Shooting included filming a rowboat scene across a lake in Golden Gate Park with an actor who had never rowed a boat.
The trailer was originally filmed as promo for novel, "The House on Black Lake". It has since been adapted to a screenplay for a feature film.
Interior scenes shot were shot at the his historic Victorian Hotel Chateau Tivoli, built in 1892, one of the buildings deemed "the painted ladies" on Alamo Square in San Francisco.
