Quite an Escalation
jameswyattranks2 November 2023
The kind of build-up and tension you need just before a season finale and an excellent payoff to the events of all 3 seasons so far. You get to see the human side of characters as well as the monster within. A huge chain of events and the massive effect each of every one of those events has had on several characters.

Performances are incredibly strong, particularly from Reese and Billy but several others are noteworthy. It sets up something potentially explosive and epic and I hope it manages to deliver. The writing of this one seems very strong and shows a clear and rather impressive plan was in place this whole time.

A PERFECT BUILD UP!
gabrielmikhno5 November 2023
WOW, this episode was awesome! This whole season was slowly building up to this episode! It wasn't clear in what direction this season was going from the beginning, but now everything is being tied together and it's just a joy to watch!

The performances are incredibly strong and the writing is on point! I honestly don't know whose side to be on! Most of the characters are being well fleshed out, unlike some. Cory is my favorite as always.

This episode finally reveals secrets from previous seasons that never got discussed, and it's so satisfying how they are tying it together.

This season is still not as good as the first. The first was something new, different, and fresh. Everything was there for a purpose and you got a lot of Alex and Bradley dynamic. This season comes close, it really depends on the last episode. Because lately in a lot of shows, the penultimate episode is amazing, and the finale then disappoints. The writers set a high bar, let's hope they can reach it!

Otherwise props to the cast!

The Perfect Show, the Perfect Climax

The Morning Show Season 3 Episode 9, "Update Your Priors," is a thrilling and emotional episode that explores the future of UBA. The show follows the story of a mysterious LLC buying up shares of UBA before the board vote on the Paul Marks deal. Bradley investigates the safety warnings at Hyperion and Alex, who is torn between her career at UBA and a future she might forge outside of it if Paul decides to sell off parts of the company. The show's most likely conclusion is the end of UBA, which would be a realistic outcome. However, the company's toxic office culture and criminal cover-ups have been toxic since the show's inception, and the show's one-off monologues about the importance of legacy media have failed to convince viewers that the network deserves to survive in its current form. The author is interested in the potential company Alex might build if given the power she has been seeking for a long time and the stories she might tell. They believe Alex and Paul make good partners, respecting her talent and opinion more than Cory has. The most satisfying moment of the episode was when Alex finally told Cory about himself, as she is not wrong in her decision to side with Paul. The deal is as much about Cory's ego as it is about protecting the company's future, and Alex's self-righteous monologing does not make that any less true. The Morning Show has struggled to depict the relationship between Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston since the Season 1 finale, where they joined hands to change UBA. For most of Seasons 2 and 3, the two women have been siloed in separate storylines and their paths crossed infrequently. While it's a relief to finally see Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston share a meaty scene together this season, Bradley's lecturing tone about Alex's love life is quite a lot. While she's trying to justify her investigative reporting and her involvement in safety violations and exploited workers, it's clear that she wants to have a story here, which immediately puts Alex's back up.

It would have felt less manipulative if they had spent more time together this season or if the show had set up their conversation in a way that wasn't so clearly about trying to put them on opposite sides of this particular war. Alex is genuinely interested in Bradley coming with her to whatever new venture she's planning, but she's going about it differently than dramatically quitting on-air. Bradley, a former UBA player, is dealing with a significant issue with his girlfriend Laura, who has discovered she has committed minor felonies. Laura is concerned about the consequences of not reporting the truth, as she knows she could face consequences if anyone finds out she knew about the crimes. Laura confronts Bradley about the truth, and Witherspoon and Julianna Marguiles play crucial roles in the scene. Bradley admits the truth, claiming to be sorry and attempting to make things right again. However, Laura's protests are seen as lies, and she has no intention of anyone finding out. The fight between the two is heartbreaking, and Laura is devastated by the revelation and the long-standing lies. Despite this, she still cares about Bradley and doesn't report the story, leaving her anger unresolved. It's unclear what the future holds for the two characters.

Over Laura

Warning: Spoilers
The show, I want to like it. I love Jennifer Aniston. I really like Alex's character. But does Laura and Bradley storyline is getting old.. I can't believe the way Laura treated Bradley and the situation. What can't she comprehend about choosing your brother over politics or whatever you want to call it. That lady is so bitter so angry and has one agenda but can't comprehend real love that Bradley has for her brother. Bradley should not be apologizing to her !I wanted her so bad to stand up and say listen to the reason why I did it and stop being closed minded. Someone needs to put an end to Laura because her character is not great.

So cheap
mweratcliffe18 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I don't know how they got these actresses to do these scenes except to accept the theme of this series that people will do anything for money and power. Laura is supposed to love Bradley. She knows Bradley's brother is an addict and has mental health issues. Yet she is so morally affronted by the fact that Bradley tried to protect her brother and his family and yes - herself and Laura - from the onslaught of the press and prosecution because of her brother's wrongful participation in J6, that she slashes the whole relationship in this awkward clumsy "fake" outrage during an argument about it. It's so cheap and tawdry. I'm sure next season Laura will be trying to woo Bradley back and the crappy writing on this show will have that work for an episode or two until they can develop a new tawdry plot to have Bradly stab Laura in the back. Just so cheap.

PROBABLY THE WORST WRITING IN HISTORY OF TV
gandzetina9 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
This was just embarrassing. All logic of 3 seasson, of storytelling, of character building is lost in this 45 min of dissaster. And people liked it! We need to disappear as specie, we need to find some other way to express our self as humans, because when this kind of soap opera become treated as serious thinking, we don't deserve to be treated as decent. Dialogue, argument between Bradly and Lora was so illogical I couldn't belive my ears? Bradly was defending her brother and Lora was disgust with it?! What, she should kill her brother and protect Innocent policman?! And then Bradley's resign, live, on tv...!!! Really!? Have you ever seen such thing in real life?! No, sorry, this eas just so bad I ll skip ladt episode, even though I watched all previous episodes. This was insult of common sense. No more.

Episode 309
bobcobb30118 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
It seems like they took the Paul character too dark and too fast. We knew it would be revealed he had some bad misdeeds in his past, but turning him into this guy cheating the government and abusing his employees felt like an unnecessary reach.

It is also hard to see how they manage to build up the idea of UBA bouncing between relevancy and not so quickly. It is not a CNN, it is more like NBC and NBC would still draw a hefty price tag should it see the market.

This season has kind of fizzled out after some early hype so let's see if it can end on a high note with the finale that premieres next week.
