- Davina Claire: [screeching as tray-carrying Marcel enters] Go away!
- [her spell hits him with a force that throws him up against the wall, and then he drops onto the floor]
- Marcel Gerard: [gets up, tries to pacify] Come on. You gotta be starving. You haven't eaten since...
- Davina Claire: Since your best friend killed my best friend?
- Marcel Gerard: Davina, I'm sorry about what happened to this kid Tim.
- Davina Claire: I'm sorry that you don't hate Klaus for what he did.
- [shakes her head]
- Davina Claire: Or wanna make him pay.
- Marcel Gerard: He'll pay for what he did, one way or the other, but right now I just wanna make peace with you.
- Davina Claire: Why? So we can be one big happy Frankenstein family?
- Rebekah Mikaelson: [after earthquake] Hey. What kind of game do you think you're playing? I said disrupt the household, not destroy the whole city.
- Davina Claire: [shakes her head] I didn't do it. Not on purpose. I... I don't know what's wrong with me.
- Hayley Marshall: Elijah...
- Elijah Mikaelson: Hmm?
- Hayley Marshall: There is something you need to know.
- [interrupted by rumble of earthquake]
- Sophie Deveraux: I'm serious. That earthquake you just felt? A preview of the disaster movie that's about to hit us.
- Hayley Marshall: You're gonna see Sophie.
- Elijah Mikaelson: You don't have to eavesdrop. I keep nothing from you.
- Hayley Marshall: Yeah, well, I don't wanna keep anything from you either. And if you're going to see Sophie, then... there is something you should know. She called me, and asked me for a favor. She promised me that she would help break the curse that Marcel put on my people in exchange for information.
- [loses courage to confess any further, races away from subject:]
- Hayley Marshall: I didn't think anything of it, but then Davina started doing those pictures of Celeste...
- Elijah Mikaelson: [holds up his hand] Whatever this is, you have to tell me.
- Hayley Marshall: [comes nearer] Sophie wanted to find Celeste's remains. So... I... went through your journals, and I found out where you buried her, and then I told her.
- [shakes her head]
- Hayley Marshall: I know it was stupid and it was snoopy and I should have just asked you.
- [Elijah is silent]
- Hayley Marshall: Please say something. Please.
- Elijah Mikaelson: [scoffs] She wanted to be left in peace. When a witch's remains are consecrated, that power fuels the rest of the community. Celeste did not want her remains to be found. She made me promise to bury her where she would not be found. You not only violated my trust, you have broken my promise to her.
- Hayley Marshall: [tearfully, voice shaking] I thought they were just bones, Elijah.
- Elijah Mikaelson: If you truly believed that, why didn't you ask me where to find her?
- Hayley Marshall: [inside church] These people, they're werewolves. And the priest, he said that you're donating the food. You're helping them?
- Klaus Mikaelson: They're not your werewolves. They're my clan, from very far back. They've fallen upon very hard times. And their plight has brought out the philanthropist in me. What can I say? Must be Elijah's influence.
- Hayley Marshall: [as he walks off] What do you mean, your clan?
- Klaus Mikaelson: The blood that runs in their veins runs in mine.
- [turns around to face her]
- Klaus Mikaelson: And in our child's.
- Hayley Marshall: This family gets more complicated by the second.
- Hayley Marshall: Are you ready to forgive me?
- Elijah Mikaelson: It's not that easy, Hayley.
- Hayley Marshall: Elijah, I was wrong to go through your journals. I was wrong to tell Sophie about Celeste. But after everything that happened today, I don't know why we can't see past this.
- Elijah Mikaelson: And you of all people should know why. During my fever in the bayou, you were inside my mind. You know what Celeste means to me.
- Hayley Marshall: Don't you mean meant to you?
- Elijah Mikaelson: No. Do you have any idea how rare love is? In a thousand years, I have found it but twice. And when I have, I have honored it.
- Hayley Marshall: I know what a promise means to you, Elijah. But you made it two hundred years ago. I live in the now. If I feel something, I act. If I want something, I take it. I won't choose the dead over the living. So why are you?
- [he struggles for answer]
- Hayley Marshall: I'm sorry, Elijah.
- [walks off]
