Fans of Chris Pine can rest easy! After his Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit vastly underperformed at the box office, the blue-eyed actor will, alas, still be able to get work. Variety is reporting that he has signed on to star in The Line.
David Gordon Green, perhaps best known for directing the stoner comedy duo of Pineapple Express and Your Highness, will be helming this thriller. The plot is said to center around a border patrol agent, on the run with a boy whose family was just killed by a cartel. His own wife and child were recently killed and, while trying to keep the boy alive, he discovers that both sides of the border seem to be gunning for the two of them.
Green is currently in post-production for Manglehorn, a drama starring Al Pacino, Chris Messina, and Holly Hunter. Chris Pine has a heavy load of projects ahead.

Shortly before the release of 2010′s Will Forte-starring action-comedy MacGruber, the Saturday Night Live star told this writer that he would definitely like to make a sequel. “That is a dream scenario,” said the comic. “Just to be working with the same group of people would be awesome. I would love the chance to do that again… in a tropical setting.”
The chances of anyone ever putting up the dough for MacGruber 2 seemed subatomically slight after the film garnered some dismal reviews — EW’s Liza Schwarzbaum dismissed it as “90 minutes of talented performers doing and saying dumb, crude stuff...
