Set in a time and place like our own but one where robotics technology has progressed to the point where robotic workers--Synths--are commonplace. But what happens when some Synths become sentient? Are they now more human? Or are they a "broken" gadget to be destroyed and discarded? At times chilling, at times heart breaking, Humans forces us to look at how we--as individuals and as a society - treat "the Other"; those almost like us but not quite--those of a different race, gender, sexuality, or neurological makeup.
