The Harry Potter franchise made worldwide stars of its main three actors, who portray Harry, Hermione and Ron. Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson seem to be in sight after the last Hp movie was released in 2011, while the fate of Rupert Grint, who played the most awkward and the youngest son of the Weasley family, is lesser known.
It turns out that after starring in Harry Potter, which was quite a challenge to Grint, he preferred to explore indie films and take the unexpectedly extravagant roles.
His first post-Potter project was the 2012 war drama Into the White, and the actor’s feisty character was definitely a far cry from Ron Weasley.
This trend continued in the 2013 biopic Cbgb, where Grint reunited with the Severus Snape actor, Alan Rickman, with them playing drastically different roles they had in Hp. Besides, that year is remarkable for the actor’s appearance in Charlie Countryman.

It has been a decade since the Harry Potter movies ended, and all of the young actors from the films have moved on. Rupert Grint has multiple show and film credits under his belt. Looking back, he once admitted to having seen only one Harry Potter movie.
Grint wants to detach himself from the early role but still looks back at it fondly. He cares about his character. Fans may be happy to hear that he has the desire to play Ron again.

Snowpiercer Season 3 Episode 1
One of the strongest features of Snowpiercer is the show’s ability to figure out ways to create claustrophobia. Granted, that’s easy on a train; it’s not exactly the sort of environment in which you can spread out and social distance from your neighbors. On the last train, however, that situation is even more dire, especially if you’re in third class or stuck in the tail. The people on board Snowpiercer toil away elbow to elbow with their fellows, making clothes, breaking up ice, cooking and growing food, even entertaining in the club car. There’s not a space to be alone, unless you’re the leader of the anti-Wilford resistance, and that means you’re alone in a room the size and temperature of a meat locker.
The moments when characters are alone, conversely, feel all the more...

Spoiler Alert: The following article contains details about the Season 2 finale of TNT’s Snowpiercer.
Tonight’s two-part Snowpiercer finale brought key characters through a number of major turns, both moral and literal, setting up a new chapter in the war over humanity’s future.
Episode 9 (“The Show Must Go On”) kicked off with the villainous Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) cementing his takeover of Snowpiercer, having imprisoned revolutionary Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) within The Swamp. Layton’s ally Melanie Cavill (Jennifer Connelly) remains Mia, after journeying to a research station, to assess changes to the Earth’s climate, following The Freeze.
With his biggest foes out of the picture, Wilford surprises passengers with a propaganda-filled carnival and a private dinner, where he tests the loyalty of those in his circle, his ultimate goal being to reorganize Snowpiercer according to social class, and to cull its population.

Brandon Cronenberg has proven to be an heir to his father, David, with his grisly sophomore feature, “Possessor Uncut,” which took home best film and director at Spain’s 53rd Sitges Film Festival on Saturday.
Running Oct.8-18, the fantastic film fest, Europe’s biggest, wrapped yesterday in Sitges, a picturesque seaside resort just south of Barcelona.
With these new honors, Brandon Cronenberg also suggests that his best new director award at 2012’s Sitges for debut feature, “Antiviral,” was no fluke.
A sci fi-horror hybrid, “Possessor Uncut” tracks an elite corporate assassin who uses brain-implant technology to take possession of other people’s bodies and slay prominent targets. "You're a wizard, Harry!"
It's hard to believe it's been 15 years since we first heard Robbie Coltrane deliver that line in character as Rubeus Hagrid in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, the first of what would turn into eight total fantasy films based on the beloved "Harry Potter" book series by J.K. Rowling.
Nov. 16, 2001 marked the day the world was introduced to Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Emma Watson as Hermione Granger and Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley. Potterheads quickly fell in love with their unbreakable bond on-screen, which was noticeably just as strong when the cameras weren't rolling.

For the first time ever, Donald Cammell’s obscure 1987 serial killer thriller White of the Eye is available on DVD and Blu-ray in the United States (the UK arm of Arrow Video brandished its own striking package of the title in early 2014). Director of only four features, including his iconic 1970 debut Performance (co-directed by Nicolas Roeg), Cammell’s quartet of features were all labors of love, the filmmaker undergoing significant set backs on each project up until his death following 1995’s Wild Side.
With seven to ten years in-between each outing, this feature marked the end of a decade long hiatus following 1977’s adaptation of the Dean Koontz novel Demon Seed starring Julie Christie. Adapting from an obscure novel by brothers Laurence and Andrew Klavan (a notable writer of mystery thrillers) writing under the pseudonym Margaret Tracy, Cammell’s wife and actress China Kong co-wrote the screenplay. Stories about friendship blossoming in unexpected places come along fairly often, as do films about World War II, but rarely do the two coincide. Maybe that’s because when anyone makes movies about World War II, few people feel comfortable making a distinction between the monstrous whole of the Nazi ideology and the many soldiers who were famously “just following orders”. Peter Naess’s Into the White manages to make this separation by taking three Nazi pilots and two of their British adversaries, and stranding them in the middle of nowhere so that human decency and civility can have a chance to override military and nationalist propaganda. The film’s concept might be a bit simple and you may see where it’s going 20 minutes in, but it manages to tell a strong character-driven story in a cramped space with a good cast.

ComingSoon.net has a first look at a clip from Magnolia Pictures' Into the White , the war drama starring Rupert Grint ("Harry Potter" films), David Kross, Stig Henrik Hoff, Florian Lukas and Lachlan Nieboer. At the beginning of World War II, a hostile chance encounter in the skies above the harsh Norwegian wilderness leaves two aircraft.one British, one German.shot down in a remote and isolated region. By strange coincidence, the crews seek shelter in the same cabin. They must battle to survive the brutal winter in order to get back to the war.and to fighting one another. Although war has made them enemies, as the days go by, animosity proves hard to maintain. Mutual need leads to unlikely friendships, and the rules of war must be put aside. Into the White is now...

With a seemingly fantastical, yet true-to-life story as its backbone, Scandinavian production Into the White had potential in spades. The least of which wasn’t the film’s immediate, juicy setup which finds opposing forces during World War II forced to share an isolated cabin after their aircraft are collectively downed during the frigid Norwegian winter. The dormant promise the hook possesses ranges from duality-laden themes of coexistence and betrayal to loyalty and humaneness to camaraderie and distrust. While some of these motifs may surface (albeit in the most superficial ways), the film almost solely opts for artificial-feeling melodrama in lieu of darker subtext.
From the first encounter between German and British airmen, Into the White makes it fairly clear what type of effort it sets out to be. With the three surviving (armed) Luftwaffe aviators reaching a modest hunting cabin ahead of two (unarmed) Raf enlistees, we have the...

(Note: Amazon has the the release date listed for June 25th, but because June 4th is listed by two separate but respectable places, we believe this date over Amazon's.) But fret not, those who do not own a blu-ray player can still enjoy it. Amazon has the DVD available for pre-order here.

Two things that came out in the past few hours featuring Rupert Grint's latest work. First off is an exclusive clip that MTV obtained from "Into The White" that will be released in the Us in April, but is currently available to rent on iTunes for $9.99. The clip is quite spoilery, so I suggest that if you don't want to know any major plot points of the movie do not watch this clip! But for those who do not care, the clip is fantastic and shows just how great the movie is. You can view the clip here. You may also remember that Rupert narrated the documentary "We Are Aliens" which is currently playing in many areas. The official website for the movie has all the clips up and you can go to their site here to watch. At the bottom of the page is a link to download all the clips.

Fair warning: Things are about to get intense.
That's because we have an exclusive clip from "Into the White," a World War II drama starring "Harry Potter" alum Rupert Grint.
As a brief introduction to the clip, "Into the White" tells the story of World War II fighter pilots, both German and English, that shoot the other side down, only to find themselves stranded in the Norwegian wilderness, depending on each other to survive.
The above sequence from the film is an intense moment, where the survivors attempt to amputate the arm of a wounded comrade.
"Into the White" is currently availabe OnDemand and on iTunes. It will be in theaters on April 12.

It is an interesting week for On Demand/DVD New Releases, not a lot of big-name titles coming out, but the total number of films being released is more than we usually see. For the younger set, there’s Barney, the Care Bears, Thomas and Friends, and Wreck-It Ralph (which is rated PG). Fans of quirky, indie films might enjoy Angel in the House, Barrymore, I Am Secretly an Important Man, and The Intouchables. Miltary buffs/action fans should consider Red Dawn, Into the White and The Marine 3: Homefront. The following On Demand/DVD New Releases are available March 4-10: Angel in the House: Toni Collette [...]...

What’s even more exciting than discovering a new secret passageway on the Marauder’s Map?
Trick question. Nothing is more thrilling than discovering a new way out of the castle. But the past couple of weeks have been pretty great for Harry Potter fans. J. K. And for those who were hopeful the whole gang would find life outside the castle walls,...

Harry Potter’s best friend, Ron Weasley, could use a little magical assistance these days because Rupert Grint is having a rough time in the new trailer for Into the White.
Unfortunately (in a sense) for the three leads in the Harry Potter franchise, the movie series about the boy who lived catapulted Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint into the spotlight in a major way during their childhood years, making a large part of society forever see them as Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
Now that the Potter storyline has wrapped up, the three stars have set off to see if there’s a career beyond Hogwarts. Radcliffe discovered the easiest way to distance himself from the boy with the lightning-shaped scar was to get on a Broadway stage and take his clothes off, and roles in The Woman in Black and the upcoming Horns seems...

With the long-running Harry Potter franchise in their collective rearview mirror, the stars of that series are finally able to move on to other projects. Now we have the trailer for his newest movie Into the White, a true story about members of the British and German forces in WWII who are both shot down and must band together to survive. It looks like there could be some great tense moments ala Inglourious Basterds here, but we'll have to wait and see. Watch below! Daniel Radcliffe made a splash at Sundance this past month with the Allen Ginsberg biopic "Kill Your Darlings," and Emma Watson earned rave reviews for September's "The Perks of Being a Wallflower," playing the flirtatious Sam, a character who is pretty much as anti-Hermione as they come.
But what about the third member of the Harry Potter trio, Rupert Grint? Is he ready to leave one Ronald Bilius Weasley behind as well? Sure looks like it, if the trailer for his new movie "Into the White" is anything to go by.
Previously known as "Comrade," the WWII actioner centers on a group of British and German soldiers, who are forced to band together for survival after being shot down in the bitter winter wilderness of Norway. The movie, which was first released abroad last March, is based on the true story of real pilots who eventually became lifelong friends.

Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson have both done remarkable (and unexpected) jobs by guiding their careers through the deadly child actor limbo, establishing themselves as more then just kids who were lucky enough to resemble Harry Potter characters. Rupert Grint who constantly mugged as played Ron Weasley, hasn't managed to do that yet, but a new trailer for the WWII film Into The White, the two other members of the trio might need get out of the way.

Along with Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, we've watched Rupert Grint grow up on the big screen through the 'Harry Potter' films, and just like his castmates, he's moving onto a diverse array of projects, one that he hopes will allow people to see that he's much more than just Ron Weasley. Last week, he had a role in "The Necessary Death Of Charlie Countryman" which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival, and his upcoming performances include playing The Dead Boys member Cheetah Chrome in "Cbgb," a part in the Dennis Wilson biopic "The Drummer," and the lead voice role in the animated "Postman Pat." And this spring, he's earning his wings. "Into The White" co-stars Grint, David Kross, Stig Henrik Hoff, Florian Lukas and Lachlan Nieboer, and takes place at the beginning of World War II, where a hostile chance encounter in the skies above the harsh Norwegian wilderness...

In a few short hours, many of us will finally be celebrating 2013. However, the year 2012 for Rupert Grint and his fans has been a fantastic one. The MPAA took a week off to celebrate Thanksgiving, but they have returned with a load of new ratings, and two in particular worthy of noting. First for the one we knew was coming, which is the PG-13 for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey. I saw it earlier today and the rating for extended sequences of intense fantasy action violence and frightening images seems about appropriate. That is, unless they wanted to mention a be-heading or two and troll snot, but whatever. The two I am more specifically interested in first begins with the R-rating for Joel and Ethan Coen's Inside Llewyn Davis, which is still without a distributor, but can at least now claim an R-rating for language including some sexual references. Maybe this one will end up on sale at Cannes in 2013 seeing how we already know it won't be showing up at Sundance. And then, remember Trance?...
