If you make a show about a real disease, at least follow the facts of the disease. Had you written the girl with having cancer, then said if she ate better and exercised more she wouldn't have cancer , do you think you would be on the air next week? Basically that is what you have done to all Mitochondrial Myopathy patients and their families! Many have lost family members to the disease, and many more will die from it without a cure. Just because most of your viewer's know nothing of Mito, they will now have a preconceived notion of Mito! And make more jokes to people with the disease when they see them use a power cart shopping, or park in a handicap spot. They say you should leave that for someone who needs it! Well they basically need it the most, they only look healthy! If they were to walk the same distance, they would be in the ER where most doctors know about as much about MITO as the idiots that make comments to people! And your show was just another slap in the face! You never mentioned Rabdomyolsis once! And that is usually what a MITO patient goes to the ER for. Otherwise they avoid going to the doctor due to their autoimmune system. Getting sick is not safe for them, and can have many complicated effects. As you sit back and laugh at this, you should know it can be genetic, and you may have it! You may be the next one with it and you just don't know it. And your doctor may miss all the signs. The ER doctors won't know what to do! You will be in great danger. Lucky to live through it if you do. Or maybe you need anesthesia, and you die. Because without knowing you have Mitochondrial Myopathy regular anesthesia will kill you. So start thinking about any family members that didn't make it to a full life expectancy. They may of had one of the many forms of MITO, and you could be next! Remember watch the show and enjoy!
