A short with a twist.

Having waited a good while for this film, I was thrilled to be able to get a ticket to the LIFF, at Genesis Cinema, and I was not disappointed.

I couldn't believe how so much could've been put, so skillfully, into a fifteen minute film. Intrigue, drama, fun and a twist.

What more can you want?

Beautifully directed and filmed, you are gradually taken through the story as it builds to its surprising end.

The actors made it a delight to watch. Holly de Jong played "the crotchety old woman" in her own inimitable way while her amiable husband was played by Mark Shorto. Dorothea Jones and Robert Thompson played their parts well, too.

As director, Joshua Bransgrove has great things to come. I can tell. His storytelling is wonderful and he has an eye for detail/lighting/sound and setting.

I highly recommend a viewing of this film.

A good job, very well done to all involved.

Understated perfection.

I'd heard about this film and had been anticipating seeing it.

It premiered last night at the Genesis Cinema who host the excellent London Independent Film Festival.

I was not in the least disappointed with this film.

The storyline flowed beautifully in its build-up, right the way through to the ending which was utterly unexpected but so beautifully done.

The acting from Holly de Jong was perfection in itself which is what one would expect from an actor of such calibre. She was aided greatly by Dorothea Jones, Mark Shorto and Robert Thompson who each threw themselves excellently into their well-played roles.

The cinematography of this film was spot on as were lighting and sound which, together, all helped to achieve so much in this short film.

I have high hopes for Joshua Bransgrove's future as I do for all involved in the making of Forbidden Love On The Shores Of Greece.

Well done.

Hugely recommended.

Amazing! Fantastic Film!

Thoroughly enjoyed this film. From the outdoor settings to the funny little aspects of the partners' in the house, the film offers a captivating viewpoint of a love secret.

Great use of crew members as SA's throughout enabled the team to keep the budget down whilst offering an opportunity to be on film to those who otherwise might not get the chance.

The characters were well thought out, the actors expertly cast and the whole production was brought to life with great care and passion for its delivery.

I'd like to see more from this director, Josh Bransgrove. With his imagination and dedication to this production, imagine what he could do with a proper budget.

Watching the screening at the cinema were family, friends, strangers and filmmaking peers, all of whom clearly enjoyed this film too by the rapturous applause at the end.

Brilliant, funny and memorable.

A short film with a feature length feel.

This is one of the best short films I have seen in a long while. The cinematography and direction were superb, and the original storyline made for a refreshing change.

Catherine Dorma, played by Holly De Jong, draws you into her mysterious life. Your mind begins to wonder as she takes you with her on a darker than normal adventure, with a twist.

Mark Shorto, Dorathea Jones and Robert Thompson were excellent in their roles that complimented Holly perfectly.

There was even a surprise cameo appearance by Director Joshua Bransgrove.

In summary, a fantastic watch that I would recommend to everyone. 😊👌

A relatable and fascinating story about storytelling

As a writer I find myself overhearing conversation on the train, the bus and other places around the city. This film captures the rawness of a real story and the obsession of artists to capture such moments and immortalise them. Saw this at the London Independent Film Festival 2023 and was honoured to be selected alongside it with my film. The acting is superb and the music transports you into a quiet, eerie and static environment. It seems like a place where people go to get away. To reveal secrets.

I wish for Joshua to keep up the good work and hope to see him successful in many more festivals to come in the future.
