In addition to Insecure, Yvonne recently appeared on season three of Jane the Virgin, and she has a lot more to look forward to. And when her beau, Bryan Tanaka, popped out of a cake dressed as a Chippendale on Sunday's episode of Mariah's World, you'd have to be living under the world's biggest rock to not know that Mimi's anniversary was much better than her New Year's Eve.

In Mariah's world -- her literal world, which also obviously serves as legendary fodder for the aptly titled eight-part E! docu-series Mariah's World -- if there's no Apple TV, there's no show. (It makes you wonder: How did the diva of all divas perform before digital media players?)
But in the grand scheme of Mariah Carey's outsized life, which we're privy to in this "don't call it a reality series" circus of a show that actually does feature her ex-fiance James Packer (and new admirer Bryan Tanaka), it's as vital as the oxygen she breathes and the fifth octave she hits. According to Molly, a past pet poop scooper-turned-new Mariah assistant, without it, "she can't sleep," which means, "she can’t perform. … If it’s not there, everything else falls apart."

A salute to some of the finest uplifting moments in film, and to cinema's ability to lift your day.
A few weeks ago we published a list of traumatic moments that have appeared in family films. Of course we all enjoyed that waltz through painful childhood nightmare fuel, but the question was raised, why not do a list of slightly more positive and upbeat movie scenes instead? Thus, this: 25 of the most triumphant movie moments of all time.
Everyone has that go-to feel-good movie which they stick on when life is getting them down. Had a bad week at work? Stick Four Weddings on. Football team lose 5-0 and get soaked through on your way home? Time for Baseketball. Leave a tenner in the pocket of your jeans that just went in the wash and thus suddenly realise that life is a never-ending cycle of pain and...

John Molloy is the head of production at Mushroom Pictures, working out of the company's Melbourne office. After boffo success with 'Molly' earlier in the year, he's now gearing up for the release of his latest project as producer: Nicholas Verso's fantasy-tinged teen drama 'Boys in the Trees'.
When did you meet the director, Nicholas Verso? I know you produced his short..
That was the first time we worked together, on The Last Time I Saw Richard (2014), but I'd seen some of Nicholas's short films before that. Nic and I started working on Boys in the Trees and then decided to make The Last Time I Saw Richard as a way of helping us put the feature together. A proof of our relationship and also showing Nicholas' style, so that when we were out talking about the feature we had something very concrete that people could hold on to.

Today we are celebrating the birthday of Melissa McCarthy, who is arguably the current Queen of comedy.
She first caught our attention with a supporting role in "Gilmore Girls" playing the best friend of Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham). She continued her work on television in the popular sitcom "Mike and Molly", but it was clear that McCarthy's comedic talent would soon allow her to become a full fledged movie star.
Most notably, her supporting turn in the breakthrough comedy Bridesmaids gave her not just a unique character in Megan, but also earned her a rare Academy Award nomination for a comedic performance. Those are few and far between, but it only proved the unstoppable force of McCarthy, who has gone on to headline countless comedy films including The Heat, Spy and The Boss.

This is starting to be down right Shakespearean.
Molly roamed the palace doing her best impression of Ophelia on Tyrant Season 3 Episode 4, while Leila revealed that Jamal wasn't Ahmed's real father, but rather his uncle.
Sammy went looking for love in all the wrong places, and Barry was too busy planning revenge to deal with his family.
Watch Tyrant Season 3 Episode 4 Online
And as often happens in Shakespeare, vengeance doesn't lead to anything good. Mainly, it ends with everybody dying. And the Al Fayeed clan is already half gone. I wasn't too worried about Molly even before I saw the previews – the deaths have to slow down or there won't be any characters left.
Jennifer Finnigan did an amazing job of portraying a mother's grief. Where a great performance can sometimes be credited equally to the writing team, or the director, this was all her. The most powerful moments weren't because of her lines,...

As the golden age of high-def horror continues, we aren’t just getting bells-and-whistles Blu-rays of films we never expected to receive such treatment—titles like The Mutilator and Squirm—but also of films some of us barely new existed. American Horror Project Vol. 1, the new Blu-ray box set from Arrow Video, collects three such films: low-budget independent horror movies from the 1970s that have either been forgotten or are in danger of being lost forever.
In attempting to find obscure titles that are still in good enough condition to be restored in high-def, the curators of American Horror Project Vol. 1 (among them Stephen Thrower, author of Nightmare USA, as well as books on both Lucio Fulci and Jess Franco) could easily have found esoteric films that fit the criteria but were, for lack of a more diplomatic way of saying it, better off staying lost. But that couldn’t be further from the case.
