Fans of the Hammerhead on “The Masked Dancer” are thrilled that he has made it to the final six contenders who are competing on the January 27 episode. He has won over the four judges with his enthusiasm. He made the cut last week with his performance of a dance routine set to “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd.
He first showed off his dance moves on episode 1 to “Everybody” by Backstreet Boys. We’ve taken another look at those two performances. And we’ve also had another look at his clues videos and another listen to his Word Up clues “dramatic” and “heartbreaker.” Keep reading for all “The Masked Dancer” spoilers, including our theory as as to the real name of the Hammerhead.
We are convinced that the Hammerhead is “Jersey Shore” stud Vinny Guadagnino.

Of the four remaining contenders in Group A of “The Masked Dancer,” the one that is proving the most difficult to determine the real name of is the Hammerhead. He first showed off his dance moves on episode 1 to “Everybody” by Backstreet Boys. The four judges were just as lost as we were guessing Carrot Top, Zac Efron or Joe Jonas. He contends again on episode 4 on January 20.
We’ve gone back and rewatched his first routine as well as the clues video. And we took a lot more listens to his Word Up clue “dramatic.” Keep reading for all “The Masked Dancer” spoilers, including our theory as as to the real name of the Hammerhead.

Been losing sleep over trying to figure out the names of the stars performing in elaborate costumes on “The Masked Dancer” premiere? We’ve done some sleuthing since episode one debuted on December 27 and was repeated three days later. We are pretty sure we have uncovered the identities of the four contestants who made it through to the next round, including the real identity of the Hammerhead. He got the series off to a rousing start with his sizzling routine set to “Everybody” by Backstreet Boys .
Forget the guesses by the panel that the Hammerhead is Carrot Top, Zac Efron or Joe Jonas. Some actors were just born to be typecast.
“This man has no dick.” And neither do the movies anymore.
If you’re going to write a part specifically for William Atherton, it’s probably going to be inspired by his three most famous roles. That was clearly the case when he was cast for an episode of the TV series Lost, in which he plays a slimy high school principal character who was conceived with him in mind. It was a throwback to the assholes he embodied in Ghostbusters, Real Genius, and the first two Die Hard movies. Another one of his dicks.
Unfortunately, there aren’t enough people writing dick parts specifically for Atherton to play on the big screen. It’s been 20 years since his last (slightly) memorable movie continuation of the type, in Bio-Dome, and many of his fans probably aren’t even aware that he’s still alive and working regularly. Rampaging sharks have mixed history on the big screen. For every Jaws, which created the roadmap for the modern blockbuster and scared an entire generation out of learning how to swim, there.s a Deep Blue Sea, which, while awesome in a different way, hardly measures up. (We.re not even going to get into the glut of Syfy-style shark-themed movies like Sharknado, Jersey Shore Shark Attack, and the Mega Shark Vs. franchise.) A new entry into this realm, The Shallows, is on the way this summer and just dropped a new trailer. You can check out angry sea life terrorizing Blake Lively below. Dropped on People Magazine.s Twitter page, this trailer for The Shallows doesn.t reinvent the wheel, but there.s definitely the potential for this to be solid, fear-of-nature-style thriller. As you can see, there.s not a lot of detail. We meet Blake Lively.s...

The cruddy spin offs, the endless badgering Bill Murray about Ghostbusters 3 - it's all testimony to the genius of the surprisingly salty and definitely prescient Ghostbusters (Channel 5, Sunday, 6.55pm GMT)
"Ray, when someone asks you if you're a god, you say yes" - Winston Zeddemore
It's a wonder that Dan Aykroyd isn't a full-blown recluse right now. Judging by all the interviews and soundbites he's done on the subject – not to mention the mountain of half-formed almost-speculation that appears immediately afterwards – the poor man must spend his entire life fending off questions about Ghostbusters 3. If it'll be animated or live action. If it'll star a new generation of Ghostbusters. If Bill Murray will appear in it or not. If it'll even happen at all. At this stage, Ghostbusters 3 is the Chinese Democracy of paranormal comedies, and all this fuss is down to how incredibly well-regarded the first Ghostbusters is.

After Sharknado and Mega Shark Vs Giant Octopus, Syfy's latest TV film may signal a downhill turn for the frenzy of shark movies

I'm about to say something that's bound to ruffle a few feathers. I'm going to be dismissive of sharks. And I'm going to do it on the internet. Telling the internet that you're bored with sharks is madness. It's like telling the internet that you're bored with cat gifs, or ironic moustaches, or pretending that everything is either much more or much less sexist than it actually is. It's asking for trouble.
And yet, now that the Syfy channel is making a TV movie about an avalanche full of sharks, this must be said. To use the parlance of this publication, I'm worried we may be reaching "peak shark".
The film is called Avalanche Sharks. It doesn't have a broadcast date yet,...

YouTube has transformed itself into what was once the harbinger of Rick Astley videos and dudes filming what would happen when they bet they could totally jump off that roof into something somewhat more respectable. Via Sonar Entertainment, Youtube launched Minis + Movies, a new paid subscription channel that brings classic miniseries and made-for-tv movies to your computer screen. So while you won’t be able to watch such modern classics as Sharknado or Jersey Shore Shark Attack or Sharktopus through this subscription service, Sonar owns a catalog of over 500 titles that will be available for viewing. In case you were wondering, yes, they do have the Tia, Tamara and Taj Mowry film Seventeen Again. Thank you for asking. The great part of exploring many of these telefilms is stumbling upon certain gems that Hollywood heavy hitters made at the beginnings of their careers. The Sonar catalog features flicks like Jennifer Garner’s 1999 action-disaster vehicle Aftershock: Earthquake in New York and...

How about this as a horror-movie concept? A mad scientist is convinced that within the large, strange brain of the shark lurks an untapped skill for written communication. What if a shark could be trained to post on Facebook? No – Twitter! Yes, yes, why not Twitter?!
The scientist is right! Then things go horribly awry when the beasts, routinely fed a chum of vitamins, radioactive materials and laptop circuitry, learn to compress themselves into 140 characters or less, disguising tail and fin with tempting hashtags like #HaveASnack. Click on an innocuous-looking Tweet and you may end up saying goodbye to your hand,...

"Sharknado" may be the ultimate Syfy Original Movie. It's about sharks. Sharks caught up in a tornado. Ian Ziering, once of "Beverly Hills 90210," and Tara Reid are in charge of saving the world from the killer flying fish-monsters.
Could anything be better?
Syfy obviously thinks that "more" equals "better." Because of this, the cable network will surround "Sharknado" with seven other shark-themed disaster films. Yes, Syfy has seven more shark-themed disaster films.
Actually, the original movie-loving network has way more than seven ("Jersey Shore Shark Attack" anyone?), but that's the number getting airtime on Thursday, July 8. In all, Syfy will present an eight-movie marathon of shark destruction throughout the day.
The insanity begins at 9am on Thursday with the aptly named "Mega Shark vs. Giant Octopus." Following that, we get "Malibu Shark Attack," "Sharktopus," "Swamp Shark" and "Super Shark." The main event, "Sharknado," takes the prime-time position at 9pm, and...

While we’ve all come to expect truly terrible made-for-tv movies with hilariously intuitive titles from the SyFy cable network (ones with names like Aztec Rex, Dinoshark, Flu Bird Horror, Mega Python vs. Gatoroid, Jersey Shore Shark Attack, and Yeti: Curse of the Snow Demon, wonders all), the NBC Universal-owned channel is now interested in lowering their standards (almost unfathomably) even further. Forbes reports (via ComingSoon) that SyFy is now looking to push “into the movie business — and that it may even remake Waterworld, one of the most notorious Hollywood bombs of all time.” Let’s take this time to remind everyone that it is November 27th, not April 1st. This is not a joke. The outlet adds that the network “has been looking for a way into film for years, ever since NBC merged with Vivendi Universal Entertainment in 2004. That marriage provided Syfy — known as Sci Fi Channel until a 2009 brand makeover — with access to Universal Pictures...

Are you tired of shark movies yet? How about CGI shark features? Yes, there is an exception to every rule and movies like Sharktopus are allowed to be appreciated for the complete debauched camp that the provide a stoned or otherwise inebriated audience on a Saturday night in lieu of sexual intercourse, but hasn’t it all been done? Didn’t we learn anything from Shark Night 3D, Jersey Shore Shark Attack and the like… movies that may be trying to take themselves somewhat seriously (okay, maybe not Jersey Shore Shark Attack)? For those of you who find yourselves on the couch once again, drunk, babbling on your social network and looking for something outlandishly entertaining to watch I give you Bait 3D. Just as MTV blesses us with the good news that the idiocy of the Jersey Shore will be coming to an end next season, SyFy brings us an amalgamation of ideas too good to pass up: Jersey Shore Shark Attack. Or is it?
The film's scene is set by loosely referencing a spree of historic shark attacks that plagued the Jersey shore in 1916, the actual event claiming four lives and inspiring Peter Benchley’s book Jaws that would become the definitive shark film of all time. Since then, there has been no sign of the killer sharks, until a villainous real estate mogul (William Atherton) drills off shore and sets a small army of red-eyed albino sharks free. A la Jaws, the sheriff and town are slow to come around, but this time it’s “The Complication” (Jeremy Luc) and Nookie (Melissa Molinaro) ringing the warning bells.

If you think watching a completed Syfy original movie is a trip, try checking one out that features unfinished special effects, sound and music! That was my experience with watching a preview screener for this Saturday’s Piranhaconda, premiering at 9pm Et/Pt, the latest in Syfy’s four straight weeks of June original movie premieres (following last week’s Jersey Shore Shark Attack). It was pretty hilarious (even more so than usual for a movie of this sort) to watch the attack scenes when I had to use my imagination in many instances to see what sort of damage the title creature would [...]...

Syfy is known for a few things: canceling actual science-fiction shows, airing the universe's only cooking show to be sold as a science-fiction show, and creating monster hybrids for its popular-ish creature features. Saturday night was all about the latter as the network's latest made-for-tv-but-not-suitable-for-anyone movie brought together two of our biggest fears: man-eating sharks and Guidos. This movie was amazing! I mean, it was better than Prometheus and it cost the same as the opening credits for Prometheus, so from a financial efficiency standpoint, Jersey Shore Shark Attack was better than... More >>...

Maybe you were more on the ball than I was and got a chance to watch the world premiere of Jersey Shore Shark Attack on Syfy Friday night. For those of us who weren't so lucky, we really missed out. Besides the typical Syfy original bad acting, gore, and cgi developed by a fourth grade art class, it looks like there was far more to laugh at this time around as the entire movie is a spoof on The Jersey Shore. What could be better? Oh yeah, you put a member of N-sync, Pauly from Sopranos, and Vinny from the Jersey Shore in the movie. Before you click the trailer, try to guess which one gets eaten by the shark. If you're looking to get the Blu-Ray it hits stores August 28th!

He’s a lifelong Brooklynite and longtime actor most famous for his role as “Paulie Walnuts” Gualtieri on The Sopranos, but Tony Sirico heads to the Jersey Shore for his latest role in Syfy’s original movie Jersey Shore Shark Attack, premiering this Saturday, June 9, at 9pm Et/Pt. Tragically, the sharks eventually died of alcohol poisoning.
It was a given that Syfy's Jersey Shore Shark Attack would be a bad movie, but the question is ... is it a good bad movie? Surprisingly, yes, for the most part.
Thanks to a game cast, appropriately dumb dialogue, and some astoundingly bad special effects, it ends up trashy fun ... until it eventually wears out its welcome.
Jeremy Luc as "The Complication"
Things get off to an eye-rolling start as we meet the lead characters, the excruciatingly named The Complication (Jeremy Luc), Nooki ( Melissa Molinaro), Pauly Balzac (Daniel Booko), and Donnie (played by Joey Russo, who mugged Meg Foster for her eyes).
Fortunately, the level of satire rises a notch after that cringe-inducing roll call.
The Guidos get into the typical Jersey Shore shenanigans (they're after A.S.S. "Alcohol, Sun, Sex"), but because this is family-friendly Syfy, it stays at a...

The box this little feller came in said these four original movies are part of SyFy's Most Dangerous Month On Televison. Most dangerous to what? Our eyes? Our ears? Our souls? Surely I jest because SyFy original movies are far, far, far from being any good. We all know that already. So what do we look for if we're not looking for quality? Entertainment. Some of this month's picks have it in spades. Some do not. To make things easier for everyone I have suggested drinking games for each film at the end of this preview. Participate at you own risk.
