Fashion is something that means a great deal of things, different to each person. To some it’s just stuff to wear as you go about your day, to others it is a way to express one’s self and to others it is a great art form that deserves serious cultural and sociological respect and admiration. And that doesn’t even touch the world of shoes and footwear.
To many, shoes are the ultimate fashion statement. Some may see them as just things to cover your feet during the day, but to many they are art pieces that are more deserving than any of a high price tag. With some shoes reaching into the thousands of dollars and coming from the most respected of designers, who are the people that not only are able to afford these pieces, but dedicate much of their life to collecting them like film fans do Blu-ray releases?...

Amy Schumer and Bill Hader in TrainwreckPhoto: Universal Pictures With Sundance just wrapping up and Berlin starting up in a few days, we are now immersed in the year-long barrage of film festivals. One such festival in South By Southwest. A few weeks back they announced the first seven films of their program, including the opening night film Brand: A Second Coming. Today, they have revealed the rest of the features to be shown in March (except for the midnight program), and some of it has me very excited. The bigger titles announced do not do much for me. Paul Feig's Spy, starring Melissa McCarthy, and the Will Ferrell/Kevin Hart starrer Get Hard leave a lot to be desired in terms of anticipation, as does a work in progress cut of Judd Apatow's latest film Trainwreck. I'm guessing an Apatow work in progress is probably around three and a half hours.

Big week for Bat-talk! Last week, I published a couple Geekly columns focusing on the Dark Knight Detective. First, I drew up my list of the hundred greatest Batman comics, movies, TV episodes, etc. Then I considered whether it was possible to have entirely too much Batman at one time. And would you believe it, everyone has an opinion about Batman–and a ton of great recommendations! Read on for the highlights. Darren Franich was dead-on right in his piece 'Dark Knight Fatigue Rises,' but from just one perspective. In July of 2013, Cartoon Network debuted DC Animation's new CG series "Beware the Batman.

"The X Factor" kicked off its live shows on Tuesday (Oct. 29) with the judges having to make some hard choices, as each of them had to cut one of their four acts in order to form the Top 12.
The Girls
Demi Lovato and her smurf-tastic hair went first with the Girls category. Ellona Santiago performed Britney's "Till the World Ends" and it was not a great choice for her. It did not show off her voice at all and left her sounding out of breath and weak a lot of the time -- the dance moves did not help this. Not an auspicious start.
Danie Geimer was second with Miley's "Wrecking Ball," which was an interesting choice. It fit her better than Ellona's song fit Ellona, but it was off-pitch at times. Rion Paige took a risk and sang Lovato's "Skyscraper." She too was not on pitch all the...

Blurred Lines singer wrote and directed Mercy, a short film about a man who murdered his cancer-stricken wife
Robin Thicke is making his first film. The Blurred Lines singer and his wife, actress Paula Patton, will co-star in Mercy, a short film about a man who murders his cancer-stricken wife.
Thicke, who also wrote and directed the film, portrays Tom, a "family-focused" limousine driver, according to the Hollywood Reporter, while Patton plays his wife, an alcoholic named Cynthia. The Hunger Games' Amandla Stenberg plays their daughter, "a talented violinist" whose teacher is dying of cancer, and Robert Patrick plays the teacher's husband.
"I've always written my own songs, so [writing a movie] is just an extension of telling stories," Thicke told GQ last spring. Mercy is inspired by the story of Randall Willis, a Florida man who claimed to have murdered his wife because she "just suffered too much" from cancer.
