Sex & Nudity

  • There are some suggestive words and phrases in some of the dialogue, including expressing interest in having sex with a female survivor.

Violence & Gore

  • This "Mature"-rated first-person shooter lets you use a number of weapons to kill (re-kill) zombies, including a crossbow, shotguns, and melee weapons like a knife or hammer.
  • The player uses weapons ranging from blunt instruments like metal pipes to a variety of guns to destroy the undead in his path.
  • Since destroying the brain is the only way to kill a zombie, this means many heads are bashed in (as graphically as the feeble visuals allow), and some explode when shot with powerful guns.
  • The player can sneak up behind a zombie to stab them in the head.
  • Some zombies are missing limbs, and sometimes zombies are found feasting on a dead body.
  • When the player dies, a zombie bites under the screen (where the characters throat is, from the first-person perspective) and comes away with a mouthful of blood.
  • Blood and gore can be seen while fighting with the undead and from battle-torn corpses on the ground.
  • Players use shotguns, rifles, and crossbows to kill waves of zombies that lurch toward the screen; enemies emit green splashes of blood when hit.
  • Bonuses are awarded for successful headshots (e.g., Try to get 10 headshots in a row.)
  • Players lose points for shooting/killing unarmed civilians.
  • Red blood effects appear onscreen when players' character incurs damage.

Profanity

  • Some moderate language throughout.
  • Some uses of son of a bitch, asshole, shit, dickhead, and pussy.
  • Daryl says fuck only once in the main story and sometimes when he kills a walker from behind.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • Merle is found on a rooftop sunburned and lots of beer bottles are found. He appears drunk.
  • You later go to the old club he used to be in, which turns out he only wanted his meds.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • The walkers can be frightening to children.
  • There are some jump scares where walkers appear dead then attack you. They even pop out of doorways and grab you.
  • You can sometimes get surrounded by a herd of them. May be unsettling for some.
  • In the end, this game isn't as bad as most M games besides the violence and language. Ok for 16+.
