- TriviaAs Adam is packing up all of his E.T. related items into a milk crate, one of the items appears to be an Atari game cartridge. The Atari E.T. game was very famously touted as being almost unplayable and was (along with several other Atari games) collected up and buried in a landfill in Alamogordo, NM. A documentary about this called "Atari: Game Over" was released in 2014. This would have made this one item of Adam's a very sought after collector's item.
- GoofsAdam sees E.T. in the theatre twice. It was playing in theatres in 1982. Later the Beach Boys song, Kokomo, is mentioned by Barry. That song was released in 1988.

The perils of mom goggles
I have to admit I was tickled to see an "E.T." episode. And while the reference is kind of an awkward vehicle for introducing Pop-Pop (Paul Sorvino), there's real substance to that story, and it's got the nice "Goldbergs" ending it deserves.
But this easily goes to Barry's short-lived career as a mall supermodel. And those mother-son glamour shots are so wonderfully creepy. Remember George Costanza's inexplicable turn as a hand model? That's pretty much what goes on with Barry, in the funniest sense.
