This little , low-budgeted film is set in a creepy village where happens bloody and gory events
ma-cortes5 March 2023
A suspenseful horror thriller with gory elements , grisly killings , twists and unsettling atmosphere. A group of young people goes to a rock festival that takes place in the mountains. A breakdown forces them to seek refuge in Sant Martí, a village in deep Catalonia that has fallen into disrepair over the years. Now, this group of travelers find themselves in the creepy and dilapidated shanty town of Sant Martí, and all hell is about to break loose.

A visceral film contains images of graphic violence and may not be suitable for all audiences , viewer discretion is advised. The movie displays a pernicious as well as strong stuff . It packs grisly horror, tension, mayhem, horrible gore and lots of blood and guts. Slasher filmed in Catalan by the directors who made the medium-length film "Festín de Sangre" (2008), and starring unknown actors as Olga Bernardo, David Estany, Guillen Valls , Anna Ferran, among others. A film made with little means that combines brief comedy with slasher in its meager 80 minutes. Concerning a couple of friends on their way to a rock festival pick up two hitchhiking girls going to the same event, but their trip is ruined due to an unexpected car breakdown. The plot takes a long time to explode, since in the first three quarters of an hour the characters go from scene to scene without practically anything happening in the film, and eventually exploiting the comic nuance of their characters. In its final stretch, it is when Sant Martí takes a bloodier turn, leaving us with some quite powerful scenes and an ending that leaves the viewer waiting for more. Resulting a routine slasher with nothing special , middlingly directed by David C. Ruiz and Albert Valencia taking parts here and there of other films in the same genre and in which stands out a really successful dirty production design, with slight touch of almost parodic humor, although in some scenes it doesn't quite come together. At least it is a production aware of its limitations, which lasts just and necessary and with which you can have a laugh in the right context.

With a plot that is very reminiscent of the classic "The Texas Chainsaw Massacre" (Tobe Hooper, 1974), or " Wrong Turn" saga and especially "The Town That Dreaded Sundown" (Charles B. Pierce, 1976) including a series killer with his head hidden by a sack, but with the peculiarity of being located in a rural village in Catalonia, Sant Martí and that despite its low budget entertains at times, but is only recommended for slasher lovers. Rating : 4.5/10 . Below average .

Waste of time

Very bad script that seems to be inspired by The Hills Have Eyes and Hostel. Dialogues and acting was completely random and senseless. Beware of this waste of time!

There are so many movies like this one. Bad simple script, low budget. The movie doesn't last long, but it's a waste of time.

I really enjoyed the film. Backwood slasher with good actors and a good portion of violence / gore.
