The ever-growing popularity of Saint Nektarios of Aegina (1846 - 1920), the then Metropolitan Bishop of Pentapolis, sparks jealousy in the ranks of the high-level orthodox priests in Alexandria. And for fear of becoming the next Patriarch of Alexandria, a portion of the clergy embarks on a systematic smear campaign against Nektarios, bent on driving him out of Egypt. As a result, Nektarios relocates to Athens, Greece, where he touches the hearts of the needy and dedicates himself to teaching and writing. However, the unrelenting workload takes a toll on Nektarios' fragile health, forcing him to retire to Aegina, where he establishes a monastery. As Saint Nektarios falls foul of the system once more, accused of immorality, his health deteriorates, and he ends up in Aretaieion Hospital, Athens. But there, a posthumous final miracle awaits an unexpected believer.
