Los Angeles, March 2: Actor Patrick Schwarzenegger said he takes acting advice from his father, Hollywood action superstar Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Talking about whether his father likes to show him how it's done, Patrick said, "No, he doesn't. You know, if I have questions or if I had advice or want to hear what he has to say, I ask but otherwise no. I wouldn't say so."
The young actor grew up in the spotlight and started his career from the age of 10 when he had a small role in The Benchwarmers, but he always knew his father was a big star.
"I think from some age I understood the magnitude of his celebrity, his name and power. Then when he ran for governor and everything. So, yeah I knew. The governor today would be pretty tough. He's very straight-forward. He is what you see. He doesn't beat around the bush.

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on Thursday revealed the 366 feature films that are eligible for consideration at the 93rd Oscars, which are set to air April 25 live on ABC.
The total number of films is up from last year’s 344 films in contention.
This year’s list was compiled based on tweaked eligibility rules implemented because of the coronavirus pandemic, which has pushed the ceremony to its latest date ever. For this year, feature films had to open by February 28 in a commercial motion picture theater for a seven-day qualifying run in at least one of six metro areas: Los Angeles County, New York City, the Bay Area, Chicago, Miami and Atlanta. Drive-in theaters open nightly were included as qualifying venues, as were films intended for theatrical release but because of the lockdown made available first via streaming, VOD service or other broadcast.

Exclusive: Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four) is set to direct and star in action-thriller Phantom Of Belgrade, which will also star Dark and The Girlfriend Experience actor Oliver Masucci.

The events were previously charted in a Serbian documentary from 2009.
Producers are James Ireland and Pettyfer of Dark Dreams Entertainment and Andre L III of MiLu Entertainment. Casting is underway for the female lead and filming is scheduled for May 2021 in Serbia.

The erratic world of VOD consumption saw a lift this week with debuts of “The New Mutants” (Disney) and “Unhinged” (Solstice), films that were the first wide releases when theaters began to reopen in August. Ninety days later, normal windows dictate that it’s time for non-premium availability. (They each rent for $5.99.)
Disney’s Marvel spin-off took the top spot at Apple TV and FandangoNow, while Russell Crowe’s stalker thriller is #1 at Google Play. Two items of note: “Mutants” shows its strength by taking the top spot at Fandango, which ranks by revenue, not transactions; that’s impressive for a standard-price title. Unlike “Mutants,” “Unhinged” had a PVOD release and now sees a revival at its lower price.
These two titles were the only ones to place on three charts. (Spectrum’s weekly chart lags behind and will likely show them next week.) “Unhinged” placed #2 and #3 elsewhere, while “Mutants” was #5 on Google.

If you’re struggling to find a job right now, Patrick Schwarzenegger’s character in the upcoming movie “Echo Boomers” can relate.
In the heist thriller — which also stars Alex Pettyfer and Michael Shannon — Schwarzenegger plays a recent college graduate who can’t find work in a particularly unforgiving job market. He’s deep in student debt and out of options.
So he turns to his cousin (portrayed by Gilles Geary), who brings him into his get-rich-while-getting-back-at-the-rich scheme. Their group of disillusioned millennials, intent on breaking a system that favors the wealthy, use Chicago as their playground as they rob multi-million dollar homes, taking what they want and destroying what they don’t.
Though they carry out their frustrations in a way that could be described as a tad extreme, Schwarzenegger says the difficulty of finding jobs during a pandemic that’s left millions out of work is timelier than ever.

In the halcyon days of the early 2010s, it seemed like we had the luxury of worrying about one large scale social issue at a time. For a few months in the fall of 2011, the Occupy Wall Street protests that gripped Zuccotti Park dominated headlines, inspired similar actions around the world, and shined a much-needed light on economic inequality, a disparity that has only become more pronounced in the near-decade that has passed. “Echo Boomers,” a heist film that references Occupy and reverberates with millennial anger at shrinking opportunities as the wealthy get wealthier, seems perfectly poised for this particular moment when the pandemic has further exposed that precipitous chasm.

You just know that when Michael Shannon is running any sort of criminal enterprise, things are going to end badly.
Echo Boomers stars Patrick Schwarzenegger (excellent in last year's Daniel Isn't Real) as Lance, a young college grad in need of a job. He's recruited into a gang of thieves, led by Ellis Beck (Alex Pettyfer) and ruled over by Shannon who makes all the rules.
Clearly this is a career with no good end in sight and when Ellis rebels, the entire operation starts to go sideways.
The entire "steal from the rich to help yourself" thing is a bit old and I'm not convinced that Seth Savoy, making his feature film debut here, is going to reinvent the wheel but sometimes, a solidly build crime thriller propped by outstanding performances is just...

The more we learn about how much money the rich make off the backs of the working class I can start to see why Michael Shannon's Mel Donnelly might be on to something in the trailer for Echo Boomers. Directed and co-written by Seth Savoy as a part of his feature directorial debut, Echo Boomers is being framed by Saban Films as a gripping crime-thriller filled with pulse-pounding twists and…...

"We're not just stealing, we're sending a message." Saban Films has unveiled an official trailer for an indie crime action-thriller titled Echo Boomers, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Seth Savoy. The title is another reference to Millennials, as the term "Echo Boomers" is a synonym for this generation. Disillusioned by a world where economic odds seem stacked against them, and based on a true story, the film’s protagonists form a crime ring and begin breaking into the wealthiest Chicago homes and taking what they want. Echo Boomers stars Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michael Shannon, Alex Pettyfer, Hayley Law, Lesley Ann Warren, and Oliver Cooper. It's easy to spin this as a very negative, dangerous story of criminals, but it's really about people taking back what was taken from them. It's not a new "Robin Hood" story, as they keep it all for themselves, but the rest of this is...
