"Grey's Anatomy" alum Jesse Williams balances his busy acting career with being a father of two. The star made his onscreen debut on "Law & Order" in 2006 and later became a household name after landing the role of Jackson Avery in "Grey's Anatomy," which he starred in from 2009 to 2022. Along with his role on the long-lasting medical drama, Williams has also appeared in a variety of films, ranging from "The Butler" to "Secret Headquarters," and most recently, Netflix's "Your Place or Mine." Off screen and on stage, Williams recently played Darren Lemming in the 2022 revival of "Take Me Out," which earned him a Tony nomination for best featured actor in a play.
When he isn't working, Williams shares parenting duties with his ex-wife, Aryn Drake-Lee. The two met in 2007 and married in September 2012, as reported by People. The two kept their relationship out of the spotlight and privately welcomed their two children,...

Broadway’s spring season kicked into higher gear last week, with the arrival of seven previewing productions (with more to come over the next few weeks). Business overall remained robust, with the 31 shows grossing a total of 28,818,836. The figure marks a 7 increase over the previous week, a jump due in no small part to the stellar performances of such recent arrivals as Funny Girl, Mr. Saturday Night, Plaza Suite and, of course, The Music Man.
Total attendance for the week ending April 3 was 224,053, a 12 increase over the previous week’s 200,731 when there were seven fewer productions on the boards. Average across-the-board Broadway ticket price 128.63.
Two shows officially opened last week: Plaza Suite, starring Matthew Broderick and Sarah Jessica Parker, to mixed-to-positive reviews, continuing its strong business with a 1,288,716 gross and full houses. Average ticket price was a healthy 178.75.

The press conference had barely begun when Gene Simmons weighed in with typical bluntness. “This tour and the whole event,” he said, leaning into a microphone, “it is a culmination of more than a decade of our fans being on top of our asses saying we have to do it.”
The “it” was the fantasy of Kiss fans across the globe: a reunion of the original quartet, in full makeup, reviving the songs and stage costumes that had made Kiss one of the all-conquering bands of the Seventies. And on April 16th,...

Music duo Aly & Aj, also known as Alyson and Amanda Joy Michalka, just saw their hit "Potential Breakup Song" go viral on TikTok, but they're not letting their music career be a thing of '00s nostalgia. The sisters just teased the sound of their upcoming album, and it could be the optimistic soundtrack we need for 2021. Aly & Aj's last album Insomniatic debuted in 2007, and featured singles like the recently resurfaced "Potential Breakup Song" as well as "Like Whoa" and the Joe Jonas-inspired track "Flattery." While the pair released songs like "Take Me" and "Church" in recent years, they have...

Aly & Aj have come a long way in the last 15 years. The sister duo, Aly and Aj Michalka, first rose to fame with pop rock hits like "Potential Breakup Song" and "Chemicals React" in the early 2000s, and over the years, fans have watched them mature not only as artists, but also as young women. In 2017, they made their nearly 10-year comeback to music with their '80s-inspired single, "Take Me," followed by their appropriately titled Ep, Ten Years, later that year.
Now, the ladies are back yet again. Following the release of their insanely catchy lead single "Church" and the upbeat track "Don't Go Changing" earlier this year, Aly & Aj released their new synth-pop Ep, Sanctuary, on May 10, and are currently performing across the country for their Sanctuary tour.
"A sanctuary can be something different for a lot of people, but for us, sanctuary really represents our fans.

On April 28th and 29th 1971, George Jones and Tammy Wynette spent two days at Nashville’s Columbia Recording Studios laying down tracks for what would be the married couple’s first duets album. Titled We Go Together, the LP was Jones’ first for Epic Records, the label to which Wynette was already signed. Released in October 1971, just days after Jones inked a 10-year pact with the label, We Go Together reached Number Three on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, and yielded the couple’s first chart hit as a duo.

Now that “Her Smell” is in theaters, Alex Ross Perry has moved on to his next musical venture: the video for Aly & Aj’s “Church.” The new single from the sibling duo’s forthcoming album “Sanctuary” marks Perry’s second collaboration with the sisters, the first being the video for 2017’s “Take Me.” Shot on 16mm at the Mayan Revival Samuel-Novarro House in Los Angeles’ Loz Feliz neighborhood, it isn’t the last time Perry will collaborate with Aly & Aj — they’ll next work together on the visuals for an upcoming single from “Sanctuary.” That project will take place in New York to “spotlight the contrasts between the two coasts.”
Of his process, Perry told IndieWire he “showed up on set with barely an idea. I wandered around the Mayan Revival House for half an hour, got a feel for the location and said simply ‘let’s make this about...

We probably don't need another movie about an evil child who may or may not be the devil incarnate but Nicholas McCarthy's upcoming The Prodigy looks promising.
The new horror movie, written by Jeff Buhler of Midnight Meat Train fame as well as upcoming remakes of Jacob's Ladder, Pet Sematary and Grudge, stars Taylor Schilling as Sarah, the mother of Miles, played by Jackson Robert Scott (Georgie from 2017's It remake), a young boys who is both a genius and anti-social and perhaps even a killer.
The movie also co-stars Brittany Allen and Colm Feore.

After six seasons in Litchfield Penitentiary, Taylor Schilling is branching out into a new genre. The actress, who starred as Piper Kerman on Netflix’s long-running hit, “Orange Is the New Black,” has finished her first post “Orange” project, and it’s a chilling one. Schilling will star in “The Prodigy,” a new horror movie about a possessed child with a script by Jeff Buhler, who penned the forthcoming remake of “Pet Sematary,” the novel by Stephen King. “The Prodigy” is produced by Tripp Vinson (“The Exorcism of Emily Rose”) and directed by Nicholas McCarthy (“At the Devil’s Door”).
The most exciting pairing of the project, however, is Schilling’s co-star, young Jackson Robert Scott, who played Georgie Denborough in last year’s hit Stephen King adaptation, “It.” Scott plays Schilling’s son, Miles, who is possessed by some sort of demon spirit.

We've already seen two teaser trailers for the upcoming post-apocalyptic film I Think We're Alone Now, but today we have a full trailer to share with you that gives us our best look yet at the film. In fact, I think it gives away a little too much. Peter Dinklage (Game of Thrones) and Elle Fanning (Super 8) star in the film as two survivors who come together after most of the human race has been destroyed.
The film comes from writer Mike Makowsky and Reed Morano and this is the synopsis that was released:
I Think We’re Alone Now follows the story of Del who is alone in the world. After the human race is wiped out, he lives in his small, empty town, content in his solitude and the utopia he’s methodically created for himself — until he is discovered by Grace, an interloper whose history and motives are obscure.

Chicago – Orange Day is Friday… as in “Orange is the New Black.” That’s when Season Six will be available for download from Netflix, as the online series continues to showcase the women inmates at Litchfield Penitentiary, three of whom are played by Taylor Schilling (Piper), Kate Mulgrew (Red) and Dascha Polanco (Daya).
The three actors came to Chicago to promote “Orange is the New Black” (also known as Oitnb) as it keeps its status as a go-to download, and is often cited as the first “binge” series in TV history. Created by Jenji Kohan, the multiple award-winning series revolves around Piper Chapman (Schilling), a woman in her 30s who is sentenced to minimum security prison at the fictional Litchfield. She was railroaded into the joint by her on-again-off-again lover Alex (Laura Prepon), and her indictment and imprisonment has been the catalyst for exploring the lives inside Litchfield for five seasons.

I can't help it: all I can think about when I see I Think We're Alone Now, the title of Reed Morano's new post-apocalyptic drama, is Tiffany's 80's chart topper and I'm thinking that perhaps that's not an accident...
Morano, who has of late been on fire with Hulu's outstanding "The Handmaid's Tale," directs this drama from writer Mike Makowsky, whose previous Take Me (trailer) turned out to be a surprise winner.

Actor and filmmaker Pat Healy seems to pop up everywhere, but a corporate office ceiling is a new surprise — even for him. Hot off a bit reporter part in Steven Spielberg’s “The Post,” Healy lends his oddball comedic talents to “Man in Ceiling,” a short film that turns office mundanity into the loopy stuff of surreal comedy. Healy stars as a disgruntled office worker shirking his responsibilities by hiding in the ceiling above his desk.
It’s the kind of role Healy excels in; that ubiquitous face practically screams disheveled corporate renegade. A filmmaker in his own right, Healy recently brought his madcap sensibilities to “Take Me,” which he directed and starred in opposite Taylor Schilling (“Orange is the New Black”).

A lawsuit filed in Massachusetts federal court Thursday by representatives of Prince’s Estate alleges that Massachusetts-based Kian Andrew Habib, known on YouTube as PersianCeltic, committed copyright infringement by uploading six live concert videos to YouTube.
The videos appear to be bootleg recordings from a December 2013 limited three-night run at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut. The songs at issue in the lawsuit include: “Nothing Compares 2 U,” “Take Me With U,” “Glam Slam,” “Sign o’ the Times,” “The Most Beautiful Girl in the World,” and “Hot Thing.” Habib has less than 500 subscribers on YouTube at the time of the lawsuit, but has amassed over 25,000 followers on Twitter under the same PersianCeltic username where he frequently tweeted out links to the live concert videos between 2013 and 2017, such as this tweet from February:
His Twitter timeline also reveals he attended the concert on December 27, 2013, tweeting “On the way to see the legend Prince tonight!

Jennifer Hudson — enthusiastic or disrespectful? Viewers of The Voice — and readers of TVLine’s recaps — have been arguing over the answer to that question since the beginning of Season 13’s Blind Auditions. Some of you say that she’s a showboating spotlight-stealer who thinks nothing of chattering through what are make-or-break performances for the contestants. Others suggest that she’s just really into it, and c’mon, at the end of the day, what singer wouldn’t be thrilled to have their potential coach be so moved as to throw a shoe at them?

Aly and Aj Michalka are back!
The sisters dropped their first single in 10 years, "Take Me," on Friday and fans are freaking out!
Watch: Exclusive: Aly & Aj on Finally Getting to Grow Up, on Screen and in Their New Music
While the sisters had recorded music under their band 78violet, this is the return to their namesake duo, which they formed in 2004. Et's Ashley Crossan spoke with the pair earlier this year at San Diego Comic-Con, where they dished on their new music and their comeback!
"We're releasing our first single after a long time, a long time away from music," Aj, 26, told Et. "We haven't released anything under Aly & Aj in 10 years. So, we're really excited, and this single really represents the new sound and, just, us as adult artists. It's been a long time coming."
So why the 10-year gap?

Chicago – An original voice, in an original conceptual movie, is a rare category of cinema art. Director and lead actor Pat Healy, working from a script from Mike Makowsky, has fashioned “Take Me,” a thriller about kidnapping and having the tables turned.
Healy is Ray, a kind of loser who stumbles upon a new business… providing kidnapping scenarios for willing clients. Business is bad – there is an hilarious opening with Ray trying to get a loan from a local bank – until a new client emerges (Taylor Schilling of ‘Orange is the New Black’), who wants more from the service than the faux kidnapper had ever provided. The film, rich with tones of darkness and redemption, is exquisitely fashioned by Pat Healy, in his first feature length film as a director.

Over the last few weeks, the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival celebrated the best that the indie filmmaking world has to offer, and during the fest’s run, I had the chance to check out just a few of the genre-related offerings on Tribeca’s lineup: The Endless from Aaron Moorhead and Justin Benson, Pat Healy’s feature film directorial debut, Take Me, and the psychological thriller Tilt from Kasra Farahani. Read on for my thoughts on this trio of thought-provoking cinematic treats.
The Endless: Before I start discussing The Endless, I want to take a moment and say that I feel like the best way to experience the latest from Benson and Moorhead is to go in knowing as little as possible, because that’s how I saw it, and it 110% blew my mind. That being said, part of my job is reviewing movies, so I promise I will keep...

Thanks to a group of hackers, 10 episodes from the upcoming season of “Orange Is the New Black” were recently leaked online. There’s still plenty to wonder about even for those who’ve watched the Netflix drama via illicit means — season five’s final three episodes weren’t compromised — and Taylor Schilling has hinted at what this latest go-round holds in store in a new interview with The Hollywood Reporter.

Accounting for over 79% of the cumulative top ten gross, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 topped the domestic box office, showing a 54% increase compared to the 2014 original and giving Disney the top two openers of 2017 so far. Additionally, the film expanded its reach overseas, including openings in South Korea and China, the latter of which delivered the fourth largest opening in China to date for a film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as the film's global cume has now topped $425 million in 13 days. With an estimated $145 million opening weekend, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 topped the weekend box office and improved on the original 2014 release by 53.78%. Considering the $94.3 million opening for the original Guardians of the Galaxy was something of a surprise it's a spectacularly impressive result considering it's the largest jump for a second film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, among all sequels in the McU only the...

Taylor Schilling's new movie Take Me finds the Orange Is the New Black star in quite the strange scenario.
The film centers around Ray Moody (played by director Pat Healy), who is running an immersive kidnapping therapy business out of his basement. Anna St. Blair (Schilling) is a successful Hollywood businesswoman who discovers his Kidnap Solutions, LLC website — which, as a fun Easter egg, now exists online just as it's shown in the film — and makes the struggling Ray an offer he can't refuse: a weekend abduction, with the special request of being slapped around, for far...

Pat Healy’s Take Me is a wild card – but what else would you expect from a man whose performances are just as unpredictable? It’s a nifty little whodunnit that’s loads of fun, given how every action remains in question. Writer Mike Makowsky keeps details simple, but still finds a way to manipulate characters with the help of Healy’s vision. You’d expect something a little more tense, but oddly good-natured goofs represent tonal comfort. Frankly, this shouldn’t work. A who’s-playing-who “thriller” that bumbles along to an oboe score? Like a cartoon might? Consider this one a not-so-criminal anomaly.
Healy also stars as the film’s lead character, Ray Moody, who runs a business called Kidnap Solutions that simulates real-life kidnappings for paying customers. Why, you ask? As Ray describes, he loves helping people. Whether you’re trying to kick an eating habit or need the isolation,...

First things first: Dispel all associations with David Fincher's The Game when approaching Take Me, Pat Healy's nasty little quasi-comedy about people who pay to have themselves kidnapped. The operation here is much more humble than the shadowy, powerful one toying with super-rich executives there: Think one man with a van, who will imprison you for eight hours, traumatizing you just enough to help break your addiction to junk food. Starring opposite Taylor Schilling in his first feature as director, Healy knows exactly the mix of comical bumbling and psychological tension he wants here, executing the premise in a way...

Check out our rundown for this week’s selections below.
Blow Out (Brian De Palma)
In a career fixated on the machinations of filmmaking presented through both a carnal and political eye, Brian De Palma’s fascinations converged idyllically with Blow Out. In his ode to the conceit of Blow Up — Michelangelo Antonioni’s deeply influential English-language debut, released 15 years prior — as well as the aural intrigue of Francis Ford Coppola’s The Conversation, De Palma constructs a conspiracy...

Best known for his dramatic turns in a number of cult favourite movies over the last few years, notably Compliance, Cheap Thrills and The Innkeepers, Pat Healy is making his feature film debut behind the camera in the action comedy Take Me.

For his latest job, he's hired by Anna St. Blair (Taylor Schilling of "Orange is the New Black" fame) for a "surprise" kidnapping job. Things quickly get bad for Moody when it turns out Anna may not be who she claims to be. Comedy ensues.

Perhaps not all films are suited for the Duplass brothers treatment. Take Me, an amateurish directorial debut from actor Pat Healy, working from a script by Mike Makowsky, attempts to shoehorn a screwball comedy into the kind of drama where the action breaks for long scenes that easily might stretch 5-20 pages on paper for exposition. The effect is designed to create sympathy for characters in situations that find themselves in troubling situations of their own making, which is difficult when both characters prove to be so unlikable at their core.
Many bad, low-budget indies have been shot in the basement of many filmmaker’s parents’ houses, often about an abduction, but despite the presence of professional production values, Take Me does not add to the canon. The film first finds Ray Moody (played by Healy) seeking a bank loan for his business Kidnap Solutions LLC, a Los Angeles-based one-man...

While he’s helmed short films in the past, actor Pat Healy makes his feature film directorial debut with the darkly comedic Take Me, an unconventional heist/crime caper of sorts that features Healy in the role of Ray, professional kidnapper, who gets more than he bargains for with his latest “victim,” Anna (Taylor Schilling).
Take Me recently premiered at the 2017 Tribeca Film Festival, and Daily Dead chatted with Healy about the project. In our conversation, he discussed taking the reins as director, his approach to the material, collaborating with Schilling and Take Me producers Jay and Mark Duplass, and more.
