from yesterday, that wrongly stated that federal authorities had wiretapped his lawyer Michael Cohen.
The broadcaster quickly corrected the error, that Cohen’s phones were being monitored as part of a pen register rather than a wiretap. “The monitoring of Cohen’s phones was limited to a log of calls, known as a pen register, not a wiretap where investigators can actually listen to calls,” it added to the story.
However, the former host of The Apprentice, didn’t let that stop him from getting on his phone.

An insider has told Life & Style, "Keith has moved out of the family home he shares with Nicole after a string of arguments. He’s been staying at a five-star hotel in La." "I am a collage of unaccounted for brushstrokes - I am all random." Those are among the last words spoken by Stockard Channing's character in Six Degrees of Separation as she flees another ritzy party, her sense of self in tatters. Who are we, just an assemblage of stories we tell ourselves, and others? Is there something in between the molecules, if you drill down deep enough, or does infinite digging render everything dug? When we get up and look at ourselves in the mirror in the morning, are our eyes showing us Fake News? The post-modern self is an existential crisis in overdrive, but at a certain point don't you have to just stop drilling and take stock of what you actually see? Where does the scrutinizing of facts end and the perversion of them begin? Who writes our histories?...

President Donald Trump was in Ohio today, allegedly to talk about his infrastructure resuscitation proposals though, as usual, it played more like a campaign rally.
Toward the end of the speech, Trump talked about Roseanne Barr’s ratings for the revival of her longrunning ABC sitcom, which hasn’t been on the air in more than two decades. The reboot clocked a whopping 18.2 million viewers to the surprise of many, including ABC, which is repeating the opening episode this Sunday.
Potus made it about himself, saying her boffo numbers might convince “Fake News” networks to cover him more favorably, for ratings reasons. Hours earlier, master media massager Trump had called Roseanne Barr to secure his headline on ABC’s hit reboot.
