The meeting Don walks out on, for Miller Lite's long-running "Great Taste...Less Filling!" advertising campaign, was ranked by Advertising Age magazine as the eighth best advertising campaign in history. The campaign was developed by the advertising agency McCann-Erickson Worldwide.
Elisabeth Moss has said that the now-famous walk down McCann Erickson was very uncomfortable for her to shoot--her box was genuinely very heavy, the painting was large and awkward to hold at the right position, and it was difficult for her to get the cigarette to dangle the right way as she walked, pretending to be cool and graceful.
The painting of Bert's that Roger gives to Peggy is The Dream of the Fisherman's Wife. It was also featured in the film Henry and June and contributed to that film's NC-17 rating. However, it was no longer considered too obscene as Mad Men aired on basic cable.
