- TriviaAt the prom on the roof, Penny is wearing the same prom dress she wore in high school, the one that Amy picked up from Penny's couch at the beginning of the episode.
- GoofsSheldon says that the classification of 'lesser apes' was created to single out the gibbon as different from the greater apes. This is misleading since 'lesser ape' encompasses 16 species. The classification of 'greater apes', however, only includes 7 species.
- Quotes
Amy Farrah Fowler: Sheldon, there's something else I've been wanting to say. But before I do, just... I want you to know you don't have to say it back. I know you're not ready, and I don't want you to say it just because social convention dictates...
Sheldon Cooper: I love you too.
Amy Farrah Fowler: You said it.
Sheldon Cooper: There's no denying I have feelings for you that can't be explained in any other way. I briefly considered I had a brain parasite, but that seems even more far-fetched. The only conclusion was love.
[Amy starts hyperventilating]
Sheldon Cooper: I know what that is. You're having a panic attack. SoccerMom09 says to lie down on your back.
Amy Farrah Fowler: Thank you.
[runs over to Sheldon's bed]
Sheldon Cooper: Whoa, whoa, whoa! Just because I love you doesn't mean that girls are allowed in my room.

In no particular order, I could not or would not exist without air, food, water, gravity, tides, the moon, the sun, night, civilization, the laws of physics, the laws of thermodynamics, the law of the land, ancestors having sex, DNA, viruses, bacteria, plants, animals, oceans, ice caps, the kindness of strangers, the Big Bang, familial bonds, smart people, brave people, memory, medicine, the periodic table of elements, tribal instincts, magnetic fields, weather, Earth's molten core, a rotating Earth, a tilted Earth, tectonic plates, sleep, death, heat, consciousness, evolution, teachers and the miraculous, self-regulating chemical factory that is my body. Other than that, I like to think of myself as a self-made man.
Okay, that's all the pointless whimsy I have for the moment. Now unpause your DVR and watch Mom. You can reflect on the redundancy of pointless whimsy later.

It's a good episode but not very dramatic considering Penny & Emily hated each other and both turned up at 'The Prom' in Red Dresses of similar design, style & length? It's a shame the director didn't make an additional feature of this, then Penny & Emily coulda & shoulda had a cat fight as well.
A prime example of what I mean can be seen in the 1967 movie 'Woman Times Seven' starring Shirley MacLaine. Shirley MacLaine characterises the lives of seven Parisienne women in seven separate mini stories. The relevant character & mini story is Eve/At The Opera.
From the days of the 1976 movie 'Carrie', Brits have been used to seeing drama at 'The Proms'. In this episode Raj also references the 1976 movie 'Carrie'. The director chooses to make The Prom Equivalency cat fight about Howard, Stewart & Jeanie instead. As for Jeanie, it woulda been nice to hear from her afterwards.
