In a long-awaited decision sure to draw scrutiny, a Georgia judge ruled Nov. 9 that prosecutors will be allowed to admit rap lyrics as evidence at Grammy-winning artist Young Thug’s racketeering and gang trial in Atlanta as long as they pass legal relevance and foundation tests.
Judge Ural Glanville issued the ruling after Young Thug argued that his lyrics are protected, artistic free speech and that linking them to alleged crimes during trial would be “racist and discriminatory.”

Richelle Mead’s Vampire Academy is one of those beloved book franchises that should have gotten a TV series adaptation at least five years ago. Set in a world in which two distinct races of vampires—the Moroi and the Strigoi—exist, the six-book series centers the best friendship between Moroi princess Lissa and half-vampire bodyguard Rose.
While the series was made into a pretty good movie starring Zoey Deutch back in 2014, it was one of those adaptations that, while fun, didn’t actually do a good job adapting its source material. Now that Peacock has announced a series adaptation from Vampire Diaries creator Julie Plec and promising “the elegance of aristocratic romance” combined with “the supernatural thrills of the vampire genre,” the Vampire Academy fanbase might finally get the adaptation they’ve long been asking for. Today, we got our first insight into what the Peacock series will actually look like,...

The second season of Netflix's dramedy Never Have I Ever is here, which means we're excited to see Devi, Fabiola, and Eleanor back in action. While we're happy to see some familiar faces, we're also intrigued by some new characters such as Aneesa, played by Megan Suri, who joined the show's latest season. One of these new additions is Malcolm Stone, a new student at Sherman Oaks High. Played by Tyler Alvarez, Malcolm is an endearing but slightly self-absorbed former Disney star who catches Eleanor's attention.
We first meet Malcolm at Devi's party, where he's regaling people with stories of his former glory days at Disney. According to Fabiola and Eleanor, he went to elementary school with them before becoming a star on a fictional Disney show about a magical limo. He returned to school after the show ended, explaining, "I guess my Adam's apple became too pronounced to keep playing a fourth grader.

If you’re asking who Lisa Fuller is then you probably didn’t watch Monster Squad or Teen Witch when you were younger. Even if you think blonde bombshell you might not be able to really pull her name up since there have been a lot of those in the history of cinema. But if you did happen to watch the movies that were mentioned and do recall who she is then congratulations, you’re one of the few that managed to watch what is still a fond memory to many of us since let’s be fair, Monster Squad was goofy and kind

Judging from this picture of Mandy Ingber in Teen Witch you’d likely think that she has a lot of attitude on screen but perhaps not quite so much off of it, but that actually doesn’t appear to be the case since Mandy is a very strong and opinionated woman that’s done quite a bit in her life and has been successful at it as well. Her time as an actress didn’t last all that long compared to some but it did give her a boost throughout her life as she went on to become an author and a yoga instructor

On the premiere of the 18th season of “American Idol,” Lionel Richie basically got dad-mad as he gave returning contestant Nick Merico a verbal slap-down. His sin? The 23-year-old who starred in the Nickelodeon teen-bait sitcom “Every Witch Way,” tossed away his golden ticket that he earned last year. He said on camera before his second try-out that he backed out of going to Hollywood because “some personal things went down” and “I had to figure out a lot of things.”
While fellow judges Luke Bryan and Katy Perry were a bit miffed about him not seizing the opportunity of a lifetime, but they gladly listened to him once more as he played the piano and sang the Lauren Daigle tune, “You Say.”

If Lionel Richie were my dad when I was growing up, I probably wouldn’t have been able to get away with half the stuff I did as a kid. That’s my takeaway from one of the more dramatic confrontations on ABC’s revived edition of “American Idol.” Unlike old-school judge Simon Cowell, who basically was a snark machine on auto pilot when a hopeful got on his nerves, Richie does not like to suffer arrogant fools like 23-year-old Nick Merico gladly. His sin? He decided to not use the coveted golden ticket to Hollywood that he earned last season because “some personal things went down” and “I had to figure out a lot of things.”
True, he did say to Lionel and fellow judges Luke Bryan, who labeled him a “Hunkasaurus Rex” at his first audition, and Katy Perry, who flirted a bit with him last year, “You...

First there was a 90 Day Fiancé star on American Idol, now? A former Nickelodeon actor is giving his all on Idol. Nick Merico, 22, appeared in four seasons of Nickelodeon's Every Witch Way as Daniel Miller. The series, which is about a teenage girl who moves to a new town and learns she's a witch, ran from 2014-2018. Merico told judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie and Luke Bryan he discovered singing with The Sound of Music, then got heavily in to pop music. He called Every Witch Way his big break, and said the experience was amazing, but "at the bottom of my heart I knew music was always what I wanted to do and that's where my soul lies." Merico sang "Back to Black" by Amy...

In what could only be seen as further evidence of the increasing globalization of content, plus Viacom’s drive to produce for and with third-party companies, Nickelodeon Latin America, a Viacom International Studios (Vis) unit, has kicked off production on its Latino fictional music series 60-episode “Club 57” in Italy.
