One of the most memorable musical moments from Oingo Boingo, the adorable single "Stay" got a very charming and fun music video as a companion piece. Simple concept: a
couple is having a brief argument at a bar where she wants to leave and the man wants her to stay and next thing you know the curtains open, the crowd turn their heads to see
what's the upcoming attraction and comes Oingo to entertain audiences.
If performance clips just follow the basics and most of the time it's either boring or just alright to watch, this one somehow manages to be a magical experience of the senses - obviously because the song is quite special despite its simplicity in joining events and rhymes (but I love it). Danny Elfman might creeps us out for a while with some villainesque expressions while smiling and the bass player is quite expressive in a funny way that you never forget but there's also the strange and unexplained ghost that appears in some shots - I'm still trying to figure out what's going on there yet it's all amusing and very entertaining.
It never fails to impress in those more than 20-something years that I know "Stay". It's a definite classic music video in my book. 10/10.
